Leola Pelletier

The death of Mrs. Leola Pelletier of 7 rue de L'Anse, Eel River Crossing, occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dalhousie on April 13th 2004, at the age of 79

Born in Campbellton on October 6th 1924, she was the daughter of the late Leo Godin and te late Clara Arseneault

She is survived by her husband Pamphile Pelletier of Eel River Crossing; daughters Leoline (Yvon) Mazerolle of Bathurst, and Pauline (Jean Paul) Picard of Bathurst, Dianne Pelletier of Bathurst, Marie Reine Pelletier of Bathurst, and Ginette (Gilbert) Clement of Moncton; sons Gilles (Annette) Pelletier of Moncton, Leo Charles (Claudette) Pelletier of Balmoral, Jacques Pelletier of Montreal, Jeannot (Helene) Pelletier of Montreal; sisters, Aline Jones, Blanche Poirier, Jaqueline Poirier, Shirley Boissoneault and Nicole Paulin; brother Herby Godin; six grand-children and five great grand-children.

She was predeceased by her parents and her daughter Linda

Roger Poirier

The death of Roger Poirier of Cross Point P.Q. occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on April 9th 2004 at the age of 61

Born in Atholville, he was the son of Gerard Poirier and Helene Haché

He worked as a butcher for Save-Easy for 26 years

He is survived by his spouse Marie Paule Lagace Poirier of Cross Point; his parents; one daughter Denise Poirier (Denis Parise) of Cross Point; one son Michel Poirier of Montreal; two grand-children Dany and Karine Parise of Cross Point ; Five sisters Leona Poirier of Bathurst, Anita Malenfant (Aurele) of Dundee, Rachel Pitre (Ghislain) of St.-Alexis, Lise Diotte (George) of Tide Head; six brothers Leonard (Martyle) of Dundee, Jacques (Milly) of Atholville, Richard (Gisele) of Atholville, Robert "Bobby" of Atholville, Denis (Karen) of Campbellton and Pierre (Elenor) of Toronto. He is also survived by many sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews and his mother-in-law Clarice Lagace

He was predeceased by his sister Pauline Poirier Viennot

Edmond O'brien

The death of Edmond O'Brien of Lorne, occurred on April 7th 2004 at the age of 85

He was born in Beresford, the son of the late Joseph O'Brien and Nelly Chamberlain

He is survived by his wife Hilda (Lavigne);l four daughters Effie Doucet (Daniel) of Montreal, Edith Hickey (Valmond) of Lorne, Donna Carrier (Andrew) of Lorne and Barbara LaPointe (Adam) of Gravehill; also two sons Basil (Betty) of Lorne and Lionel (Bernadine Furlotte) of Lorne; one sister Netta Carrier of Lorne; 11 grand-children and 14 great -grandchildren

He was predeceased by his parents, five sons, Gerald, Conrad, Joey, Nelson and Normand; three brothers Leo, Harold and Babe; three sisters Blanche, Ethel and Eva

Janet Mcbroom

The death of Janet May McBroom of Dalhousie Nursing Home occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dalhousie on April 16th 2004 at the age of 93

Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late Neil McKillop and Elva (Barristo) McNeil.

May lived in Three Rivers, P.Q. for many years before returning to Dalhousie in 1962. She was a long time employee of the Shoppers Drug Mart (formerly Clifford's Pharmacy)

She was a life member of the Atlantic Missionary Society and the Women's Institute as well as a member of the Go Fourth Missionary Society. She enjoyed curling and golf

She is survived by her son Donald (Rollande) Hornbrook of Grand-Bend, Ontario; sisters Eva Bourque of Montreal, and Ellen Zizan of Ottawa, Ontario; grandchildren Michael, Garry, Donald Jr. Janet, Kim and Karen; great grandchildren, Christopher, James, Aaron, Amanda and Jennifer

She was predeceased by her husband William McBroom; her parents; sister Alice Mott; brothers, Ralph, Jack and Wallace; and granddaughter Debbie

Rachel Poirier

The death of Rachel Poirier of Dalhousie Nursing Home at the age of 78

Born in Bic P.Q. she was the daughter of the late Alphonse Lavoie and the late Marie Luce. She was a secretary for St. Joseph's Hospital for 20 years

She is survived by her husband Paul, daughter Jacqueline (Wayne) Bryant of Montreal, sons Jacques of Dalhousie and Andre (Nicole) of Dalhousie, four grandchildren as well as brothers Raymond of Moncton and Germain of Dalhousie

Marie Louise Craig

The death of Marie Louise Craig of 9 Patterson St. Campbellton occurred at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax on April 14th 2004 at the age of 83

Born in Campbellton on January 6th 1921, she was the daughter of the late Reginal K. Shives and the late Louise Wright

She was a housewife while raising her kids and the returned to work as a secretary at the Atholville Mill. She was a lifetime member of the Restigouche Country Club and a member of the IODE

She will be sadly missed by her daughter Ann (John) Howe and son David (Patricia). She will also be missed by her five grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews

She was predeceased by her husband Roderick (January 2004), her parents, by one infant son, by one infant daughter and one brother Robert

Patrick Irvine

The death of Patrick Donald Irvine of 30 Island View in Flatlands occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 80

Born on January 22nd 1924 in Houlton Maine, he was the son of the late James Irvine and the late Margaret Powers

Patrick was retired from the department of Fisheries and Oceans and an Elder of the Flatlands United Church

He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and he served overseas during WWII as a member of the North Shore Regiment (Campbellton)

He will be sadly missed by his daughters Phyllis Irvine of Campbellton and Dale(Ron) of Campbellton; sons Allain (Coralee) and Arlin (Freda) both of Glen Levit; and grandchildren Ryan J.J., Silvia and Austin

He was predeceased by his wife Jackie (Beryl) Irvine (Anderson)

Wallace Murray MacIntyre

The death of Wallace Murray MacIntyre of 15 Cedar St. Campbellton, occurred on Easter Sunday, April 11th 2004 at the age of 81

Born in Campbellton on April 19th 1922, he was the son of the late William MacIntyre and the late Eliza Comely

He worked as a postal clerk for 20 years, was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a veteran of WWII

He will be sadly missed by his wife Edith MacIntyre of Campbellton; daughter Carole (Wade) Durling of South Porcupine, Ontario; son Ralph MacIntyre of Campbellton; brother Ken MacIntyre of the Campbellton Nursing Home; three grandchildren Jennifer; Mathew and Joshua Durling; as well as several nieces and nephews

He was predeceased by his parents; his brother Gilbert (Bert); two sisters June Lappi and Charlotte Gorman
