Alvin McNair

The death of Alvin McNair of Charlo and formerly of Nash Creek occured at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Tuesday April 14, 2009 at the age of 83. Born in Nash Creek,he was the son of the late John McNair and the late Beatrice (Melanson). Alvin owned and operated McNair's Garage in Nash Creek for approximately 35 years. After retirement, he lived his remaining years in Charlo. Alvin was a Naval Veteran of the Second World War. He was a life long member and the first president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch Number 77 in Jacquet River. He is survived by his wife Lucille (McIntyre), sons; Donald of Nash Creek, Martin (Lise) of Charlo, Richard (Monique) of Charlo, Gary (Puangpayom) of Thailand and Michael (Laurie) of Bathurst. He is also survived by six grandchildren and sisters Theresa and Margaret. His funeral was held from St. Francis Xavier Church Charlo, April 18, 2009 officiated by Father Landry and assisted by Father Benoit. Pallbearers were his sons Martin, Donald, Richard, Gary and Michael as well as his grandson Stephen. Alfreda McDonnell

The death of Alfreda McDonnell of Jacquet River, wife of the late Edwin McDonnell, occurred at the Palliative Care Unit, St. Joseph Hospital, April 16,2009 at the age of 90. Born in Jacquet River,she was the daughter of the late Alfred Murphy and the late Margaret (Culligan). She is survived by her daughters Carmel Pilon (Barry) of Ottawa, Maureen McDonnell (Danny) of Toronto,son Bernard (Judy) of Jacquet River as well her granddaughters Emilie and Kady McDonnell. Her funeral was held from St. Gabriels Church Jacquet River, Monday April 20, 2009 officiared by Father David Ferguson. Pallbearers were David Doyle, Tom Flanagan, Chester Devereaux and Bob Boyes. Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillans Funeral Home,Black Point.

Yvette Lagacy

The death of Yvette Lagacy of Campbellton occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Monday April 13, 2009 at the age of 65. Born in Campbellton, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Bertin and the late Julia Guitard She is survived by her son; Raymond (Garrance) of Bathurst, daughter Linda (Dale Cooling) of Flatlands, Grandchildren Tracy, Eden, Ericka, Selena, and great grandchildren; Cholee and Keegan as well as her special friend Michel Bujold. She was pre-deceased by her son Ricky and brother Yvon. Her funeral was held from Our Lady of Snows Church, Campbellton Saturday, April 18, 2009 officiated by Father Morrison. Pallbearers were Romeo Guitard, Joey Godin, Roger Cyr, Shawn Chamberlain, Gary Cyr and Steven Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers were Lucille Guitard, Brenda Lee Esliger, Jackie Dempsey, Bernadine Furlotte, Mary Hachey, Krista Mann and Denise Hickey.
