Leonard Reed Wilson
Leonard Reed Wilson of Matapedia, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, on May 9,2012 at the age of 92. Born in Matapedia on June 8, 1919, he was the son of the late Stephen and Eleanor (McDavid) Wilson.
A WW11 veteran Leonard enlisted in 1939, he served with the First Canadian Anti-Tank regiment in the Sicily, Italy and NW Europe campaigns. A lifelong member of the Matapedia community, Leonard was employed as local police on the log drive, guiding, and for many years with the Riparian Association working on his beloved Restigouche River. During his retirement years he could often be found sitting on his verandah overlooking the meeting of the Matapedia and the Restigouche Rivers, watching the sports land their salmon.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Isobel (McDavid) Wilson, and his children Reid (Susan), Sheila (Gerry), Ricky (Eileen), Allie (Doreen), Judy (Peter), Mike (Bob), Rodney (Cindy), Bill (Jodi), 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

George Levesque
George Levesque of Charlo, passed away at the Palliative Care in Dalhousie on May 11, 2012, at the age of 87.
He is survived by his loving wife Laurence (McIntyre), and much loved daughters Paulette (David Cogliat) of Ottawa, Carol of Charlo, Claire (Martin Clarke) of Aylmer, Louise (David Harding) of Ottawa, and Juliette (Patrick Trudeau) of Ottawa. He is also survived by his sisters Therese (late Charles O'Brien), Gertrude (late John Schneder), Aurorre (Clayton Scholtz), Kathleen (Ray Butler), Lucille (Frank Dumont) and his brother Edgar (Therese). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Sarah, Laura, Courtney, Elliott, Brett, Louise and Billy, as well as by his many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his son Yvon(Nicole), his parents John and Marguerite, sisters Donalda (late Lionel Arseneault),Geraldine (late Bert Thompson), brothers John (Alexandrine), Eugene and Gilbert Marjorie.
George was a proud WW11 Veteran and a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 17, Dalhousie. He as a wonderful man who was loved, admired and respected by his family, his friends and the community.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of the 5th floor Cardiac Services of the Saint John Regional Hospital and the Palliative Care Centre in Dalhousie for their professonal and compassionate care.
Diann Doucet
It is with a heavy heart that the family of Diann Doucet of Campbellton announce her passing on May 15, 2012.
Diann, owner and operator of Sanfar Country Kettle will be lovingly missed by her husband Ernest Doucet, daughter Jessica Doucet (son-in-law Jeffrey) and grandchild Lukas Wolfe. Diann will also be remembered by her sisters Kathleen Ramsay, Doris Parker, Barbara Taylor, and Peggy Nolin.
Arthur Dedam
Arthur Dedam passed away at his residence on May 11, 2012 at the age of 58. Born in Campbelton on February 5, 1954, he was the son of the late Joseph Dedam Jr. and the late Ruby Isaac.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 38 years Gloria (Isaac) son Joshua, sisters Madelaine(George) Holdsworth, Evelyn (Dan) McGuire, Constance Dedam, Debra (Watio) Montour and Donna (Brad) Levesque, brother Patrick Dedam. Also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his aprents and sister Shirley Dedam.
Albert Mair "Mac" MacLean
After a full and blessed life well lived, Albert died May 11, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 90. On a beautiful flying day he took his final flight as he lived his life calmly and in charge, with his loving family by his side. Born in Campbellton on April 8, 1922, he was the son of the late Donald and Marjorie (nee Mair) MacLean.
He was also predeceased by his brothers, Edward, Donald, Hugh, and Bill, his sister Marjorie, his beloved wife of 45 years, Mary (nee Fraser), his son Donald, daughter-in-law Judy, and his close friend Phyllis Wood. He is survived by four children, Margaret Hume (Forrest) of Vancouver, Jim (Joanne) of Fredericton, Joan Myles (Wayne) of St John's NL, and Bert (Noella) of Lakeville, NB., Albert was the proud "Grandpa" of Katherine Hume (Carl Montgomery) of Sechelt, BC, Stan Hume of Guadalajara Mexico, Laura MacLean (Cody Goddard) of State College PA, Anna MacLean of Toronto ON, Matthew MacLean (Rachel MacGillivray) and Jennifer Bruce (Danny Poirier) of Fredericton, Mary MacLean (Brandon Keyes) of Welland, ON., Hutson Myles of St John's NL, Nicole MYles (Brian Brook) of Halifax, Jeremy MacLean and Chantal MacLean of Lakeville, NB. In recent years, Albert enjoyed being "Great-Grandpa" to Clyde, Hanna, Aria, Leif, Bailey, William, Emma, Caleb, Aiden and Cameron. He leaves with happy memories his sisters Mary Rogers of Bathurst, and Jean McDonald (Jack) of Ottawa, ON, and sister-in-law Peggy MacLean of Richmond, BC, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Flying Officer MacLean proudly served in the RCAF during WW11, his ultimate posting being a pilot of Lancaster bomber aircraft with an RAF Crew as part of 630 Squadron stationed at East Kirby, England. Following his war service, Albert married his sweetheart, Mary Fraser, and completed a bachelor of commerce degree at Dalhousie University. He then worked for thirty-three years with Eaton's retail and catalogue divisions in Moncton and Halifax. For over sixty years, he was a very active member of St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder for 45 of those years. The congregation recognized his significant contributions by bestowing him with the honor of Elder Emeritus.
