Reid Chamberlain

Reid Chamberlain passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital after a brief illness. He was 84 years old.

He is survived by his wife Noella Boudreau-Chamberlain, his son Brian, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Duncan Chamberlain and Elizabeth Wilmot, his sisters Opal, Jean, Isabel and Dorothy, his brothers Carl, Reginald, Harold and Lloyd.

As per Reid Chamberlain's request, there was no visitation; his remains were cremated with a Funeral Mass held at St. Anne's Church, Listuguj on Monday, April 5th.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Annuniata (Etta) Farrell Margaret MacDonald

Annuniata (Etta) Farrell Margaret MacDonald, 86, passed away at her residence on April 4, 2010.

Etta was born in Dalhousie. The daughter of Blanche (Main) and Wilfred Brown.

Etta is survived by her five children; David (Beth) of Moncton, Neil (Sharon) of Miramichi, Susan (Bobby) Bowes of Miramichi, Heather (Michael) Lloyd of Bay Du Vin, Hugh MacDonald of Miramichi, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Etta is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Newcombe of Brockville, Ontario, Palma Button of Long Sault, Ontario and brother, Rick Brown of Dalhousie, NB. Etta is predeceased by her husband of 61 years Allan MacDonald this past December.

At Etta's request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 2pm from St Michael's Basilica with Fr John Fraser officiating. A reception will follow in church basement. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Maher's Funeral Home Miramichi, NB serving the Miramichi and surrounding areas for 100 years. Lionel Fontaine
1936 - 2010

Lionel Fontaine passed away at the Saint John Regional hospital on March 30, 2010 at the age of 73.

He was the son of the late Edouard and Antonia (Levesque) Fontaine.

Lionel will be sadly missed by his wife, Margaret Ann (Audfroid) Fontaine and by his sons Edward and Michael (Danie) and grandsons Keegan and Keston. He is also survived by his sister Yvette LaPointe and nieces Diane Lacombe and Lise Zakrevsky. He was predeceased by his nephew, Ronald and his niece, Murielle.

Lionel was a successful businessman in Eel River Crossing for the past forty years. His passion was cars and he and Margaret Ann would often be seen cruising the many car lots from Campbellton to Moncton. His quiet, kind nature will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held from the Holy Trinity Church, Eel River Crossing on Monday, April 5th at 11 a.m. Funeral services were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Balmoral.

Estelle Caron

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on April 4, 2010 at the age of 91,

Mrs. Estelle Caron of the Campbellton Village Nursing Home and formerly of Atholville. Born in Atholville on February 14, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Théodore Bujold and the late Emelia Francoeur.

She was a phone operator at the Restigouche Hospital Centre. She leaves to mourn her daughter Marie Jeanne (Roy) MacDonald from Dalhousie, her brother Valmond Bujold from Atholville. Predeceased by her husband Robert Caron.

The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Lourdes Church Atholville on Wednesday, April 7th at 2pm. Father Wilfred Benoit officiating. Interment at the Parish Cemetery this spring. Pallbearers were La Garde Paroissiale Notre Dame des Neiges. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Denis LeClair

The sudden death of Denis LeClair occurred on March 16th 2010 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 82 years.

Born on February 5th 1928, he was the son of the late Adelard LeClair and Genevieve Savoie. Denis is survived by his children Robert " Claudette", Dalhousie, Bernie "Andrea", NewFoundland, Gwynn Forbes " John" from BC, Wayne & Morley from Hamilton ON, and Doris from golden BC. He was predeceased by his wife Nellie Strong and children Donald, Sandra & Brian and also his brothers Lionel, Ben, Gilbert, Felix & Maurice.

Denis leaves behind several grandchildren & great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers all donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie, NB.

Cecil Eugene Gallen

The death of Cecil Gallen of Benjamin River occurred peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital with his family at his side on Tuesday, March 30, 2010.

