Culligan Ida Mary

Culligan, Ida Mary, of Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, and formerly of Jacquet River, passed away on April 27th 2004. Born in Jacquet River on April 22nd 1911, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Ann (Shea) Culligan

Ida graduated from Normal School/Teacher's College, Fredericton N.B., in 1929.

She taught in South Tetagouche her first year and in Jacquet River until 1941 when she accepted a clerical position with the Inspection Board of the United Kingdom and Canada in Ottawa and later at the Ammunition Depot in Renous, N.B., until 1946 when she returned home to care for her ailing parents and to operate the NB Telephone Company switchboard which was installed in the family home in the early 1900's and remained until the change over to the dialing system in the 50's. During this time she was an Agent for Fairweather Insurance, Saint John N.B., and taught an English Literature class at the Ursuline Convent. In 1956 she returned to teaching full time in Jacquet River and in 1960 accepted a position in Campbellton until retirement in 1971. She was a member of the New Brunswick Retired Teachers Association, St. Gabriel's Catholic Women and a volunteer for numerous charities.

She was the last surviving member of her family, predeceased by four brothers, Alfred, Sanford, Leslie, and Ralph and three sisters Rita, Ethel and Eileen. She leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews.

Arnold Hickey

The death of Arnold Hickey of Doyleville occurred April 29th 2004, at the age of 79. Born in Doyleville, he was the son of the late Alexander Hickey and Emily Lapointe. He is survived by his wife Alphonsine (LaPointe), of Doyleville, 3 daughters Betty Weinstein (Norman) of London Ontario, Marsha Tatlock (Paul) of Nash Creek, Peggy Hickey of Doyleville, 1 sister Josephine Hickey of Nash Creek, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Joseph, Howard, Gabriel, Rubert, Giles, Kenneth, Dueward, sisters Mary, Violet, Eva, Rose.

Jacqueline Ann Williams

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on April 25th 2004, Jacqueline Anne Williams of 21 O'Leary St. Campbellton.

Born in Campbellton on August 7th 1941, she was the daughter of the late Harry McDavid and the late Gladys Babcock.

She is survived by her daughter Stacey (Jaques) Landry of Charlo N.B.; sister Carol (Ivan) Mayer of St. Albert, Alberta; grandchildren Samantha Landry and Christina Landry; nephews Todd Savage, Darrell Savage; niece Kimberly Bindon.

J. Martin Aube

Martin Aube, 85, of Dupuis Avenue Lakeville, formerly of Dalhousie, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 27th 2004.

Born in Chatham N.B., on May 20th 1919, he was the son of the late Telesphore and Elizabeth (Elsleiger) Aube. He served with the RCAF during WWII, and was owner of Aube Jewelers in Dalhousie.

He is survived by his sons Maurice (Rose-Helene) of Dieppe, Arthur (Majella) of Eel River Crossing, Terry of Balmoral, sisters Cecile, Evangeline, Lill, Leah, Florence, brothers Adelard, Camille, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Bella (Melanson) and brothers, Edgar and Ernest.

Muriel Delagarde

The death of Muriel Delagarde, resident of the Dalhousie Nursing Home, occurred on April 28th 2004, at the age of 89.

Born in Rexton N.B., she was the daughter of the late James Mahoney and the late Anabelle Finnigan.

She is survived by her daughters Irene (Albert) Smith of Dalhousie and Anne Marie (Michael) Bertin of Dalhousie; sons Robert (Donna) Delagarde of Weysmouth N.S., and Jimmy (Marie) Delagarde of Moncton; as well as 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Robert
