Mona Richard
The death of Mona Richard of New MIlls occurred April 22, 2012 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 76. Born in Nash Creek, she was the daughter of the late Frank LaPointe and the late Stella (Gagnon).
She is survived by her husband Leander: children Leonard O'Brien (Pauline) of Gravelhill, Lance O'Brien (Dawn) of Lorne, Linda LaPointe O'Brien of Jacquet River, Rodney Richard (Michelle) of New Mills, David Richard (Melissa) of Moncton; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; brothers Lawrence, Leonard, Everette; Doris Carrier, Rosaline Mallaley, Florence Mallaley and Cora Lavigne.
She was predeceased by her first husband Delphis O'Brien as well as her brothers Delphis, Basil, James, Francis and Clement.
Pallbearers were: Don Perry, Leonard Lapointe, Glen Lapointe, Holland Good, Lloyd Lapointe and Dwayne O`Brien.
Sanford Charles Alexander Mann
1943-2012
Sanford Mann passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on April 26, 2012 at the age of 68. Born in Mann Settlement, he was the son of Sanford E.J. Mann and the late Queenie Law.
Sanford was a member of the Royal Canadian Dragoons from 1961 to 1992. He was a security guard for District 9 RCMP Campbellton.
Sanford is survived by his wife of 45 years Lynn (McDavid), son Michael (Stacey) of Moncton, daughter Stacy (Adam) Everett of Anapolis Royal, NS. He will be greatly missed by his Ashleigh and Carter. He is also survived by three brothers donald (Patsy), Bevin (Madeleine) Brampton, Ontario, David (Janice) Tide Head, one sister Sally (Paul) Missisauga, ON., many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters Avis Haley and Brenda Firth and grandson Noah Alexander Everett.
Marion MacNeish
The death of Marion MacNeish of Pointe La Nim, occurred at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on March 9, 2012. Born in Campbellton on December 29, 1925, she was the daughter of Sanford and Ellen Mann of Upsalquitch.
Marion is survived by and will be greatly missed by her loving and close sister Lou (Louella) Hunt of Dalhousie, her nieces, Jessica Ferguson-McCarroll and Nancy (Ferguson) Dube, nephews, Adam and Fren Ferguson, stepson Brian MacNeish and his family of Boutelier`s Point, as well as a number of nephews and nieces and other family members both in NB , elsewhere in Canada and in Ireland.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Olive Mann, Beatrice Mann, Florence McEwan, Ruby Cameron, Jerry Davidge and Opal Ferguson.
Marion worked for many happy years as part of a close knit team of accounting clerks and administrative assistants in the Main office at the then C.I.P. paper mill in Dalhousie before retiring by choice at a relatively young age to enjoy a long and healthy retirement. She was throughout her life, deeply involved in her community. At the time of her death she was an active member of the congregation of The First Baptist Church in Campbellton.
Helen Jean Furlotte
Suddenly at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on March 24, 2012, Helen Jean (nee Craik) Furlotte, of Oshawa and formerly of Campbellton in her 91st year.
Beloved wife of the late Lawrence (Larry) Furlotte of Fredericton, lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren Stephanie Furlotte Smith, Christopher Furlotte, Matthew Furlotte, Aleisha Furlotte-Adeboyejo, and Caitlin Harris, dear sister or Marie McNeill of Waterborough, NB and Carol Craik of Fredericton, sister-in-law of Edna Copp of Edmonton AB, Walter Furlotte of Bathurst and Phoebe Craik of Miramichi. Also survived by one aunt, Alice Craik of Miramichi, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Daughter of the late James and Frances (Flieger) Craik, she was born 18 january, 1922 at the home of her grandparents. Annie and Frederick Flieger on Chaplin Island Road (Newcastle) NB. The fifth of 14 children, she was predeceased by brothers William, Kenneth, George, James Aubrey, and infant Arthur; sisters Joyce Newman, Vivian Weed, Phyllis Buxton, Rita Strafford and infant Ethel.
After moving to South Devon, she attended Devon Superior School and Fredericton High School. At age 17 she joined the war effort by working in a munitions factory near Hull, Quebec. At 21, she enlisted in the CWAC`s taking her basic training in Kitchener ON., after which she was posted to Saint John NB., where she met her husband, also a member of the Canadian Army.
After the war, they lived in Jacquet River and then settled in Campbellton where Helen employed at Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
In retirement, she eventually moved to Oshawa to live with her daughter and granddaughter.