For many years, he continued his dedicated interest in air force matters and in serving his country and community. He was a volunteer and sponsoring body chairman of the R.C. Air Cadet 101 Moncton Squadron, a member of the Board of the Canadian Corp. of Commissionaires and the NB representative of the RCAF Benevolent Fund. He also served his local community through many years with the Greater Moncton Band Festival and the Moncton Regional Development Board. The Moncton Rotary Club acknowledged his work in the community by making him a "Paul Harris Fellow". For many years Albert was an avid lawn bowler at the Centennial Park Club and a curler at the Beaver Curling Club where in recent years he enjoyed meeting friends to play cards.
Albert recently published his memoirs with his daughter Margaret entitied, My Life: Adventures of an RCAF Flying Officer, Eaton's Manager, and Family Man. He launched his book at the joyous family celebration for his ninetieth birthday, which included a concert and reception.
The family extendstheir sincere thanks to the medical and nursing staff of the Moncton Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care of Albert.
Dorothy Mylymuk
It is with great sadness that Dorothy Mylymuk, passed away at a Senoir Home in Whitby On, at the age of 83 on February 21st. Born at Nash Creek, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Yvonne Hickey. She was predeceased by her husband Fred Mylymuk and her brother Arthur Junior. She is survived by 3 step-children, Randy (Clair), Cathy, Penny (Jimmy) and 5 step grandchidlren, Evan, Chad, Christin, Brandon and Ryan. Ten brothers and sisters, Raymond (Ruby), Clem (Jean), Clarence, Amanda (Celestin), Della (Rayburn), Gabe, Iona (Ed), Gerald (Marie), Sheila (Don), Gary (Cathy), and 26 nieces and nephews.
Audrey George Ward
Aubrey George Ward passed away in Halifax on May 3, 2012.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of 52 years, Marion (nee Mooers) who passed away in July 2009, as well as by two brothers, James and Walter.
He is survived by his children Tim, Tony, Peggy and Steve (of Calgary, Fredericton, Toronto and Brentwood Bay) and by his sister Melba Crawford (Lloyd) of Fredericton.
Aubrey was born in Fredericton on July 3, 1932 to Eldon and June Ward (nee Morrell). He spent most of his youth and early married life in Fredericton where his children began their schooling.
In 1968 he moved his family to Alberta, and for 30 years he made Calgary his home. During that time he worked as a teacher with the Calgary Separate School Board, and most particularly at Bishop Grandin High School. He and Marion retired to Halifax in 1998 where they passed much of their time preparing for a favorite pastime; taking Caribbean cruises with the family. Following the death of his wife Aubrey enjoyed relaxing diversions such as his passion for reading. He died at home.
Helena Clement
It is with great sadness the family of Helena Clement announces her passing on May 17, 2012 in Laval Quebec at the age of 59.
Dear mother of Theresa (Todd) Matchim of Riverview, Pamela (Alex Veno) Jean of Campbellton and Valerie Jean of Fredericton, dear grandmother of four grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her parents Clarence and Helen Clement, five brothers and three sisters.
She was predeceased by her husband Murray Jean in 2010.
Yvonne Dempsey
The death of Yvonne Dempsey of Mitchell, wife of the late Eldric Dempsey occurred May 10, 2012 at the Palliative Care Unit of the St. Joseph Hospital in Dalhousie.
Born in Belledune, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Guitard and the late Florida (Comeau).
She is survived by her daughters: Eleonor Bernier (Bob) of Ottawa, Bonnie Mortimer (Herbie) of Calgary, Norma Lavigne (Leo) of Bathurst, Theresa Scholz (Peter) of Bathurst, Barbara Guitard (Allan) of BC, Sharon Guitard of Mitchell, Eileen Hickey (Charles) of Black Point, Debbie Brewster (David) of Edmonton, Lorraine Dempsey (Keith) of Moncton; sons Mark of Mitchell, James (Don) of Jacquet River, Brian (Lisa) of Mitchell, Carl (Stephanie) of Becketville. She is also survived by her 37 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and brothers Delphis and Leonard.
She was predeceased by her son Lawrence and infant son Joseph, grandson Jason Scholz and granddaughter Donna Mortimer, as well as her sisters Elizabeth, Evangeline, Delima, Marie, Isabelle, Evelyn and brothers Ephram, Aurel and Jim.
Helene Chapados Buckley
The death of Helen Chapados Buckley of Dalhousie occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 20, 2012 at the age of 78. Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late Walter Chapados and the late Margaret (Cook).
Helen is survived by her son; Constant Gallant of Drummondville; PQ; grandson Jean Christopher; granddaughter Marie Christian; brother Dough of Pt. LaNim; nephews Ken and Mike Chapados, as well as her nieces Linda carr and Nancy Chapados.
She was predeceased by her husband William Buckley; sister Tilly Martin and brother Bill.
Jacqueline (Alford) Smith
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 15, 2012 at the age of 82, Mrs. Jacqueline (Alford) Smith.
She liked gardening, cooking and family gatherings.
She leaves to mourn her daughters Olive Betteridge (William) of Glen Levit and Donna Smith of Tide Head, her sons Robert Smith of Toronto and John Smith of Atholville, her sister Louisa Haley of Toronto. Also survived by her seven grandchildren nine great-grandchildren, a great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Robert, a daughter Patti-Rae, sisters Janey Harris and Hazel Firth.
