Joseph Robert (Bobby) Culligan
The death of Joseph Robert (Bobby) Culligan occurred at the Bathurst Regional Hospital Thursday May 10, 2007, at the age of 73.Born in Belledune, the son of the late Theo Culligan and Frances Devereaux Culligan.
He joined the RCN in 1953 and served 26 years retiring in 1979 whereupon he embarked on a career with Canada Post in his trade as an electrician. He was an active member of his church, was involved in several charities and was an active member of the Atlantic Chiefs and Petty Officers Assoc. Born and raised in Belledune, NB, he worked and raised his family in Dartmouth and upon his retirement returned to his home in Belledune.
He is survived by his sons Joel (Natalie) of Brooks AB, Chris (Allison) of Greenwood NS, Colin of Ottawa, ON, their mother Ann (Connolly) Culligan, grandchildren Kaitlin, Aidan, Ben and Lian, brothers Lloyd of Belledune, Frankie (Karla) of Belledune, Ronald (Marie) of Miramichi, Dale (Gail) of Miramichi, David of Belledune, sisters Anita Smith (Les) of Bedford and Mary Kay Adell of Palm Desert, CA.
He was predeceased by his mother, father and a sister Shirley.
His funeral was held from St. John the Evangelist Church, Belledune Monday, May 14, 2007. Pallbearers were Sean Culligan, Ronald Culligan, Jamie Culligan, Catherine Culligan, Shelley Smith, Stephanie Smith, Michael Culligan and Kimberly Wiley. A memorial service was held at St. Peters Catholic Chuch, Dartmouth on Saturday May 19, 2007 at 9am. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated by the family. Maurice Junior Hickey
The death of Maurice Junior Hickey of Lorne occurred suddenly in Moncton on Thursday May 10, 2007, at the age of 23. Born in Lorne, he was the son of Maurice Hickey and Darlene Hickey.
He is survived by his father Maurice (Yolande) of Lorne, mother Darlene (Raymond) of Balmoral, partner Jessica, daughter Marissa, brother Brad, sister Subrina, grandparents Joan and Fred Cady, Ivan and Joan Hickey, Allison Lapointe and Arsene Hickey, great grandparents Ella Godin, Cecile and Sanford Hickey, and Opal and Charlie Hickey.
His funeral was held from St. Marie Goretti Church Lorne, Monday May 14, 2007, officiated by Father David Ferguson. Pallbearers were Brian Hickey, Alex Esliger, Nick Esliger, Michael Godin, Joey Lavigne and Luke Lavigne. Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.