Marie Blanche (Durette) Duquette
The death of Marie Blanche (Durette) Duquette occurred on April 16, 2012 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. She was born on March 16, 1928 in Atholville where she spent most of her young live before moving to Montreal when she was in her early twenties.
Blanche worked in Montreal for a good number of years where she was employed by Eaton's. She had many fond memories of her friends and life in Montreal and her most enjoyable years were those spent at the cottage. Blanche was a very proud lady who had a flair for decorating and clothing, always looking so fashionable. Blanche loved to shop, travel, sew, spend quality time with her friends and family and also with her beloved dog Champagne. Blanche moved to oromocto in 1991 where she liv ed with her sister Mida and brother-in-law Gerry for 10 years. She later became a resident of the Minto Special Care Home and also the Orchard View Nursing Home in Gagetown, where she was well cared for by the nurses and staff.
Blanche will be sadly missed by her sisters Mida (Gerry) Morrissey or Oromocto, Bertha (Bevan) Poley of Tide Nead, Yvonne (Roland) Godin of Montreal, Blondine (Everett) Black of Orangeville, ONt., and her brothers Marcel (Kathellen) Durette of Campbellton and Danny (Elaine) Durette of Baie Comeau, and her many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and also her god daughter Linda (Morrisey) MacDonald.
She was predeceased by her mother Edith (Hunt) Durette in 1994 and her Father Daniel Durette in 1958.
The family wants to thank the wonderful nurses and staff of Med 1 of the OPH for all the love and good care they gave Blanche while in their care. You are all angels and we will never forget everything you've done for her. God Bless.
And a special thanks to all our good friends and neighbours for the beautiful flowers, words of encouragement and prayers during this most difficult time. We love you all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Yvonne Miron Lanteigne
Passed away in Dominbican Republic on April 21, 2012 at the age of 85, Mrs. Yvonne Miron Lanteigne.
She leaves to mourn her sons Yvon from Campbellton, Roger (Suzanne) Atholville, and Valmond (Karen) from Campbellton, sisters Juliette from Cornwall, ON, and Doris (Rene) Ottawa. Also survived by her six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren , many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her husband Valmond, brother Gabriel, two sisters Albertine and Viola.
Maria Essiambre
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Maria LeBlanc Essiambre, wife of the late Adelard Essiambre of McLeod, which occurred on May 6, 2012 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.
Born in Balmoral on December 12, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Fidele LeBlanc and Marguerite Bernard. Maria is survived by her nice children; Carmel (Herman Hins), Jeannine (Weldon Valdron), Marguerite (Russell Winchester), Jean Aime (Helen Clark), Henri (Cecile Normand), Yolande (Richard Fournier), Anne Essiambre, Guy (Diane Legresley), Marc (Kathie Price), also by her 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, a sister Gladys LeBlanc, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A very special Thank You to the staff of the Dalhousie Nursing Home for their kindness and excellent care given to our dear mother Maria during her long stay at the home.
Rodolphe "Rudy" Lavoie
Rodolphe "Rudy" Lavoie, 89, of Moncton passed away on May 2, 2012, at the Dr.-Georges-L Dumont University Hospital Center. Born in Campbellton he was the son of the late Irenee "Rene" and the late Marie (nee Roy) Lavoie.
Mr. Lavoie began his career in Campbellton with the CNR prior to enlisting in the air force. He was a decorated war vet having flown 34 missions over Europe as a tail gunner with the Allouette Squadron of the RCAF. Returning home he continued his service to his country with Fisheries and Oceans Canada where he retired as district supervisor with 37 years of service.
His love of the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, was overshadowed only by his love and commitment to his family. As a man, he was a shining example to all. Rudy was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. A true gentleman who lived life with honour, he served with love and kindness.
He was a member of the Dieppe Veterans Association, Club d'Age d'Or and Christ-Roi parish.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice (nee; Leger-Holmes): two daughters; Claire (Daniel) McLauchlan of Shediac and Louise (Fred) Veniot of Moncton; three sons; Paul of Moncton, Marc (Rachelle) of Dartmouth and Gilles (Brenda) of Moncton; three step-children; Terry (Donna) Holmes of Dieppe, Suzanne (Ted) Phillips of Moncton and Michel (Donna) Holmes of Coquitlam, BC; three brothers; Maurice "Crow" (Lyne) of Riviere-du-Loup, QC., Pierre (Ruth) of Montreal and Jacques (Norma-Jeanne) of Moncton; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Jeannette (nee; Ahier) and by one brother Roland.
