SHANNON, Cecil Joseph - Passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Friday, May 4, 2007 at the age of 76, surrounded by his loving family after a brief struggle with cancer. Loving husband of 52 years to Charlene (Legacé) Shannon. Dearly loved father of Gary Shannon of London, Terry Shannon (Minka Tavcar) of Niagara Falls, Tim Shannon (Patty) of London, Mary Lou Collier of Cambridge, Patti Vidler (Scott) of Barrie and Lisa Racz (Steve) of Fenwick. Cherished "Papa" to Ryan, Lindsay, Corey, Adele, Shane, Aaron, Patrick, Rebecca, Adam, Sarah, Andrew, Meghan, Hailey, Rachel, Jordan and Davis. Beloved great-grandfather to Kailyn and Tristan. Dear brother of Clara Ricard (Paul) and brother-in-law of Norma Jean Theriault (Andy), Mae Lawlor (Gerald), Eunice LeClair, Yvon Legacé (Anne Marie) and Theo Legacé (Helen). Mr. Shannon is survived by many nieces and nephews and will be missed by many dear friends. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local #9 Niagara Falls, New York. Corinne Basque Mitchell

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 6, 2007 at the age of 75, Mrs. Corinne Basque Mitchell. Born in Listuguj, QC on December 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Basque and the late Gertrude Arseneault.

She leaves to mourn her daughters Belinda Mitchell of Listuguj, Sally (Peter) Caplin of Listuguj and Fay (Elias) Metallic of Listuguj, her sons Henry Jr. (Jean Mance) Mitchell of Listuguj and Kenny Mitchell of Listuguj, her sister Mona Barnaby of Eel Ground, NB, her brothers Daniel Jr. (Leona) Basque of Listuguj, Peter (Gerry) Basque of Listuguj and Marc Basque of Listuguj. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, her husband Henry Mitchell Sr. and 1 brother Henry Basque.

The funeral mass was held from Ste Anne's Church Listuguj, QC on Wednesday May 9th at 3pm. Father Evariste Landry officiating. Interment at the Ste Anne's Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nicholas Metallic, Derrick Caplin, Dana Caplin, Ashley Mitchell-Honorary Pallbearer, Lance Mitchell-all grandchildren and Steven Mitchell-great-grandchildren.

Edmund J. Grenier

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 13, 2007 at the age of 78, Mr. Edmund J. Grenier. Born in Dalhousie on January 31, 1929, he was the son of the late Sidfroid Grenier and the late Françoise Lavigne.

Survived by his wife Marion, daughters Nancy Hachey (Claude) of Bathurst, Ann Letourneau (David) from Dalhousie, Susan Arseneault (Conrad) of Balmoral, his sons Edmund Grenier (Lolita H.) from Bathust, David Grenier (Eden) from Alberta, John Grenier from Dalhousie and Timmy Grenier from Manitoba.

The funeral mass was held from St. John Bosco Church Dalhousie on Tuesday May 15th at 2:00pm. Father Bill Arseneault officiating.

Randy Louis Carrier

The death of Randy Louis Carrier of Fredericton and formerly of Gravelhill occurred suddenly at his home May 8, 2007 at the age of 35. Born in Fredericton, he was the son of John F. Carrier and Christine (LaPointe) Carrier.

He is survived by his parents, sons Marshall and Jesse, partner Diane Aubie, grandmother Mary LaPointe, brothers John Fidel Jr.(Monique) of Lorne and Preston (Diane)of Fredericton, stepsons Kevin and Jordon and stepdaughters Samantha and Jody as well as four nieces and a nephew.

His funeral was held from St. Joseph Church, Nash Creek Friday May 11, 2007 officiated by Father David Ferguson. Pallbearers were Kevin Aubie, Niel Bertin, Eugene Gauthier, Calbert LaPointe, Louis Carrier and Clay LaPointe. Regina Blanchard

Passed away at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on May 1, 2007 at the age of 97, Mrs. Regina Blanchard. Born in Lac au Saumon, QC on December 5, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Alexandre Tardif and the late Marie Louise Ouellette.

She leaves to mourn her children Antoinette Levesque, Antonio Blanchard, Irène Gagné and Albert Blanchard. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

The funeral mass was held from St-Jean Baptiste Church Dalhousie on Friday May 4th at 11am. Father Landry officiating.

Theresa Savoy

The death of Theresa Savoy of St. John and formerly of Charlo occurred at the St. John Regional Hospital Sunday April 29, 2007 at the age of 74.

Born in Black Point, she was the daughter of Forest Baskin and Melinda Bennett Baskin. She was a former member of the Jacquet River Lioness Club and lived many of her years in Nash Creek. Theresa was pre-deceased by her husband Jeffrey Savoy, brother Henry and sister Bertha. She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Swinimer of St. John, granddaughters Bobbie-Lee Swinimer (Sean) of Fredericton, Tanya Swinimar of Dartmouth, as well as her great grandchildren Olivia and Thurston. She is also survived by her brother Allie and sisters Gladys Ferguson, Bernice Miller, Leona Livingspire and Hazel Easter.

Her funeral was held from Zion United Church, New Mills Friday May 04,2007 officiated by Rev. Don Fairweather with burial in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were David Savoy, Kirk Miller, Tom Nicholson, Aurele Joncas, Raymond Baskin, Jim Flanagan and Troy Doucet. Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.
