Diana Gallant 

The death of MS. Diana Gallant of the Manoir Marie Antoinette, Atholville occurred November 27, 2001 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 87.

Born in Atholville on July 1, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Simon Gallant and the late Angeline Martin. She worked many years as a secretary for the Village of Atholville.

She is survived by sister-in-law Rose Gallant, nephews Ronald (Aline) Gallant of Charlo, Aurel (Geraldine) Gallant of Montreal and Raymond (Therese) Gallant of Mont Joli, and nieces Paulette (Reginald) Doucet of Campbellton, Carol (Roger) Dugas of Moncton, Jacqueline Barret of Montreal, Annette (Albert) Pineault of Dieppe and Marie Jeanne (Jean-Marie) Leblanc of Drummondville.

Funeral services were held from Mahers funeral chapel, Campbellton November 28, officiated by Father Morrison. Interment in the Notre Dame De Lourdes Cemetery, Tide Head.

Readings were given by Adelia Arseneault and Sister Elizabeth Landry (F.M.A). Music and songs were provided by the Pointe La Nim choir.

Pallbearers were Gerald Cyr, Arthur Arseneault, Fred Robichaud and Michel Soucy.

Funeral arrangements were in care of Mahers Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Edna Marie Isaac-Metallic

The death of Edna Marie Isaac-Metallic of 35 Alder Street, Listuguj, Quebec occurred at her residence on November 25th, 2001 at the age of 46.

She was born in Campbellton on February 7th, 1955 to Leonard Isaac and Alona Lavigne.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting.

She is survived by her father, daughter Mandy Metallic (Murray Isaac), son Joey Metallic, sisters Judy Ann Isaac, Pamela Isaac, Audrey Isaac, Lillian Isaac McDavid and Tracy Metallic, all of Listuguj, brothers Jerry Malifont of Montreal and by grandchilren Chris Metallic, Spencer Isaac and Tanner Isaac, all of Listuguj.

She was predeceased by her mother and son Allen Metallic.

Funeral services were held from St. Annes Church, Listuguj on November 28th with father Evariste Landry officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were nephews Drew Isaac and Gregory Issac and John Metallic and Christopher Isaac.

Funeral arrangements were in care of Mahers Funeral Home.


Mrs. Bessie Perron 

The death of Mrs. Bessie Perron of Campbellton occurred at the Campbellton Fegional Hospital on November 23 at the age of 80.

She is survived by daughter Dorise (Emile Pitre), Jean Gallant, daughter-in-law Roberta, sister Dora (Robert Charette), five grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Donat Perron and son Donald.

Funeral services were held November 26 from Christ Church Anglican, Campbellton.

Pallbearers were Robert Maltais, Hector Letourneau, Pat Perron, Wayne Martin, Albert Martin and J.C. Arseneault.

Hounourary pallbearers were Jean Gallant, Brenda Martin, Peggy Martin, Sylvia Levesque, Melissa Bernard and Sharon Martin.

Funeral arrangements were in care of Chaleur Funeral Home, Campbellton.

George Kenneth McRae 

The death of George Kenneth McRae occurred in hospital in Ottawa on November 25, 2001 just after his 80th birthday.

Beloved husband of Joan. Loving father of Caroline and Paul (Chantal). Devoted grandfather of Demlin, Jasmine, Daphne and Annabelle. Dear brother of Jack (Helen) of Toronto and Mary Jane of Campbellton.

He was predeceased by brothers Bill (Ila) and David (The late Joan).

George will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, the ski gang at Camp Fortune and all the special friends he made wherever he went.

He spent five years on war service in Europe with the R.C.E. then 30 years with Sheldons Engineering.

A funeral service was held at the Central Chapel of Hulse Playfair and McGary, Ottawa December 2. Interment okf urn in Campbellton.

Memorial donations to the Parkinsons Society would be appreciated.

Burnett Herbert Brown 

The death off Burnett Herbert Brown of Escuminac, PQ occurred November 23, 2001 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 91.

