Armand LaPointe

Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Monday, April 16, 2007. In his 71st year, Armand H. LaPointe, loving husband of "Corry" LaPointe (nee vanTrigt). Loving father of Marc and his wife Val, Rene and his wife Vanessa, and Luc. Loved grandfather of Felix, Saskia and Sylvie. Dear brother of Andre and his wife Yvonne, Maria (Mrs. Johnny Murray), Rita (Mrs. Georges LeBlanc) and Anita LaPointe. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and his in-laws. Predeceased by his parents Andre and Delima, and two sisters Cecelia (Mrs. Paul-Emile Arseneault) and Bella (Mrs. Leon Arseneau). Armand taught secondary school over thirty-six years, thirty of those years at O.S.C.V.I. He enjoyed conversation, playing crib and community theatre. A funeral mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Owen Sound on Thursday, April 19, 2007. Charles Poirier

The death of Charles Poirier of Hampton, husband of Lucy (Beaudry) Poirier occurred unexpectedly, April 22, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Dalhousie, son of the late Arthur and Marcella (Lavigne) Poirier. Charles was a supervisor at Irving Pulp and Paper retiring in 2005. He loved music and playing the guitar. Surviving besides his wife Lucy are one daughter, Rachel Warren (Scott), Saint John; two sons, Michael, Innisfil, ON, Ryan, Lacombe, AB; one step-son, Joseph Quigley (Patti), Dartmouth; two grandchildren, Emma and Madison Poirier; two sisters, Jeannine Morton (David), Saint John, Angeline Schmidt (Ron), Acton, ON; five brothers, Gerald, Whitecourt, AB, Romeo (Brenda), Saint John, Germain (Margaret), Hamilton, ON, Lionel (Linda), Bathurst, Danny (Brenna), Hamilton, ON; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister Blanche.

The funeral was held April 25, 2007 at Reid's Funeral Home Chapel, Hampton, with Rev. Leo Martin officiating. Words of Remembrance were by Lucy Poirier. The pallbearers were: Marcel Landry, Maurice Landry, Curtis Lavigne, Shaun Poirier, Rene Poirier and Wade Kyle. Interment was in Fernhill Cemetery. Memorials to Heart & Stroke Foundation, Hospice of Saint John or any charity would be appreciated.

Emile Essiembre

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on April 19, 2007 at the age of 93, Mr. Emile Essiembre of McLeods. Born in Campbellton on September 16, 1913, he was the son of the late Ernest Essiembre and the late Tassianne Francoeur. He worked for the forest service and retired in 1979 after 33 years of service.

He leaves to mourn his sons Raymond from Troy New York, USA and Roland (Betty) from Suwanee Georgia, USA, his sister Evelyn LeBlanc from Campbellton and his brother Hector from Maple Green. Also survived by his grandchildren Steven (Kelly) from Racine, WI, Brian from Calgary Alberta and his great grandchild Annika from WI. Predeceased by his wife Marie in 1985 and his daughter Gisèle in 2005.

The funeral mass was held from Mary Queen Church Richardsville on Saturday April 21st at 11am. Father Armel Audet officiating. Homily given by Louis Arseneault. Pallbearers were "La Garde Paroissiale" of Our Lady of Snow Church. Interment in the spring at the Mary Queen Cemetery in McLeods.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Dryden, Gerald Vernon

Peacefully surrounded by his family at the Royal Victoria Hospital Barrie on Wednesday April 25th, 2007. Jerry Dryden of Barrie was born in Moncton, N.B. on October 20th, 1919. Beloved husband of 48 years to Viola Dryden. Loving father of Karen Dryden-Palmer (husband John) of Barrie and Heather Moreau of Arizona. He will be sadly missed by his 5 grandchildren Emily, Dryden, Reiva, Emerald, and Dalton. Dear brother of Harry Dryden (late Patti). Predeceased by his sisters Mildred Murray (late Ernie), Frances Hughes (Bill) and Gladys Dryden. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME (201 Minet's Point Road at Yonge Street) Barrie on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from Burton Avenue United Church, Barrie on Monday April 30th, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation. Vincent, Glenford "Glen"

