J. Colborne Firth
Passed away at the CLSC Malauze in Matapedia on May 23, 2007 at the age of 65, Mr. J. Colborne Firth. Born in Matapedia on January 6, 1942, he was the son of the late Lawrence Firth and the late Winifred Haley.
He leaves to mourn his wife Irma Mazerolle Firth, his daughter Nancy Firth (André Melanson) of Campbellton, his son Steven Firth (Caroline Roger) of Quebec, his sisters Theresa "Ted" Irvine-Smith, Rita Firth of Campbellton, Gertrude MacKnaughton of Matapedia, Grace LeBlanc of St. Omer, Maureen Blaquière of Matapedia and Glenda Gasscon of Pointe-au-Tremble, his brothers Lawrence Firth of Campbellton and Howard Firth of Matapedia. Also survived by 2 grandchildren Travis Wysote and William Firthe, many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by 2 sisters Mathilda Moores and Maxime MacNaughton, 3 brothers Lawson Firth, Richard Firth and Denzel Firth.
The funeral mass was held from St. Laurent Church Matapedia on Saturday May 26th at 11am. Father Bossé officiating. Pallbearers were Carl LeBlanc, Daniel Bélanger, Wayne MacNaughton, Barry MacNaughton, Brian Irvine and Yves Poirier.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Gerard Dubé
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 21, 2007 at the age of 76, Mr. Gerard Dubé.
He leaves to mourn his wife Jessie Isabelle MacDonald, his daughters Jo-Anne (Eric) Kenny of Brampton, ON, Gerry (Art) Malley of Mississauga, ON and Tracey Dubé of Halifax, his sons Mario (Victoria) Dubé of Montreal, Henri Dubé of Listuguj and Marcel (Wendy) Dubé of Tide Head, his sisters Delima (Tootsie) Larocque of Campbellton, Theresa Arsenault of Richardsville, Geralda (Gerry) Comeau of Atholville, Françoise (Paul) Doucette of Campbellton and Susan (Henri) Savoie of St. Arthur, his brothers Richard Dubé of Broadlands and Frank (Nancy) Dubé of Campbellton. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one brother John Paul Dubé and one sister Agnes Goudreau.
The funeral mass was held from St. Thomas Aquinas Church Campbellton on Wednesday May 23rd at 11am. Father Bill Arseneau officiating. Interment was at the Escuminac United Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marcel Dubé, Mario Dubé, Henri Dubé, Art Malley, Eric Kenny and Donald Arsenault.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
John (Jack) W. Harvey

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 26, 2007, with his family at his side after a valiant struggle with diabetes and COPD.
Jack will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 53 years Kathleen (Wright) Harvey and by his children, Kimberley and Henry Leone, John and Kim Harvey, and Max and Val Clarke. Jack's granddaughters will especially miss their Papa and the love he shared with them, Sarah, Mandy and Shayne. Jack is also survived by his two sisters, Bertha Mitton in Dalhousie, N.B., and Kathleen Irvine in Montreal, Quebec. Predeceased by brothers Alymer Harvey, and Moses Harvey, and sisters Evelyn Irvine and Teddy Harvey. Visitation was held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Monday, May 28 and Tuesday, May 29. The Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel today, Wednesday, May 30 at 10 am with Entombment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Masonic Service was held on Tuesday at 9 pm at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital, Rameses Shriners 2100 Keele St., North York, Ontario, M3M 2H4.

Jean-Eudes (John) Blanchard
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 19, 2007 at the age of 84, Mr. Jean-Eudes (John) Blanchard. Born in Pokemouche on February 16, 1923, he was the son of the late Edmond Blanchard and the late Amanda Robichaud. He was a jeweler by trade. He was a veteran of WWII (1942-1945) with the Royal Canadian Navy.
He leaves to mourn his daughter Elizabeth (Etienne) LeBoeuf of Dieppe, his sons Michel (Colline) Blanchard of Ottawa, Bernard (Johanne) Blanchard of Beresford, Edmond Blanchard of Ottawa, Mathieu (Denise) Blanchard of Virginia, USA, Daniel (Diane) Blanchard of Dalhousie and Vincent (Liette) Blanchard of Dieppe, his sister Adrienne Harquail of Dalhousie, and also 17 grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Rita Hughes, his brothers Gérald, Abdon, Charles his sisters Géraldine, Jeannine and his granddaughter Christine.
