Wanda (Moores) Stevenson

The family sadly announces the passing of Wanda Stevenson (Moores) on April 12, 2010 in her 81st year. Wanda resided in Hamilton, Ontario but was born and raised in Robinsonville, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband Ben (2008). Lovingly remembered by her children David and Marilyn, Nancy, Louise, Henry, all of Hamilton, Ont., Bon and Oliver Conway of Vancouver, BC. She was a wonderful grandmother to Adam, Sarah, Jessica, Becky, Willie, Jennifer, Kristy, all of Hamilton, Ont, Katya and Domenic of Vancouver, BC. great grandson Datoka. Wanda was predeceased by her Parents Henry and Eliza Moores and by her brothers Murdock, Alden, Louis, Nelson, Jim, Dick and Harry. She was a loving sister Ethel McDavid of Campbellton and Boyde Moores of Robinsonville, Dave and Shirley of Ottawa. At Wanda's request cremation has taken place. Interment in the Murray Cemetery at a later date. In Wanda's memory donations to the Alzheimers Society, Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

Murray Harvey

The death of Murray Harvey of Nash Creek occurred Thursday, April 15, 2010 at his home at the age of 82. Born in Nash Creek, he was the son of the late George Harvey and the late Lena (McAlister). Murray was employed at Brunswick Smelter for twenty-five years until his retirement in 1992. He was also a founding member of the Jacquet River Legion and was an avid outdoorsman who especially liked hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife Emmaline (Carrier), sons; Jimmy (Linda) of Jacquet River, Danny (Marlene) of Jacquet River, Clay (Brenda) of Nash Creek, Jeff (Jeannine) of Nash Creek, daughters; Linda Allard (Andre) of Kingston, ON, Glenda Hoyt (Bob) of Fredericton. He is also survived by his 26 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, brothers Donnie, Jackie & Lloyd as well as his sisters Marjorie McAlister, Helen Killoran & Shirley LaPointe. He was predeceased by his sons Gene, Tim, Bert & Bobby, brothers Delbert, Arnold, Leonard & Bobby as well his sisters Viola, Hazel, May, Muriel & Daisy. His funeral was held from St. Joseph Church, Nash Creek Saturday, April 17, 2010 officiated by Father David Ferguson. Pallbearers were Patrick Levesque, Claude Carrier, Jamal Jordan,Clay Harvey, Jeff Harvey & Danny Harvey. Honorary pallbearers were Reggie Dempsey, Donnie Harvey, Billy Harvey, Bob Hoyt, Paul LaPointe & Paul Devereaux. A legion service was held following the funeral service. Maurice Bujold

Maurice Bujold of Fleurant Point, QC passed away peacefully at the CHSLD Matapedia with family at his side on March 28, 2010 at the age of 93. He is survived by his sons Sterling "Buzz" (Dorothy) Fleurant Point, QC, Edward (Ivy) Fredericton and Gene (Margaret) Pointe-à-la-Croix; son-in-law Guy Tassé Rosemere, QC; six grandchildren Louise Tassé (Robert) Rosemere, QC, Mike (Lynn) Bujold Fredericton, NB, Lynn Tassé Gatineau, QC, Stephanie Mooney (Jerry) of Williams Lake, BC, Jeff Bujold (Colette) Fredericton and Mark Bujold (Terri Lynn) Rothesay, NB; great grandchildren Chris & Samantha Bujold, Mark & Veronique Drouin, Dominick & Emily Trudel, Ben & Bella Bujold; his brothers William (Noella) Maria, QC, Jacques (Martha), Louis, Normand (Diane) of Montreal, QC, his sisters Eva, Bertha, Jackie (Bill) of Montreal and Claire of St. Omer, QC; sister-in-law Rita Ferguson of Montreal, Marion Good of Dalhousie Junction and Maida Hunter of Ontario. Predeceased by his wife Iola Court, his daughter Alice, brother Joe and sisters Aline & Betty. The funeral service was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel Campbellton on March 31st, 2010. Special thanks to Reverend Cheryl MacDonald for officiating at the service, also to the choir, to our special friend, soloist Norman Parent, who sang Gramp's favourite hymns "One day at a Time" and "Peace in the Valley". The eulogy was delivered by son Ed Bujold, readings by Lynn Bujold and Kathleen Rimell. Interment will take place at Escuminac Cemetery. Pallbearers were his grandsons Mike and Mark Bujold; great grandchildren Chris and Samantha Bujold; nephews Peter Bujold and Stephen Rimell. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton. In a recent letter of condolence, his neice, Kathleen sums up how we will remember Maurice: "Uncle Maurice represented all that is good in men; a great capacity for love & forgiveness, kindness, generosity and grace; amazing inner strength & hope; patience and self-control beyond measure, a heart for service, faith in family, a commitment to community and a trust in Christ. I don't know if it was more of an honour to have known and loved a man like uncle Maurice or to have been known and loved by him...maybe it's both."

Elizabeth T. Myrvang

The death of Elizabeth T. Myrvang of Charlo and formeley of Toronto occurred peacefully at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on Saturday, April 17, 2010. She was 99. Elizabeth Theresa Fitzpatrick was born in Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland, on March 11, 1911. She was the eldest daughter of Patrick Joseph Fitzpatrick, a native of Starlorgen, County Wicklow, Ireland, and his wife, Catherine Devine McAllister, of Greenock, Scotland. She was one of 12 children and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A number of nieces and nephews survive her in Scotland and England. According to the register of baptisms, Elizabeth was baptized five days after her birth at St. Lawrence's Church in Greenock on March 16, 1911 by Father John O'Callaghan. She lived her early life in Grennock and went to work at a young age. When she was 34 she married Jorgen Myrvang of Norway and took up residence in that country. Her husband predeceased her nine years later. A year following her husband's death she came to Canada because she had a brother living near Montreal. He later died and she was left without relatives in Canada. She worked for Algoma Central Corporation sailing on boats and serving in the dinning room. One of the boats she was on sunk but she escaped loosing all her possessions. When she retired she settled in Toronto. A devote Catholic, she was a member of St. Paul's Basilica Parish in Toronto and attended daily Mass at St. Michael's Cathedral. In Norway when she didn't have a ride, she would walk five miles to Sunday Mass. She was a former member of St. Paul's Parish Council of the Catholic Women's League. She was actively involved in helping the poor with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and other organizations in downtown Toronto. On November 30, 2005 she arrived in New Brunswick where she was invited to take up residence in Charlo with Orin R. M. Brimsacle and his late mother, Catherine, Although she missed the conveniences of the city she loved the Bay of Chaleur. She became a member of St. John Bosco Parish and was a member of it's parish council of the CWL. Following a lengthy period of hospitalization in the summer of 2008, she became a resident at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on July 3, 2008. All her long life she had enjoyed walking and even in the nursing home she walked throughout the residence several times each day. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, April 21st at 11 o'clock from St. John Bosco Church with the Pastor Father William P. Arseneault officiating. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Paul's Basilica in Toronto by long-time friend, Reverend Monsignor Brad Massman, Pastor of St. Paul's, later this month. Interment will take place next to the Brimsacle family plot at St. Gabriel's Cemetery in Jacquet River. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
