Donald Joseph Cyr
The death of Donald Joseph Cyr of Campbellton occurred October 7, 2001, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.

He was born in Campbellton on February 4, 1942 to the late Donald W. Cyr and Lyola Walker.

He had been employed by NB Tel for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife Ann Cyr, his daughters Cheryl Cyr of Dalhousie, Debbie Cyr of Dundee and Joanne Cyr-Landry of Campbellton and his grandchildren, Mason Harquail, Brandon Main, Amanda Thomas, Ashley Cyr and Matthew Thomas.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, William and Ronald.



Bertha Mary Sullivan

Passed away peacefully Saturday, October 13, 2001, in her 87th year at Thornton View Long Term Care in Oshawa, Ontario. Bertha will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews and many family and friends throughout Canada and the United States. Loving daughter of the late Crozier and Mary Sullivan. Dearest devoted sister of the late Isabel Nichol, Robert Sullivan and Alice Nichol. A celebration of her life will be held during a family service in Ottawa, Ontario and on Thursday, October 18 at 2 p.m. at Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton. Interment at Campbellton Rural Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bertha made to the Parkinson Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated by her family.



David M. Brooks

The death of David Murray Brooks of Penobsquis, NB, formerly of Sussex Corner occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 7, 2001.

David was born in Fredericton on November 23, 1942, a son of the late Allan and Muriel (Kearney) Brooks.

David is survived by his wife Betty-Ann (Richardson) Brooks. daughters: Heather Green (Derek) of Labrador City and Allyson Brooks of Penobsquis, son, Mark Brooks (Theresa) of Dutch Vallery, brothers: Ken(Diane) Brooks of St. Jacques, NB, Bob (Nellie) Brooks of Caledonia, On., Brian (Jeannine) Brooks of Toronto, ON., and Barry (Adelle) Brooks of Rothesay, sister, Joan McGraw (Abel) of St. Stephen and his grandchildren Megan and Emma Green, Dillian Holland and Alyssa and Devon Holland-Brooks.

David was predeceased by his parents and a niece, Tina Lynn Brooks.

David was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He enjoyed bunting, fishing and the outdoors. David worked at Sussex Cheese and Butter.



Gerald (Jerry) Laviolette
The death of Gerald (Jerry) Laviolette of Campbellton occurred on October 4, 2001 at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital in Moncton at the age of 70.

He was born in Campbellton on March 18, 1931 to the late Alfred Laviolette *July 3, 1986) and Catherine Kasey (September 16, 1969).

He was a postal worker, attended St. Thomas Aquinas Church, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Campbellton Old Timers Hockey Club, a director of the Campbellton Sports Hall of Fame and a member of the UCT.

He is survived by his daughters, Dana Laviolette and Robyn Doucet, his sister Janet Roberts of Calgary, Alberta, and his brothers, George Laviolette of Quebec City and Jack Laviollette and Michael Laviolette, both of Campbellton.

He was predeceased by his son David Laviolette.



Hervé Ferlatte
The death of Mr. Hervé Ferlatte of Dalhousie occrurred at St. Joseph Hospital in Dalhousie on October 13, 2001 at the age of 79.

He was born in Atholville on October 20, 1921 to the late Jean Baptiste (John ) Ferlatte and Blanche Harbour.

He had worked for the shipping department of NBIP

He is survived by his daughter Ginette Ferlatte (Robin) of Toronto, his sons, Patrick Ferlatte (Suzanne) of Dalhousie and Wilfred Ferlatte (Suzanne) of Ontario, five grandchildren, Serge, Jason, Jenny, Mélodie and Ashley, and also by many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Leda (Malley) Ferlatte.



Gladys Clementine Barrett
Peacefully surrounded by her family at Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, October 14, 2001, Gladys (Keough) Barrett, in her 77th year, beloved wife of William Barrett. Loving mother of Peter and his wife Margriet; Christopher and his wife Doreen; Timothy and his wife Charlene; and William Jr. and his wife Katie Saunders, all of Guelph.

Predeceased by her son, David Barrett (1999). Dear mother-in-law of Gayle Barrett. Loving grandmother of Jason, David Jr., Justin, Amy, Ryan, Lisa, Bradley, Chantelle, Rebecca, Michael and Stacey. Great-grandmother of Shaylin. Dear sister of Dora Maki, Ramona McQuillin, Pauline Leveille, Jacqueline Boyle and the late Hazel Nichol, Nora Thorburn, Martin Keough, Leo Keough, Ronald Keough and Joyce Wagner.

Gladys will be sadly missed by her many cousins, nieces and nephews.



Marc Pitre
The death of Marc Pitre of Malauze occurred October 10th, 2001 in Campbellton.

He was born in Campbellton on August 29, 1960 to Paul Pitre and Adrienne Ouellette.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his sisters Johanne (Michel Desjardins) of Fredericton and Barbara (Ghyslain Pelletier) of Balmoral and brother Guy (Donna Cormier) of Campbellton.
