Alfred Harquail

Passed away at the palliative care unit at the Dalhousie Hospital on Tuesday July 10, 2012, at the age of 76 years, Mr Alfred (Allie) Harquail of Dalhousie. He was the son of the late Napoleon Harquail and Clara Joncas.

He leaves to mourn his two daughters Sandy Harquail of Dieppe, Lynda Harquail of Terrebonne, Qc and his son Patrice also of the province of Quebec. Allie is survived by his sisters Hazel (Gene Moore), Bertha (Theodore Lapointe), Dorothy (Donald Hamilton), Beatrice (Eugene Lapointe), Vivian (Eric Thompson) , Bernadette (Thomas Bernatchez), Karen (Leo Laxton) and his brothers Ernest "Buddy" (Bonnie) and Danny.

Predeceased by his brother Earl and his sister Theresa (Angus Perry).

Allie will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren, by his many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A quiet serious man, Allie was known to be a master carpenter with a sharp wit and an even sharpewr tongue, given the right discussion. As serious as he was, Allie was known to have a kind spirit and a loving heart for his family, difficult as it was at times to see. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Carmella Winchester

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 23, 2012 at the age of 69, Mrs. Carmella Winchester of Atholville,wife of the late Ivan "Bucky" Winchester.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Marie Lisa Winchester Rosensteel (James E.) of Clermont Florida, her brother Roland Boudreau Sr. (Marjorie) from Bathurst, her sister Marie Claire Seguin from Montreal, brothers-in-law John Winchester Jr (Lorraine) Atholville and Arthur Winchester (Claudette) Atholvilloe and sister-in-law Nancy Blaquiere (Ronald) from Moncton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband Ivan "Bucky" Winchester, brothers Jean-Guy and Rodrigue and brother-in-law Jean Seguin.

Father William Arseneault

The death of Father William Arseneault of Dalhousie occured at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Bathurst, Friday July 20,2012 at the age of 55.Born in Dalhousie,he was the son of Merlene(McGaghey) & the late Raymond Arseneault.

Father William Arseneault was ordained on May 15, 1982 in the Saint John Bosco Church Dalhousie by Monsignor Edgar Godin. Father William Arseneault was vicar in the parish of Notre-Dame du Mont-Carmel in Bathurst, parish of Saint John Bosco in Dalhousie and parish of Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Tracadie.

He served as priest in the parishes of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Campbellton, Sainte Theresa in Bathurst, Saint Gabriel The Archangel in Jacquet River, Saint John The Evangelist in Belledune, Saint-Jean-Marie-Vianney in Dundee, Holy Trinity in Eel River Crossing, Cathédrale du Sacré-Cœur in Bathurst and in the Pastoral Council of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Campbellton, Saint John Bosco in Dalhousie and Saint Anthony of Glen Levit.

He served also as spiritual director of the Catholic Women’s League (C.W.L.), member of the Presbyteral Council and Vicar Forane for the English Vicariate.

He is survived by his mother Merlene;sisters Glenis Arseneault (Paul Emile Doiron) of Tracadie,Gayle King (Norm) of Ottawa;neices Shelley Arseneault,Terra Corvelle & Ashley Thompson;nephew Jason Frenette;greatnephew Ayden;greatneices Trista,Tiana,Maya & Eva as well as his uncles Kevin & Ulton McGaghey.

Jessie May (Welsh) Dickie

Jessie May (Welsh) Dickie of Benjamin River, NB ., passed away peacefully on November 10, 2011 at Groves Memorial Hospital Fergus, Ontario.

Jessie, in her 99th year was the beloved wife of the late Fred Dickie (1959), loving mother of Dora Firth (Marven) of Sudbury, Ont., Joyce Shea (Gerald) of Black Point, Bernice Buchanan of Fergus, Ont., John Dickie (Betsy) of Kitchener, Ont.,Chester Dickie (Linda) Guelph, ONt., Audrey Douglas (Gary) of Quelph, Ont.

