Frances Smith

The death of Frances Smith occurred on May 16th 2004 and the Campbellton Regional Hospital

Born in Glen Levit on October 15th 1923, she was the daughter of the late Barbara Adams and the late James Pollock

She was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother who was admired by both family and friends for her strength and determination. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends for whom she was always ready to lend a helping hand. For 27 years she was a dedicated employee of the Restigouche Hospital Center

During WWII, she was a member of the Canadian Women's Army Corp. for three years and was also a dedicated life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 19, where she served as secretary/treasurer for eight years and was elected the first female president of Branch 19, a position which was held for two years. She was also a thirty-five year member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband Jack, one son Keith (Nancy) MacKenzie of Stoufville, Ontario, four daughters Deborah (Bill) Adams of Bristol NB, Dawne (Bill) Smithson of Winnipeg Manitoba, Dayle Roy of Atholville and Karen (Gary) of Lower Sackville NS; six grandsons, five granddaughters, and nine great grandchildren. Also left to mourn, two sisters, Bertha Adams of Moores Settlement P.Q., and Glennis (Peachie) Pollock of Moncton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers, Whitney Bettridge, Reginald, Ronald, Denzil and Beverly Pollock as well as a grandson Scott MacKenzie

Doris Gauthier

Mrs. Doris Gauthier of Nash Creek passed away on Sunday May 16th 2004 at the age of 62

Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late Louis LaPointe and Mary LaPointe

She is survived by her daughters Paula Sullivan (Jamie) of Miramichi, Elise Roptopoulus (Tom) of Missisauga Ontario, sons; Michael (Shelly) of Jacquet River, Brian (Carey) of Doyleville NB, Jamie (Tiffany) of Nunavut, brother Paul, sisters Peggy Faulds, Marie Larson, Jackie Doucet, Florence Legacy, and 6 grandchildren

J. Albert Savoie

Savoie and Delianne Levesque. He worked for 36 years as a Longshoreman for the N.B.I.P.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Jean Malley Savoie of Eel River Crossing; his mother, daughters Nicole Degario (Gilles) of Campbellton and Sylvia Savoie (Yvon) of Dundee, son; Armand (Laura) Savoie of Tobique N.B., sisters Sylvia (Robert) of Eel River Crossing, Anita (Lionel) Giroux of Dalhousie and Aline Savoie of Edmundston NB

Lester Pictou

The death of Lester Pictou of 13 Sunset Drive, Eel River Bar NB occurred at his home on May 19th 2004 at the age of 66

Born in Eel River Bar, he was the son of the late Francis Pictou and the late Marie Simonson. He worked as a self-employed trucker in the area.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Bernice Splude Pictou; daughters Diane LaPointe of Seaside New Brunswick, Priscilla Pictou , Cathy Pictou, and Rita Jerome all of Eel River Bar; sons Allan, Walter, Eugene, and Harry all of Eel River Bar; sisters, Betty, Evelyne and Stella;; and brothers Victor, Hector; Gerald, Peter Louis, and John. He also leaves to mourn 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren
