Henry Hickey

The death of Henry Hickey of Nash Creek occurred at his home on Saturday June 16, 2012 at the age of 62. Born in Hickey Settlement, he was the son of the late Napoleon Hickey and the late Mary (Carrier).

He is survived by his daughters Spring Guitard (Marcel) of Belledune; Debbie Hickey of Nash Creek; Elizabeth Hickey of Nash Creek; son Bruce Long of Campbellton; as well as seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Rosella, Napolean, Ernest, Russell, Sadie, Andrew, Florence and Evelyn.

He was predeceased by his brothers Percy, Stephen, George, Robert, and sister Emmaline.

Edgar Benoit

Passed away at the Dalhousie Palliatif Care, Edgar Benoit on July 1, at the age of 85. Born on February 24, 1927, son of the late Seraphin Benoit and the late Veronique Mallet.

Edgar is survived by his brothers, Father Wilfred Benoit and Gerard Benoit (Hermance) and several nieces and nephews.

Edward James Martin
1929-2012

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 27, 2012, at the age of 82, Eddie Martin of Campbellton.

He was born in Sydney, NS, the son of Herbert and Dorothy (Hillman) Martin.

He leaves to mourn his wife Marquita (Sherrard) Martin, his son Timothy, Moncton, one sister Shirley MacDougall of Kitchener, Ont., two brothers Herbert (Pearl) of Halifax and Arnold (Jean) of Sydney, NS.

Ed worked for CN for 38 years. He was an avid sportsman, competing in baseball, softball, curling, bowling and golfing. He attended 56 of the last 57 CNR annual bowling tournaments and was the only curler locally still using the corn broom for all his curling games. He belonged to the 400 Club in bowling, the Eight-Ender club of Curling and had a Hole-in-One in Golf.

He was a long time member of Knox Presbyterian Church where he had served as an elder, member of the Board of Managers, and member of the Camp Churchill committee. Ed will be missed by the many organizations in which he was a willing volunteer.

Fay Murray

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 7, 2012 at the age of 80, Mrs. Faye Murray of Campbellton. Faye was a life member of the Flatlands Women's institute and a member of the Campbellton first Baptist Church.

Faye is survived by her husband Harold Murray, two children Deborah Murray of Campbellton and Ken (Wendy) Murray of St. George, four grandchildren Matthew Murray of Charlottetown, Leah (Tim) Godin of Quispamsis, Amanda Faye Maida of Charlottetown and Timothy Murray of Charlottetown, two sisters both of Campbellton Shirley Miller and Margaret Fearon, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Louis Cormier

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 3, 2012 at the age of 66, Louis Cormier of McLeods, son of the late Mathieu Cormier and the late Lucie Anne Couturier.

He leaves to mourn his sisters, Francoise Cormier of Montreal and Lise Lapointe (Everett) of Campbellton and his brother, Bernard Cormier (Suzanne) of McLeods. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters Marie-Paul and Monique.

F. Gary Downs

Peacefully with his family at his side, after a brief battle with cancer, on Monday July 9, 2012, at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre in his 68th year.

Gary was the beloved husband of Audrey (nee Price) for 43 years. Loving father of Michael (wife Heather Forsyth-Downs) and Peter (Wife Alison Kelly). Dear brother of William (wife Marylyn) of Port elgin, NB, Mary Needle (husband Elmer) of Saint John, Ann Smith, (husband Doug) of Lindsay, and the late Thomas (surviving wife Sheila) of New Richmond, Beloved brother-in-law of Ritchie Price (wife Julie) of Pointe-a-la-Garde, Gary will be missed by many other relatives and friends.

Alda Martha Collins

Alda Collins passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 5, 2012 at the age of 95. Alda was born in Broadlands the daughter of the late Leopold and May Connors.

She is survived by her dauhter Anna Lea Bain (Ralph) of Flatlands, and grandchildren Nancy Cook, Halifax; Darlene Bain, New York; and Mark Bain (Line) of Fredericton. reat grandchildren, Courney and Jamie Cook; Brandon and Natasha Bain. She will be remembered with love by her nieces and nephews.

