Gerald St. Laurent
The death of Gerald St. Laurent of 1 Maple Avenue, Tide Head, N.B., occurred on November 19, 2003. He was 89.
He was a World War 2 Veteran who served 4 years with the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserves (RCNVR). He was a partial owner and active Executive Member of the Naval Main Brace Club in Campbellton. He had been an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 19, when the Atholville legion Closed.
Gerald worked at the Fraser Mill in Atholville for 44 years until he retired in 1977. An avid carpenter, he was renowned for his woodworking and his ingenious problem solving skills.
He is survived by one son, James (Geraldine) St. Laurent of Calgary, Alberta; one daughter, Martha St. Laurent of Tide head; and one grand daughter, Nathalie (Andy) Rioux of Campbellton . He is also survived by one brother Albert (Ginette) Saint-Laurent of Montreal, Quebec; plus many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and three GodChildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (McAllister) on February 17, 1994, and twin infant daughters, Mary Geraldine on November 22, 1945 and Marie Marjorie on December 11, 1945. He was also predeceased by his brothers Lucien (October 31, 1978), Maurice (August 11, 1981), Paul-Emile (April 10, 1997), Raoul (July 5, 2003) and his sister Rolande (July 8, 2003).
Ida Roy
Roy, Ida - Passed away at Lakeridge Health Corp. in Oshawa on Friday, November 21, 2003. She was the beloved wife of Charles A. Roy, mother of dearly departed Roderick Roy, survived by son Brian Roy and his wife Shelly, daughter, Karen Roy and her husband Jacques Michaud, proud grandmother of Alexis and Allyson.
She is lovingly remembered by her many friends. At her request, there will be no visitation or public funeral service. Private family mass will be held at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Oshawa.
Joan Isabel Cox
Cox, Joan Isabel, 74, of Truro passed away of November 19, 2003 at home. Born in Campbellton, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Ninian and Mary "May" (Gillis) Falle. She was a leading WREN in the Royal Canadian Navy. Joan was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 26 where she was Chairperson of the Bingo Committee and also on the Executive.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas; daughter Sharlene (Stephan) Hennigar, Kemptown; sons; Shawn (Cheryl), Woodstock, N.B.; Patrick, Bible Hill; grandchildren, Shane, Chad, Robynn; sister, Betty Ryan, Sturgeon Falls, Ont; Ruth Nicol, Campbellton, N.B.; brother Billy (Marie) Falle, Runnymede, Quebec.
She was predeceased by brother, Bobby Falle; sister, Marion Irving.
Eva Geraghty
The death of Eva Geraghty resident of the Village Nursing Home, Campbellton, occurred at the nursing home on November 16, 2003 at the age of 92 years.
Born in Atholville on June 21, 1911, she was a daughter of the late William Ferguson and the late Agathe Audet.
She is survived by her children Ronald (Dolores Roy) of Campbellton Arthur (Marie Beaulieu) of Ontario, Marie (Claude Amesse) of Dieppe, William (Anita Bujold) of Campbellton, Howard (Margaret Chedore) of Campbellton, Irene (late Ronald Mahoney) of Campbellton, Laurie (Shelly Adams) of Campbellton, Daniel of Campbellton, Karen of North Bay, Ontario George (Corinne Essiembre) of Campbellton and Susie (Mike Wood) of Riverview and sister Margaret Ferguson.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband Arthur; and two sons Thomas and Ray.
