Alice Marie Doucette
The death of Alice Marie Doucette of 9 River Lane, Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 13, 2005, at the age of 70.
Born in Campbellton on December 7, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Ronald Keeley and the late Cora (Campbell) Keeley.
Surviving are her daughters Colleen Doucette of Ottawa, Ontario and Bonnie (Albert) Richard of Campbellton. Also surviving are grandson Tyler Richard of Campbellton and granddaughter Alyshia Graham of Ottawa, Ontario.
Predeceasing her was her loving husband Edgar Doucette in October 1984 and brother Kenneth Keeley of Grand Falls.
The funeral was held from Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Campbellton on May 16, 2005, officiated by Father Culligan, with interment in the McLeod's cemetery.
Pallbearers were John (Jack) Keeley, Terry Keeley Sr., Irvin Keeley, Ronald Keeley, Wayne Keeley and Richard Keeley. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Colleen Girardin
The death of Colleen Girardin of Squaw Cap occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 26, 2005, at the age of 58, after a short illness.
Born in Campbellton, she was the daughter of the late Robert K. Adams and Beatrice (Thompson) Adams.
Surviving is her husband Hubert (Frenchie) Girardin, sons Zane (Lisa) Yarosloski of British Columbia and Dylan Yarosloski of Alberta, and grandsons Kody and Cooper Yarosloski of British Columbia. Beloved sister to Myrna (Jim) Glidden, Kitty (Jack) Letourneau, Eric (Darlene) Adams and Betty Adams all of the Campbellton area, Robert (Fran) Adams of Goderich, Ontario and Karl (Marilyn) Adams of Ottawa, Ontario. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, cherished nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews and great great niece Amber Glidden Coutange together with surrogate grandchildren Katie and Brooke Kierstead.
Colleen donated her body to science at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Her wishes were that no funeral or memorial service be held. Donations in her memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Campbellton Regional Hospital or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Donald T. LeClair
The death of Donald T. LeClair of 298 Turgeon St., Dalhousie, occurred in Moncton, on May 22, 2005, at the age of 59.
Born in Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Benoit LeClair and the late Rita Robichaud. Donald was employed as a papermaker with Bowater.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Jacqueline Bernard LeClair of Dalhousie, daughters Suzanne LeClair of Dalhousie and Lisa LeClair of Balmoral, and brothers Real (Lorraine) LeClair of Dalhousie, Maurice (Alice) LeClair of Dalhousie, and Ernest "Ernie" (Jeannine) LeClair of Balmoral. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing were his parents Benoit and Rita.
The funeral service was held from St. John the Baptist Church in Dalhousie on May 26, 2005, officiated by Father Edmond Chamberlain, with interment in the Parish Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
Greta Lillian Hicks
The death of Greta Lillian Hicks of 29907 Highway 134 Dalhousie Junction, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 90.
Born in Eel River Crossing on January 15, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Hamilton and the late Margaret Meade.
Surviving is her daughter, Marguerita Clark (late Merve), her sons Lawson (Bonnie) Hicks and Carl (late Aldina) Hicks. Also surviving are grandchildren Leslie Gray, Joanne McNab, Heather Hicks, Jeffrey Hicks, Jamie Hicks, Doug Clark, great grandchildren, Natalie McNab, Kaillee Clark, nieces and nephews Ramona Kinnear, Loise German, David Coull, George Hamilton and Richard Hamilton.
Predeceasing are his parents Stanley and Margaret and husband Byron Hicks.
Funeral services will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
James Rodman (Rod) Mowat
James Rodman (Rod) Mowat passed away at his home in Santiago, Chile on April 12, 2005, with his wife at his side. He was born in Campbellton, N.B. to Earl and Nan (Wetmore) Mowat on January 13, 1925. He attended grammar school and high school in Campbellton and graduated in Geology from UNB.
He is survived by his wife Graciela, five children and eight grandchildren. His only sibling is Nancy (Mowat) McLatchie now living near Sudbury, Ontario.
A memorial service was arranged by his son David and held at Christ Church (Anglican) in Ottawa on April 20, 2005.
John Robert "Jackie" Gillis
The death of John Robert "Jackie" Gillis, of Campbellton, occurred at his residence on May 23, 2005, at the age of 74.
Born in Campbellton he was the son of the late Grace Coffin and the late James Gillis.
Surviving him is one sister Ada (Carter) Coffin of Gaspé, Que., four brothers Frank of Lake George, N.B., Lloyd of Campbellton, Charles (Elizabeth Ann) of Runny Mede, Que., and Clarence of Campbellton. Also surviving are his residence friends George, Billy, Dany, Randy, Roger, Raymond, T. Paul, Léopold and Gordie as well as nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing were his parents Grace and James, sister Alice and brother Freeman.