Alda was predeceased by her son John James, her husband James (Jim) her brother John and sister Dorothy.

In early years, Alda was very active in her church, a member of the Choir and Church Treasurer. She was also a member of the Golden Age and a Life Member of the United Church Women.

"Jopuff" Joseph H. Jerome

The death of 'Jopuff" Joseph H. Jerome occurred unexpectedly at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on June 30, 2012 at the age of 57. Born in Boston Mass., on January 5, 1955, the son of the late Lillian Martin.

He survived by his common-law spouse, Ula Carter and his children, Derrick, Shelly, Jonathan, Joseph, Mandy and Chelsea; his two sisters, Ida of Eel River Bar, Gloria Jean of Connecticut, USA; his brother, Richard of Mass, USA, and his stepfather John H. Martin of Eel River Bar.

Margaret Madore

Margaret Ann Madore (Clark), passed away at the Palliative Care Unit of the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 6, 2012 at the age of 82. Born on March 26, 1930.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Frank Madore, daughter Denise Gallant wife of Roger Gallant and grandson Matthew Gallant of Tide Head, and daughter Donna Madore (Lunn) and her husband Gord Lunn of Fergus, Ontario; sister Theresa Guitard of the Campbellton Nursing Home and her husband Gerald Guitard, their children Trina Guitard (daughter Jenna Guitard) and Troy Guitard; sister-in-law Bernice Ferron and her husband Arthur Ferron of Souris, PEI and their family; sister in law Ruby Clark (George), of Bathurst, other relatives Sheila Duncan, daughters Natalie and Jennifer and families (James) of New Richmond, Mary Lou Clark daughters Joy and Nancy and families (John) Miramichi, Brian, Barb and Daryl and families (Wesley and Theresa) Hamilton, Ont., and other cities in Ontario and some relatives in the USA.

Herma Ouellette LeClair

Mrs. Herma Ouellette LeClair, born September 26, 1919 in Val D'Amours, to Octave Ouellette and Marie Levesque, died in peace July 2, 2012. Herma passed away surrounded by her family after a long illness at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.

Herma was predeceased in 1993 by her husband Ovila LeClair, of Dundee NB.

Loving mother of her children Colette and husband Reno Varaschin, Yves and former wife Denise Anderson, Jules and wife Alison Heath; grandchildren; David Varashin and wife Sarah, Julian Varaschin, Daniel LeClair and Nicole Skalij (great grandchild Aviana LeClair expected in August 2012) Alexandre LeClair and Jeremie LeClair. She leaves sister-in-law Viola LeClair Lepage, Lea LeClair and Jeannette LeClair Chouinard of Dundee and was predeceased by her siblings Ovila (Agathe) of Campbellton, Claude (Shirley) of Sudbury, Aldea Thompson (Hyatt) of Hamilton and Winnifred (Emile) Theriault of Campbellton.

Morley James Reginald Foran

Bathurst - Mr. Morley James Reginald Foran, 63, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 28, 2012.

Born in Campbellton, he was the son of James A. and the late Augusta (Geraghty) Foran.

Morley was a well known businessman in the Bathurst area, former owner-operator of Foran Fuels Ltd. and wholesale marketer for Texaco asw well as former owner-operator of City Glass Ltd.

He was also a proud and active member of the Bathurst Rotary Club.

Besides his wife of 34 years, Mariette (Maltais) he is survived by his two sons; Luke of Toronto and Jake of Arichat, Cape Breton; four brothers; Gary (Mary) of Ottawa, Robert of Mississauga, Paul (Monique) of Dieppe and Richard (Stella) of Moncton, four sisters; Bernetta Gagnon of Mississauga, Mary Foran (Kenny Garrett) of Glencoe, Betty Ann Gilker of Ajax and Joan (Philip Roy) of Bathurst and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Pauline (Harry Court).
