Evangeline Carrier

The death of Evangeline Carrier of Lorne occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Saturday April 21, 2007 at the age of 95.

Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of Francis Hickey and Ida (LaPointe). She was predeceased by her husband John R. Carrier, grandson Lonnie, sisters Leona Poirier, Mary Godin, Georgina Godin, brothers Peter Hickey and Hedley Hickey and son in laws Edmond Hickey and Donat Lavigne.

Evangeline is survived by her son Tony (Susan) of Lorne, daughters Sylvia Hickey of Lorne, Tilly Lavigne of Lorne, Jacqueline Lavigne (Alphie) of Lorne, Feeny Barrest of Lorne, Pauliphy Carrier (Allison) of Lorne, Gisele Carrier of Gravelhill, sisters Annie Godin of Lorne, Zita Carrier of Lorne, Julienne Doucet of Charlo, brothers Arsene Hickey of Lorne and Eugene Hickey of Lorne, 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren as well as many Nieces and nephews.

She was an avid church volunteer from 1941 until her death. She was renowned for her cooking and was known far and wide for her sewing, especially her quilting. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Her funeral was held from St. Marie Goretti Church, Lorne, Saturday April 28, 2007, officiated by Father David Ferguson. Pallbearers were Anne Hickey, Fallon Carrier, Nathalie Hickey, Melanie Carrier, Armande Donnelly, Rose Marie Carrier, Rejeanne Davidson, Christopher Carrier, Mason Carrier, Danny Barrest, Kinsey Murphy, Brady Lavigne Plourde. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Marie Goretti Church, Lorne would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.

MacDougall "Doug" Firlotte

MacDougall "Doug" Firlotte, 75, of Upper Coverdale, NB; passed away at his residence on Sunday, April 15, 2007. Born in Campbellton, NB; he was the son of the late Hiram and Olive C. (MacDougall) Firlotte. He was a retired driver with SMT. Doug enjoyed working around the house and was an avid gardener.

He is survived by two daughters Gail Firlotte (Phil Mintern) of Halifax, NS; and Kathy Mann of Campbellton, NB; three sons Danny Firlotte (Lana) of Campbellton, Scott Firlotte of Matapedia, PQ and Dale Firlotte (Melissa Schellen) of Sackville, NB; four grandchildren Christopher and Michael Mann, Troy and Meghan Firlotte; great grand daughter Tristen & Kayden; his father-in-law James Brown of Petitcodiac, NB and his niece Shelley Kennedy of Ottawa.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Jean C. (Brown) Firlotte in 1992 and a sister Dorothy "Jean" Kennedy in 2005. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB with visitation on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 10:00 am with Rev. Steve Berube officiating. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Salisbury at a later date.

He will be missed and remembered lovingly be his family who would like to thank everyone who made donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, visitation at funeral home and all who sent flowers, online condolences, cards and phone calls.

Yvonne Dunn

At the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 3, 2007, passed away Yvonne (LeBlanc) Dunn of Atholville at the age of 87 years, wife of the late Arnold Dunn. She was the daughter of the late Simon LeBlanc and late Marie Dumas.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Maurice (Pierrette) of Atholville, René (Diane) of Moncton, Blanche (Paul) of Beresford, Richard (Marlene) of Atholville, Marina (Donald) of Montreal, Qc., Alice (Darren) of Welland, Ont. and Conrad of Campbellton; her 18 grandchildren and her 13 great-grandchildren; by her sisters and brothers: Gilbert (Noella), Maria, Simonne, Leo (Geraldine), Blanche, Corinne (Carl), Roland (Gisele), Yvon (Monique) and Raymond (Genevieve). Also, many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends will sadly miss her. She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold, her two daughters: Lorraine & Louise, her parents, Simon & Marie LeBlanc and her two brothers: René & Eugene.

The funeral was held on May 5, 2007 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Atholville, and celebrated by Father Wilfred Benoit with burial in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Nicholas Rhindress, Eric Dugas, Sandra Dunn, Bradley Dunn, Joey Dunn and Christina Dunn.