The funeral was held from Christ Church Anglican in Campbellton on May 25, 2005, officiated by Rev. Arnold Godsoe, with interment in the Dawsonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Gillis, Frank Gillis, Lloyd Gillis, Clarence Gillis, Jean-Paul Savoie, Harold Gillis and Mike Gillis. Farewell to the "World's Greatest Ticket Seller".
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Savoie Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Margaret Fitzpatrick
In loving memory of Margaret (Maggie) Fitzpatrick (nee Sampson) of Dalhousie, New Brunswick, who passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Dalhousie.
Beloved wife of Leo Fitzpatrick (predeceased September 22, 1980). Loving mother of Kathleen Fitzpatrick of Ottawa and Edward (Eddy) Fitzpatrick (Gail) (nee Gilbert) and dear grandmother of Todd Fitzpatrick, all of Charlo, New Brunswick.
Born in Miguasha, Quebec, on September 2, 1911, daughter of Nicholas and Isabella Sampson (nee Casey). Dear sister of the late Albert Sampson (Marie-Onge Assiambre), Rita James (Clement) (nee Sampson) and Olive Casey (Eddy) (nee Sampson).
She is survived by many nieces and nephews; Isabell Hummell (Robert) (nee Sampson) of Toronto, Ont., Rita Jozsa (John) (nee Casey) of Sudbury, Ont., Isabel Scott (Pat) (nee Casey) of Naughton, Ont., Dorothy Anderson (Brian) (nee Casey) of RoseMère, Que., Patrick Sampson (Teresita) (nee Eyton-Jones) of Barrie, Ont., Ralph Sampson and friend Therese of Miguasha, Que., Mike James (Mary) (nee Israel) of Miguasha, Que., Edward Casey (Susan) (nee Connors) of Sudbury, Ont., Kevin Casey and friend Jonelle of Bedford, N.S.
The funeral was held at Saint John Baptist Church, Dalhousie, on March 5, 2005, officiated by Rev. T.G. Culligan, with interment in the parish cemetery in May.
The eulogy was recited by Earl Maloney of Dalhousie and the readings by Linda Bain of Campbellton.
Pallbearers were Todd Fitzpatrick, Brian Anderson, Ambrose Casey, Kevin Casey, Mike James, and Ralph Sampson.
Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
Marion Gertrude Haley Irvine
The death of Marion Gertrude Haley Irvine of 11 rue du Carillon, Matapedia, Quebec, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 18, 2005, at the age of 79.
Born in Matapedia on April 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Haley and the late Gertrude Firth.
Surviving are her sisters Kathleen (Albert), Doreen (Robert), and Laura, and brother Gerald (Ruby) Haley.
Predeceasing her were her parents Bernard and Gertrude and husband John Irvine.
The funeral was held from St. Laurent Church in Matapedia, Quebec, on May 24, 2005, officiated by Rev. Tremblay. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Nolan Joseph Boudreau
The death of Nolan Joseph Boudreau of Moncton, New Brunswick occurred on Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick in 1937, he was the son of the late Willard and Georgina (Letourneau) Boudreau.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan (nee Dawson), his brother Spencer of Chambly, Quebec, stepmother Jane Boudreau, a half-brother Brian and half-sister Carol Ann, both of Montreal and his four loving children, Richard of Toronto, Nancy of San Francisco, California, David of Ottawa and Wendy of Washington, D.C. He is also survived by his grandson Cale of Winnipeg, and his granddaughter, Cleo of Toronto. He is predeceased by his sister Joan.
Visiting was held on Sunday May 29, 2005, at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home, Moncton. Parish Prayers were held on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Funeral mass was celebrated on Monday, May 30, 2005, at Holy Family Church, Moncton. A reception followed in the church hall. Walter Wade
The death of Walter Wade of Campbellton, occurred at his residence on April 27, 2005, at the age of 63.
Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Lillian and Lemuel Wade.
Predeceasing Walter was his father Lemuel, mother Lillian and daughter Lisa.
He leaves to mourn his son Elzear, brothers Robert, Mac, Jack and Keith, sisters Shirley Roussie, Helen Allain and Sharon (Barry) Irvine.
The funeral service was held on April 30, 2005, from Maher's Funeral Chapel, officiated by Father Culligan, with interment in the Campbellton Rural Cemetery. Music provided by Shirley Engstrom and hymns sung by Leopold Richard. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
