Alva Straub

Alva Rose Straub, 88, of Bozeman passed away March 17 2004 at Mountain View Care Center. Alva was born August 10 1915, to Joseph and Lena (McIntyre) Bernard in Eel River Crossing, NB, Canada. She is survived by her sons: Brian (Kathy) Straub on Bozeman; Calvin Joe (Lorraine) Straub of Spotswood, NJ; Larry (Janet) Straub of Aurora, CO; and her daughter: Star Craig of Grove, OK. At her request no funeral services are scheduled. Cremation has taken place at Dokken Nelson Funeral Home in Bozeman, MT.

Leo Boisvert

The death of Leo Boisvert of St. Arthur, NB, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, Campbellton on March 19 2004 at the age of 68.

Born in Atholville NB, he was the son of the late Josephine Chiasson and the late Benoit Boisvert. Leo was employed at Belanger's Mill for many years.

He leaves to mourn his two sons Denis (Aline) of St. Quentin and Claude (Geraldine) of Val D'Amour, 13 grandchildren: Stephanie, Sabrina, Carl, Pierre-Luc, Marc-Andre, Marie-Claude, Michele, Stephanie C., Jessica-Emilie, Melissa, Nathacha, Joshua and Erick, two sisters Annie Bujold Levesque of Campbellton and Lauretta Bujold of St. Arthur, two brothers , Gerald (Amanda) of Moncton and Roger of North Bay, Ontario, two sisters-in-law Bernadette "Nina" Bernard (Yvon) of St. Arthur and Therese Lapointe of Campbellton and two brothers-in-law Leo Bujold (Rose) of Campbellton and Omer Bujold of Campbellton.

He was predeceased by his wife Rita and his parents.

The funeral was held from Our Lady of Fatimea Church in St. Arthur on Monday March 22 2004, with Father Emile Godin officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery in the spring.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Savoie Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Delphis LaPointe

The death of Delphis LaPointe of Gravelhill occurred March 18 2004, at the age of 78

Born in Gravelhill, he was the son of the late Frank LaPointe and Stella Gagnon. He is survived by his wife Theresa, daughters Josephine (Wade) LaPointe of Jacquet River, Valerie (Randy) Carrier of Gravelhill, Shirley (Donnie) LaPointe of Lorne, Sally (Donnie) Meade of Jacquet River, Susan LaPointe (Jerry) of Bathurst, sons Delphis Jr., of Jacquet River, Lloyd (Cora) of New Mills, brothers James, Leonard, Lawrence, Clement, Francis, Everette, sisters Janie, Gerdy, Doris, Roseline, Mona, Florence, Cora, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by Muriel Carrier, sons Carl, Delphis Jr. and brother Basil.

His funeral service was held from St. Maria Goretti Church, Lorne, on Saturday March 20 2004, officiated by Father Comeau with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Nash Creek in the spring. Pallbearers were Elliot Carrier, Eldon LaPointe, Clay LaPointe, Neil Bertin, Timothy LaPointe and Grant LaPointe. George (Loune) Pitre Jr.

Passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on March 16 2004, surrounded by his loving family, Mr. George Pitre Jr. (Loune) of Val Damour. He was 66.

Born in St. Arthur on May 3 1937, he was the son of the sate George Pitre and the sate Regina Lurette. George worked as a labourer. He was also active in the community as member of the ATV Club as well as a member of the Restigouche West Liberal Association.

He leaves to mourn his wife Clairine Doucet, mother-in-law Albertine Doucet, daughters Therese Poirier (Vaughan) of Eel River Crossing, Denise Maltais (Laureat) of Atholville, Dolores Fournier (Denis) of Eel River Crossing, Gilberte Soucy (Luc) of EelRiver Crossing, Mona Savoie (George) of Campbellton and Jacqueline Roy (Randy) of Atholville, sons Gilles (Donna) of Richibucto, Michel (Jeanne) of Campbellton, Yvon (Anne-Renee) of Val D'Amour and Geraldine (late Yves) of Val D'Amour, sisters Olevine Hachez of St. Arthur and Marionne Pitre (Leo) of Longueil, Quebec, brothers Ulric (Aline) of Atholville, Raymond (Gilberte) of Balmoral, six granddaughters, 13 grandsons, three great granddaughters and two great grandsons. He also leaves to mourn her sisters-in-law Georgina Jones (Gwynfer), Eveline McIntyre (Gerald), Geraldine Esligar (Gordon), and brothers-in-law Edmon (Anita), Guy (Donna) and Clarence.

He was predeceased by his son Yves (2002), brother Philibert, son-in-law Fernand Fontaine and father-in-law Edmond Doucet.

The funeral was held in Val D'Mour on March 19 2004, with Father Godin officiating. Servers were grandsons Craig Pitre and Jesse Jame. Readers were his daughter Dolores and granddaughter Anabel. A tribute to a wonderful grandgather was rendered by his granddaughter Katy Michaud and a tribute to a wonderful father was rendered by his daughter Therese. Active Pallbearers were Yvon and Gilles (brothers), Vaughan Poirie, Denis Fournier and Laureat Maltais (sons-in-law) and Jason (grandson). Honorary pallbearers were his sons-in-law Luc Soucy, George Savoie, Rrandy Roy, nephews Louis Pitre and Jerry Pitre, son Michel Pitre, brothers Raymond Pitre and Ulric Pitre, brother-in-law Edmond Doucet and grandson Jamie Maltais. Cross-bearer was his grandson Marc-Andre Fontaine. Interment will be in the Val D'Mour Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dignity memorial, Camphellton.

Charles Roy

Roy, Charles A. "Charlie"----At Lakeridge Helth Corp.; Oshawa on Tuesday March 16 2004. Charlie Roy, beloved husband of the late Ida Roy. Father of dearly departed Roderick Roy. Survived by his son Brian Roy and his wife Shelly and dautghter Karen Roy and her husband Jacques Michaud. Proud grandfather of Alexis and Allyson. He is lovingly remembered by his many friends. At his request, there will be no visitation or public funeral service. Private family service was held at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Oshawa. Memorial donations may be made at the Palliative Care Unit at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa.

Donia Pelletier

The death of Donia Pelletier of 352 Route 280 Dundee, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Friday March 19 2004, at the age of 70.

Born in Dundee on July 14 1933, she was the daughter of late Onesime Arseneault and Aline Essiembre.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Rosaire Pelletier of Dundee, mother Aline Arseneault of Dalhousie, daughter Manon Pelletier (Jaques) of Dundee, sons Michel (Patricia) of Dundee, Marc (Rebecca) of Moncton, Mario (Lynn) of Beresford Rejean (Francine) of Campbellton, Ghislain (Judy) of Bathurst and Serge (Denise) of Edmonton Alta., sister Stella Drapeau of Balmoral, brothers Louis, Leon, Meril and Roland, all of Petit Rocher, as well as 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The funeral was held from St. Jean Viennay on March 22 2004, with Rev. R Morrison officiating. Her sons acted as the pallbearers. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dignity memorial, Dalhousie.

Gordon Carmichael

The death of Gordon Carmichael of Jacquet River occurred March 7 2004, at the age of 78.

Born in Archibald Settlement, he was the son of the late Elizabeth Carmichael. Gordon operated the Fina Service Station for 7 years and G & J Fuels for 20 years. He was instrumental in the opening of the school for mentally and physically challenged children. He served on the village council and was mayor of the Village of Jacquet River for several terms. He was also Fire Chief of the village, a member of the Loins Club and Progressive Conservative Association. He played a major role in the opening of the medical center in Jacquet River and was the recipient of the Governor General's Medal in 1993.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanetta (Doucet), their son Kevin of Prince George, and one grandchild Sondra. He was predeceased by one brother, Howard, A funeral service will be held from Bethel United Church, Nash Creek at a later date. Frank (Bin) Duguay

On Wednesday March 17 2004, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 70, passed away Mr. Frank (Bin) Duguay, resident of Richardsville.

Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Romain Duguay.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter Cynthia Hamilton (Michel Mercier) of Tide Head, three grandchildren: Jonathan, Tara and Jean-Michel, three brothers Leonard (Adrienne) of Richardsville, George (Lucy) of Toronto and Charles of Toronto, four sisters: Louise Duguay (Roger) of Ottawa, Rose Girard (Willy Ouellet) of Campbellton, Mary May Duguay of Campbellton and Teresa Duguay (Eugene) of Nash Creek.

Frank was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Hamilton and his parents Romain and Francis.

The funeral was held fromMary Queen Church, Richardsville on Saturday March 20 2004, with Father R. Morrison officiation. Pallbearers were Leonard Duguay, Pierre Duguay, Roger Bourque, Donald Rioux, Charlie Bernier and Aurele Lapointe. Interment will be held in the Rural Cemetery in the spring.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Savoie Funeral Home, Campbellton.