Born in Benjamin River,he was the son of the late Joseph & Edith Gallen. Cecil is survived by his son Gene (Laurie) of Bloomington, Indiana, daughters Debra Holloway (Kirk )of Georgetown, ON., and Tina Gallen of Burks Falls, ON. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sarah, Stephen, Amanda, Bonnie, Natasha, Michael, his brothers Joseph (Buddy), Leon and his sisters Inez, Etta, Eileen, Elva, Evelyn, Opaline, Connie and Colleen.

His funeral was held at Bethel United Church,Nash Creek Saturday, April 03, 2010 officiated by Rev. Don Fairweather. Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillans Funeral Home, Black Point. www.macmillansfuneral.ca

Bruce James Borden

Passed away at his residence on March 12, 2010 at the age of 94, Mr. Bruce James Borden of Upsalquitch, NB.

Born on December 23, 1915, he was the son of the late William Borden and the late Agnes Adams.

He is survived by his sons Wallace, Lloyd (Charlotte), Alexander (Kelly) of Upsalquitch, Wayne (Kathy) of Robinsonville and Aubrey (Sandra) of BC, his daughters Wanda Ackeral (Fred) of Glencoe, Marion of Atholville and Kaltha Hoard (Lyle) of BC. He will be sadly missed by eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Lucy Ellen McDavid, a son William and three infant children.

The funeral service was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel Campbellton on Tuesday, March 16th. Reverend Jim Postlethwaite officiating with Ruth Nicol as organist. Pallbearers were his children Wallace, Lloyd, Alexander, Wayne, Marion and his nephew Allan Borden. Interment was at the Upsalquitch Cemetery.

Annette Arseneault

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on April 2, 2010 at the age of 83, Mrs. Annette Arseneault.

Born in Balmoral on April 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Léonidas Marcoux and the late Blanche LeBel.

She leaves to mourn her daughters Suzanne (Jean-Louis) Lussier of Montreal, Pauline (Hugh) O'Hara Quispamsis and Colette (David) LeBlanc, Riverview, her sons Yvon (Lise) Arseneault Grande-Vallée, QC, Jean-Paul (Nicole) Arseneault, Atholville and Marc Arseneault, Atholville, her sisters Isabelle (Jules) Savoie Balmoral, France (Gerard) Parent, St-Maure and Rémance Lavoie, Balmoral, her brothers Eustache (Rémance) Marcoux, Balmoral, Louis (Judy) Marcoux, Balmoral and Roger (Claudette) Marcoux, Dieppe, NB. Also survived by her eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Adrien, daughter Adrienne Shipley and son Claude.

The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Lourdes Church Atholville on Wednesday, April 7th at 11am. Father Armel Audet officiating. Interment at the Parish Cemetery this spring. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Alice Lapointe (Guitard)

DUNDEE - Mrs. Alice Lapointe, 83 years old, wife of late Herman Lapointe, passed away on March 24, 2010 at St John's Regional Hospital.

She leaves to mourn her four daughters, Doreen LeBlanc (Robert), Linda Pelletier (Denis), Barbara-Ann LaPointe (Garnet) of Dundee, Diane Soucy (Richard) McKendrick, also five sons, Donald of Niagara Falls, and from Dundee, Dennis (Joan), Delphis (Violette), Roger (Thérèse), Michael (Danie), also six brothers, Walter, Norman (Carmen), Émile (Georgette), Léandre (Annette) and Philippe Guitard, Alvin (Bertha); five sisters, Claudette Doyle (Gary), Marie Moulton, Jeannette Guitard, Martina Céleste, and Pearl Guitard. She leaves 26 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Delphis Guitard and Rosanna Haché (Belledune), her sons, Ronald (Ronnie) and Jean-Claude Lapointe, three brothers, Raymond, Maurice, Albert, and two sisters, Carmeline Fournier and Florence Thibodeau. The funeral service was at St-Jean Vianney Church in Dundee on March 29, 2010.
