Vincent Duplessis
The death of Vincent Duplessis of Jacquet River occurred at the Bathurst Regional Hospital March 31,2009 at the age of 76. Born in Jacquet River,the son of the late Stephen Duplessis and the late Mary (Daigle). Vincent was an active member of the R.C.L. for 43 years, was a life member and served as president of the branch on five different occasions totaling an impressive sixteen years as well as a past North Shore District Commander. In addition he also found time to help both the Ladies Auxillary C.W.L. with there bingos, serving as a caller for many years. He is survived by his longtime friend Betty Dempsey, daughter Dale Godin (Gussie) of Jacksonville, NB. sons Darrell (Sandra) of Milton, NB. and Dwayne (Opal) of Lorne, NB. Daughter-in-law Roxanne, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Junior, Francis, David and Charlie as well as his sisters Carmelline, Betty, Trish and Anne. Vincent was predeceased by his wife Hilda and son Douglas. His funeral was held from St. Gabriels Church, Jacquet River, March 04, 2009 officiated by Father David Ferguson. A Legion service was held following the church service. Pearl Levesque
The death of Pearl Levesque of Miramichi & formerly of Jacquet River, occurred in the Miramichi April 5, 2009 at the age of 64. Born in Belledune, she was the daughter of the late Leo Carrier & the late Rosella (Gray). She is survived by her boyfriend Edmond Theriault; daughters, Lynn Duplessis (Eugene) of Jacquet River, Sandra Levesque of Cornwall PEI, Brenda Russell (Adrian) of Miramichi; seven grandchildren; brothers Ronnie, John, Gary & Louis; as well as her sisters Mae Doyle, Theresa Firlotte & Bella Payne. Her funeral was held from St. Gabriels Church Jacquet River, Wednesday, April 8, 2009 officiated by Father David Ferguson.