Isabelle Anne Cuiverwell (Willden) Davis
New Glasgow NS, Isabelle Anne Culverwell (Willden) Davis, age 80, of New Glasgow, formerly of Clementsport NS and Dalhousie NB., passed away on May 1, 2012 at home. Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ella (Oland) Willden, Isabelle grew up in Halifax and the Valley graduating from Sacred Heart Academy in Halifax, in her youth she studied music and dance, particularly ballet. After high school she worked in a bank and then at her mother's Ladies wear shop. She married Walter D. Davis in 1955. They raised a family of three in Dalhousie. She also gave private piano lessons, taught art at the high school and enjoyed painting, gardening and many great family times at the cottage in Charlo. She was lead trumpet in the Dalhousie Town Band for many years and for a time also played trombone. She was involved with choirs wherever she resided, often taking on the director reponsibilities. There were many fine sing-songs with friends and family around the piano and with the accordion around cottage campfires. She also persued her music degree at the University of Toronto when all of her children had raduated university and were establishing families of their own. Surviving are daughter, Anna(Randy) North, Kingston ON.; two sons; David (Rosemary), New Glasgow and Robert (Sally) Port Perry ON.,; grandchildren; Ryan (Jenn) North; Victor (Sonja) North; Jennifer; Feffrey; Christine; Laura; Virginia; (Euan) Petrie; Katherine; brothers; Gordon (Connie) Willden; Vincent (Olly) Willden; brother-in-law Laurie Davis; sisters-in-law; Gertie Willden and May Smith; many nieces and nephews Isabelle was predeceased by her husband, Walter, sister Marion (Gus) Kirner; brothers; John and Ernest.
Dana Clifford Watson
The death of Dana Watson occurred on May 1, 2012 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 81. Born in Kippen Ontarion on November 7th, 1930, being the seventh child in a family of ten. He was the son of the late Clifford Watson and Mayme Churchill also of Kippen.
He is survived by his wife Viola Firlotte Watson, daughter Velvet (Debec, NB) and son Benjamin (New Glasgow, NS) three sisters Blanche (Perth, ON), Ida (Seaforth, ON), Maxine Truemner (Graham) London, ON., also one brother Dick (Suzanne) of St Thomas, ON.
He was predeceased by his first wife Geraldine (Babcock) in 2001, also sisters Ruth, Theda and Betty, brothers William and John.
Dana was employed by Imperial Oil Ltd for many years in Halifax, and later transferred to Moncton. After his retirement in 1985 he moved to Tide Head and operated an Esso Service and Convenience center in Campbellton and later The Villager Restaurant in Tide Head.
While in Halifax, he was very active in the Woodside United Church serving as an elder for many years. After moving to Tide Head, he became a dedicated member of the Campbellton Rotary Club.
Pallbearers were: Justin Babcock, Kevin Babcock, Douglas Firlotte and James Harris.
Wilfred Noel
Wilfred Noel of Dalhousie passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 7, 2012 at the age of 79. He was the husband of the late Jean Thibodeau. He was the son of the late Edmond Noel and Cecilia Duguay.
He leaves to mourn a special friend Helene St.-Onge, his son Robert (Anne Nason) of Grand-Prairie, AB., two daughters Claudette Phillips of Dalhousie and Nicole (Norbert Chouinard) of Balmoral, five grandchildren, one brother Jean-Eudes (Jacqueline) of Montreal, two sisters Winnie (late Wilson Carter) of Dalhousxie and Simonne Plourde of LeGoulet, one sister-in-law Marlene.
He was predeceased by his wife Jean (1992) his son Jean-Claude (1974) and his brother Roger (2009)
Arthur MacNeish
On March 19, 2012, after a brief illness, Arthur MacPherson MacNeish passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital with his only son Brian by his side. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years Marion (Mann) on April 9, 2012, brother Harrison in 2011, mother Francis in 1963 and father George in 1953.