He was born in Escuminac on April 17, 1910 to the late Herbert Henry Brown and Beatrice Little and was a millwright and farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Ruth Carmichael, daughter Rowena (Mahabir), Wayne (Anista), Barry (Laurel). Lynn (Martha), Robin (Shirley), sisters Irene Gaudin, Ruth Robinson and Blanche Savoy and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services were held from the Escuminac United Church, November 26 with Reverend olive Ann Archibald officiating. Interment in the Escuminac Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were in care of Mahers Funeral Home, Campbellton.


Robert (Bob) Chesser 

The death of Robert (Bob) Chesser, age 61, husband of Gayle of Downsview Ave., Moncton occurred at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital on December 3, 2001 after a year long battle with cancer.

Born at Manns Mountain, N.B. he was the son of Queenie (Gallant) Chesser and the late Patrick Chesser.

Bob had retired from the provincial government departement of finance after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Bernards Roman Catholic Church, Moncton. Active in the community, he was also a charter member of the Campbellton Lions Club as well as a member of the Jaycees in Campbellton. He was very dedicated to his family who were the most important part of his life.

In addition to his mother, he is also survived by his wife, Gayle (Irvine), his daughter Deborah (Brent) Wall of Moncton, His sons Robert (Brenda) of Saint John and Craig of Moncton, sisters Chartotte (Vernon) Englehart of B.C and Patti Daniels of Fredericton, his brother Billy (Lucille) of Manns Mountain as well as his grandchildren Courtney, Hayleigh, Caitlin and Cayla. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, his daughter Kelly in 1987, his sister Margaret MacDonald and brothers James (Buddy) and Jay.

The family will be receiving visitors at Fair Haven Funeral Home 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton today from 6 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, December 6 at 1:30 with Fr. B. Sloan officiating. Reception to follow. Interment will be in Campbellton in the spring.

Murray Charles Pollock 

The sudden death of Murray Charles Pollock came as a shock to all of the community.

He was born August 9, 1914 to Jack and Carrie (Hennigar) Pollock of Glen Levit.

He is survived by son Ian, daughter Kathleen, four grandchildren, four great-grand-children, brothers Coleman, Jack and Guy and sister Bessie Hoar of Fredericton.

He was predeceased by his parents, seven brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held in Peterborough, Ontario.

Mrs. Florida Savoie The death of Mrs. Florida Savoie of Val D'Amour, wife of the late Omer Savoie, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on November 6 at the age of 86.

She is survived by daughter Marie Ouellette (Claude), son Eugene Savoie, sisters Emella Losier (Donald) and Maria Savoie and brother Emmanuel Savoie.

Funeral services were held November 7 from Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur, Val D'Amour.

Pallbearers were Jacques Savoie, Antoine Johnson, Allain Savoie, Armand Johnson, Jean-Guy Savoie and Donald Losier.

Funeral arrangements were in care of Chaleur Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Denis Guitard The death of Denis Guitard of Bathurs and formerly of Belledune, husband of Charlotte (Doyle), occurred November 28, 2001 at the Bathurst Regional Hospital at the age of 82.

He was born in Belledune to Joe Paul Guitard of Belledune and Elizabeth (Chamberlain) of Robertville, N.B. He was a former member of Royal Canadian Legion branch 77, Jacquet River, and a current member of Herman J. Good V.C. Branch 18, Bathurst.

He was a veteran of World War 11 and served in France, Belgium and Germany.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, daughter Jeannette Guitard (Roderick) of Belledune, sons Maxwell (Line) and Robert (Darlene), both of Bathurst, sisters Regina Guitard of Bathurst and Leona Wilcox of Fredericton and five grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, daughter Diane (age 9), brothers Reggie, Emile Arthur and Chuck and sisters Beatrice, Marion and Emma.

Paul Emile Allard The death of Paul Emile Allard of 13 Lansdowne Street, Campbellton occurred November 20, 2001 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 83.

He was born in St. Edgar, Qc., on December 17, 1917 to the late Xavier Allard and Regina Cyr.

He had been a CNR conductor. He is survived by his wife, Madeleine Berube of Campbellton, sons Raynald (Denise) of Montreal and Denis and Michel, both of Cambpellton, sisters Jeanne Allard of New Richmond, Qc, Eva Dugas of Longueil, Qc., and Yvonne Babin of Quebec City, brothers Lucien and Jean Maurice, both of New Richmond and grandchildren Jeremy and Annie.