Vincent, Glenford "Glen" - 73, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2007, with his family by his side. Glen was born in Dalhousie, N.B., a son of the late Nancy and George Vincent, and brother of 12 siblings. Glen served in the Canadian military from October 31, 1952 to November 24, 1984; he served as a peacekeeper in Egypt in 1976-77. He retired a Warrant Officer (RCA). Glen was proud to serve his country. He is survived by his sisters, Joyce, Leona; brother, Lorne, and by his loving wife and best friend, Loretta; his sons, Don and his wife Charlene, Bruce and his wife Maureen, Gary and his wife Ida, and his daughter, Sandra; grandchildren, Sean, Sonya, Michael, Gary, Kayla, and Garrett; great-grandchildren, Savana, Raven, Calin, and Shane. Glen was talented as a woodworker and enjoyed making crafts for his family. He was an avid reader and took pleasure in a good yarn, and enjoyed discussing writers and books with his children. After his retirement, he spent his summers at his cottage, surrounded by his family. At his request, a private gathering was held for immediate family. Sarah (Quinn) Roberts
1919-2007

Peacefully, in her sleep, Sarah Roberts (Quinn) passed away at the North Minto Residence, Minto, N.B. on March 27,2007. She was the daughter of the late Mary and William Quinn of Wicklow, Ireland. Sarah was an Irish war bride. She came to Canada on the Queen Mary in 1946 to join her husband Thomas.

She is survived by four daughters; Moira (Lawrence), Whitehorse, Yukon; Diana (Tim), Montague, P.E.I.; Marcia (John), Minto, N.B.; Marlaine (Nicholas), Fredericton, N.B.; and son in law, Richard; 9 Grandchildren: Daniel, Noel, Erin (Malcolm), Timothy, Shannon (Robert), Jeffery (Melanie), Sarah, Eammon, Liam; 3 Great Grandchildren: Liam, Logan and Brennan. Sarah is survived by 3 sisters: Margaret (Ireland), Betty (Jim) (Ireland), Anne (Richard) (Australia); 2 Brothers: Noel (Betty), and Lough (both of Ireland); Sister in law Margaret ( Ireland).

Sarah was predeceased by her husband Thomas; daughter Lynn; and grandaughter Megan; 2 brothers Bill and Jim; sister May; sister in law Mary; brother in law James.

We remember her as a kind and generous person, with a great Irish wit. She made a house a home, and everyone who sat at her table enjoyed wonderful meals and great hospitality. Sarah never stopped caring for others, and touched the lives of everyone she met. She had friends of many years over many miles.

The funeral was held at Holy Family Parish, Fredericton, on March 31, 2007. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Dalhousie beside her husband Tom at a later date.

Thomas Aloysius Allen

Passed away at the DVA Unit of the Campbellton Regional Hospital on April 26, 2007 at the age of 93, Mr. Thomas (Tom) Aloysius Allen. Born in Campbellton on November 2, 1913, he was the son of the late John Allen and the late Mary Arsenault. He was a retired carman for CNR. Mr. Allen was a veteran of WW II Royal Canadian Engineers. His favourite sport was hockey but he liked curling, golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing and cribbage as well.

He leaves to mourn his daughter Susan (Bill) Hemy of Calgary Alberta, his son William (Katy) of Riverview NB, his sisters Helen Allain and Gertrude Ford both of Three Rivers Quebec. Also survived by his grandchildren Leslie, Andrew, Penny, Crystal and special friend Donna Biddescombe. Predeceased by his wife Beulah (McDavid) Allen, his sisters Opal, Stella, Dora and Mae, his brothers George, Hector, Edgar and Leo.

The funeral mass was held from St. Thomas Aquinas Church Campbellton on Saturday April 28th at 1pm. Father Bill Arsenault officiating. Interment at the Campbellton Rural Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Sherrard Willis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Willis on April 3, 2007 after a dignified and courageous battle with cancer.

Willis was born in Campbellton, May 18, 1939.

He is predeceased by his mother Rachel, father Elmer and much beloved son Todd. Will was much loved, cherished and will be forever missed by his wife Sandra. He was stepfather to Andrew and Ian, father of Sandra (Rod) grandsons Conor and Evan, daughter-in-law Bia (Todd) and grandson Nathan. He was a much beloved brother of Shirley (Roland).

Also left to mourn are nephews and relatives and many friends.

We will forever miss this honourable gentleman, always full of life and charm and who was loved for his kind and generous ways. He will remain strong and tall in the memory of all who knew him.

A celebration of his life was held at the Boal Chapel Memorial Gardens, North Vancouver, Friday, April 13, 2007.