Predeceased by sons Michael (1977), Dalton (2011) and daughter Ruby Ritcey Boyd (2003). Jessie was the dear sister of Myrtle Boudreau and Elva Anderson of NB., Predeceased by brothers Austin, John, James and sisters Runice Aubie, Ada Aubie, Mary Boudreau, and parents May (Collins) and Dan Welsh.

Jessie was the proud grandmother of many grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. She remembered the birth dates of most of them.

Jessie spent the winter months in Ontario with familyh; however every May her sons chauffeured mom back to N.B. where she enjoyed living in her own home; Jessie continued to enjoy life by knitting, making quilts, reading, working on cross word puzzle books and bakin. She had the blocks started for a new quilt and she made tea biscuits just two weeks before she died.

The family would like to thank niece Sarah (Welsh) Legace, for staying with her aunt Jessie every night, making it possible for our mother to live in her own home. Thank you also to those who visited her while she was there.

Joyce Parker

Saturday, July 21th, 2012 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 52, passed away Mrs. Joyce Parker of Atholville, life partner of Gilles Lagacé. Born in Campbellton, she was the daughter of the late Corinne Pitre and late John L. Parker.

She will be sadly missed by her common law partner Gilles Lagacé; her brothers: John (Karen) of McLeods and Kevin (Brandy) of Alberta also by many nieces, nephews, members of the Lagacé’s family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Brian.

Roland Charlong

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 22, 2012 at the age of 87, Mr. Roland Reginald Charlong of Campbellton. Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Charles Vincent Charlong and the late Susan Elizabeth Chedore.

He leaves to mourn his daughter Cathy Dickson (Robin) from Tide Head, his sons Charles (Dale) from Tide Head, Kenneth (Cathy) Flatlands, Glenn (Allyson) Campbellton and Gordie (Melanie) Campbellton, his brothers Lloyd (Gabby) Campbellton and Currie also from Campbellton, sister Mary from Campbellton. Also survived by his grandchildren Fausta (Scott), Brookes (Chad), Harley, Carey (Alex), Boyd (Elizabeth) and Courtney.

Predeceased by his wife Theresa, sons Keith and Gary, sisters Margaret and Thelma, brothers Hazwell, Earl and Ralph, his mother Susan Chedore Charlong and his father Vincent Charlong.

Mary Virginia Hachey

Virginia Hachey, 94, of Campbellton, NB, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 19, 2012 surrounded by her loving daughters Veronica Devereaux and Theresa Plourde, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. Born in Dalhousie, NB on April 13, 1918, Virginia was the daughter of the late Frank Valdron and Melvina Valdron (Ward).

Throughout her life, Virginia was strong, independent and hard-working. Following her marriage, she helped to support her family through her work at the Tribune and later by managing a postal substation. Through hard work and determination, she and her husband established a successful printing business, which is today operated by her daughter Theresa Plourde and son-in-law Roger Plourde. Most importantly, Virginia was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her son Wendell (Dawn) Hachey of Ottawa, ON, her daughters Veronica (Paul) Devereaux of Riverview, NB and Theresa (Roger) Plourde of Tide Head, NB, her grandchildren Jennifer (Bill) Anderson of Ottawa, Krista (Tom) Gallant of Tide Head, Robyn Plourde (Kevin Nicol) of Fredericton and Sara Devereaux (Scott Eustace) of Riverview, 10 great-grandchildren, her sisters Geneva Hachey, Kathleen Audfroid and Theresa LeClair, all of Dalhousie, sisters-in-law Jacqueline Caissey (Campbellton), Adeline Mills (Aurora, ON), many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Edward Hachey (1993), five brothers Edmund, Leonard, Edgar, Nelson and Lloyd, two infant siblings, as well as one great-grandson Connor Gallant.

Stephen Wayne Carrier

The death of Stephen Wayne Carrier of River Glade & formerly of Nash Creek occured at his residence on Thursday,July 19,2012 after a lengthy illness at the age of 36.Born in Nash Creek,he was the son of Wayne & Bernadette (Hickey) Carrier.

Besides his parents,he is survived by his daughter Haley Furlotte of Kingston ON;brothers Dave & Shawn;sisters Carrie Smearer & Jennifer Carrier all of Moncton.