The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Lourdes Church Atholville on Wednesday May 23rd at 2pm. Father Morrison officiating.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Mathieu P Martin
Passed away at the CLSC Malauze in Matapedia on April 26, 2007 at the age of 81, Mr. Mathieu P Martin. Born in Listuguj on April 8, 1926, he was the son of the late Philip Martin and the late Lucy Francis.
He leaves to mourn his sisters Dorthy Bernard of Pictou Landing, NS and Irene Saphier of Treaton, NS, also survived by nephew Gabriel Wysote Jr. and Vernon Isaac, nieces Greta Wysote, Shirley Francis, Shirley & Jean Isaac, great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Philip Martin, his mother Lucy Francis, brothers Freddy Martin and Frank Martin, sisters Annie Martin (Wysote) and Jeannette Martin (Isaac).
The funeral mass was held from Ste Anne's Church Listuguj on Monday April 30th at 3pm. Father Landry officiating. Pallbearers were Kelly Wysote, Bruce Wysote, Randy Mitchell, Barry Martin, Gerrard Wysote and Sean Wysote.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Norman Welsh
The death of Norman Welsh of Dalhousie and formerly of Benjamin occurred on May 18, 2007 at the age of 62. Born in New Mills, he was the son of the late John Henry Welch and Annie Mazerolle.
He was predeceased by his parents and sisters Jean and Frances. He is survived by his sons Philip and Jason, daughters Phyllis, Patsy, Bonnie, Sarah and Raquel. He is also survived by his brother Daniel, sisters May, Sarah, Elva and 15 Grandchildren.
His funeral was held from Zion United Church, New Mills Monday May 21, 2007 officiated by Rev. Don Fairweather. Pallbearers were Larry Moody, Allen Moody, Daniel Welsh, Keith Jalbert, Guy Dickie and Stewart Dickie. Paul Thibodeau
Passed away on Sunday May 20th at the age of 93 at the Veterans unit of the Campbellton Regional Hospital. He was the husband of the late Cécile Lamirande(1995). He was a veteran of the 2nd World War.
He is survived by his three daughters, Louise Thibodeau (Doucet) of Fredericton, Lucille (Kevin Letourneau) of Campbellton and Madeline (Steve McDonald) of Fredericton; his loving grandchildren, Lisa Doucet (Mario Jodoin), Carol Travers, Philippe Doucet, Tanya and Paul Letourneau, Michelle (Jomie Jardine) and Stephen McDonald (fiancée-Sarah Murray): great-grandchildren, James and Samuel Jodoin, Amanda and Charlotte Travers and Jana Jardine. Last but not least, his loving companion "Sally". He was predeceased by his sisters, Albertine Roy, Robertine St. Onge and Theresa Matherson; brothers, Edgar, Léo and Omer.
A funeral mass was held at Mary Queen Church, Richardsville, on Wednesday May 23, 2007 at 11 a.m. Father Morrison officiating. Burial took place in McLeaod's following Cremation.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Christina A. Richards
The death of Christina A. Richards, Fredericton, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, May 19, 2007. She was 91.
A native of Peninsula, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Lewis McGregor and Isabella (Ross) Ascah. She was the last surviving member of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Richards, Fredericton, one daughter, Barbara Harrigan (Wayne) of Riverview, NB; two grandsons, Eric Harrigan (Monique) of Riverview, Andrew Harrigan (Nathalie) of Quispamsis, one granddaughter, Meredith Buchanan (Andrew) of Fall River, Nova Scotia; great-grandchildren, Drew, Ella, Justin, Emilie and Sarah Harrigan. She was pre-deceased by first husband, Dennis Perman, sisters Joyce Husk, Winnie Millar, Muriel Wallace, Connie Ascah, and Maud Ascah, and brothers Elmer and Laurence Ascah.
Funeral service will be held at the chapel of McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York St., Fredericton on Monday, May 21, at 2 pm with Canon Albert Snelgrove officiating. Interment will take place at the Campbellton Rural Cemetery on May 23 at 2 PM.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