He is survived by his son Brian Arthur, daughter-in-law Shirley (Thompson) beloved grandchildren Rob Douglas and Avery Bale, great grandson Hunter Dylan Cameron, nieces Carla MacNeish Maltais, Clair MacNeish, Nancy Dube (Ferguson), nephews Geoffrey MacNeish, Fred Ferguson, sisters-in-law Earlene MacNeish, Luella Hunt, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Born April 11, 1927 in Campbellton Art grew up on the family land in Point la Nim, built his home and lived his entire life on this land. After being a lifelong employee for New Brunswick International Paper Company in Dalhousie he retired in 1985. Art was a devout Christian, a Free Mason and belonged to the Restigouche Caledonia Society. He loved golf vegerable gardening, snowmobiling and his view of the Restigouche River.
Art was a quiet selfless man who touched many lives and wanted neither praise nor recognition. He will be sadly missed.
Cecile Guitard
It is with great sadness the family of Cecile Guitard of Nigadoo and formerly of Belledune, announce her death at Chaleur Regional Hospital on May 3, 2012 at the age of 80, after a courageous battle with cancer. She faced her illness with such courage, strenght and determination that she was an inspiration to us all.
One of her passions was her job at Danny's restaurant where she cooked for so many people. In the past year she received a pet parrot she named "Sparky" who she adored very much.
Born in Belledune on May 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Richard Comeau and the late Elizabeth (Guitard). She was a loving wife to Gerald Guitard (Valle Lourdes and formerly of Belledune) The best mom anyone could ask for. She is survived by her sons; Jacques Guitard (Sylvie) of St. Remi Quebec, Stanley Guitard (Dorette) of Petit Rocher, daughters: Jacqueline Furlotte (Dalton) of Bathurst, Diane Guitard of Dorval and Barbara Guitard (Allison Carrier) of Nigadoo. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, brothers; Leander, Bert, Henry, John and Polly, sisters: Lena, Martina, and Sheila, as well as her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers; Felix, Ralph, Clarence, Roger, Raymond and sister Yvonne.
Eulalie Mallaley
The death of Eulalie Mallaley of Lorne occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, May 1, 2012 at the age of 82.
Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Mallaley and the late Estella (Lapointe)
She is survived by her son Lawrence (Sandra) of Lorne, Wayde (Pauline) of Lorne, daughter Agatha Mallaley of Lorne, her grandchildren; Teala, Paula, Dexter and Candice as well as her great grandchildren Lucas, Rhiannon, Sydney and Lily. She is also survived by her brothers Cecil and Leon and sister Luduvine Savoie.
Predeceased by her daughter Marilyn, husband Irvin, sisters; Emmeline Godin and Florine Doucet, brothers Clarence and Alphonse.
Pallbearers were; Wayde Mallaley, Lawrence Mallaley, Dwayne Woodcox, Wayne Godin, Leonard LaPointe and Don Mallaley.
Gary MacPherson
The death of Gary Keith MacPherson of Doyleville occurred at his residence on April 27, 2012 at the age of 58. Born in Glace Bay, NS., he was the son of the late Dan J. MacPherson and Mary Margaret (McKinnon)
Gary is survived by his wife Anne (MacMillan); sons Sheldon (Doreen) of Cambridge ON, Darren (Robyn) of Bathurst, four grandchildren; Brookelynn, Ryland, Hannah and Hailey; as well as his brothers Gordon, Forbes and Calvin.
He was predeceased by his brothers Donald and Blair.
Alonzo Godin
The death of Alonzo Godin of Jacquet River occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph Hospital April 28, 2012 at the age of 69. Born in Lorne he was the son of Eva (Chamberlain) and the late Alfred Godin.
He is survived by his wife Velma (Carrier); daughter Denise Thomas (Michael) of Archibald, son Shawn (Anya) of Ottawa; mother Eva, granddaughter Amanda; brothers Edgar, Gerald, Roger, Jean Marie, sisters Norma Gallant, Anne Marie Richard, Lorraine Chamberlain and Huguette Mallaley.
Alonzo was predeceased by his brother Terry.
Leo Noel
The death of Leo Noel of Dalhousie Junction occurred at the Dalhousie Nursing Home, May 1, 2012 at the age of 81. Born in Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Vincent Noel and the late Lydia (Methot).
He is survived by his wife Evangeline (Norma), sons Rev. Gordon of Dundee, Robert (Bob) (Ruth) of Ottawa, daughter Wanda Duguay (Gerry) of Charlo, grandchildren; Robert Noel, Cody Duguay, Shannon Duguay and Joshua Noel, sisters Theresa Decheneau of St Hubert, Helen of Montreal as well as his brothers Raymond of Quebec City and Jean of St. Eustache.
He was predeceased by his sons Gary and Donald.
