Edmond Mercier
Passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on March 26, 2007 at the age of 45, Mr. Edmond Mercier of Campbellton. Born in Campbellton on September 12, 1961, he was the son of the late Henry Mercier and the late Elizabeth Gallant. Edmond was a custodian at the Campbellton Senior High School.
He leaves to mourn his common law wife Kathy Thomas, his son Allan Mercier, his sisters Simone (Derek) Leger, Anne Marie (Michel) Morin, Cathy (Charles) Drapeau, Stella (William) Aubie and Carol Mercier, his brothers Denis (Louise Laviolette) Mercier and Paul Mercier. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Roland Mercier and Gerald Mercier.
The funeral mass was held from Mary Queen Church Richardsville on Thursday at 2pm. Father Morrison officiating. Pallbearers were William Aubie, Gary Aubie, Donald Legacy, Donald Arseneault, Billy Arseneault and Stafford Kerr.

Lloyd H. Smith
Wallace River, passed away March 6, 2007, at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born July 23, 1924, in Campbellton, N.B., he was a son of the late David J. and Mabel (Coull) Smith.
Lloyd was a veteran of the Second World War and had served in the North Atlantic. Following the war he attended Dalhousie University graduating as a pharmacist in 1952. He then reenlisted in the air force, retiring in 1971 and became the chief pharmacist at St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish, retiring in 1988. He moved from there to Wallace where he enjoyed an active retirement of gardening, woodworking projects and his wide circle of family and friends.
Smitty is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mildred (Elliott) Smith; daughters, Kathryn (Jim) Brown, St. Stephen, N.B.; Christine (Allison) Sellick, Wallace River; grandchildren, Simon, Timothy and Martha Brown; Kaitlyn Sellick; sisters, Alyuna Parker, Campbellton, N.B.; Robina Hogue, New Westminister, B.C.; Lida Spinks, Saint John, N.B. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, John Randolph Smith; Leslie G. Smith; sister, Ruby Butler.
Visitations were held at Mundle's Funeral Home. Funeral Service was held at the funeral home on March 9, 2007, with Rev. Todd Cameron officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River, at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Riverside Cemetery Fund.
