Maclean, DONALD W.

The death of Donald W. MacLean of Windsor Court, Fredericton, occurred peacefully on Wednesday, June 7th, 2006, following many years gracefully enduring Parkinson's disease. Born in Black Point, Restigouche on June 13, 1920, the only child of the late N. Wilford and C. Grace (MacKinnon) MacLean.

Donald married Jean Macey of Minnedosa, Manitoba on August 5, 1945. His early education was in a one-room schoolhouse. With the help of his well-educated mother, he nevertheless went to University, despite the prior death of a father he greatly loved. He had a distinguished career in forestry research, assisted by his dedicated wife who gave much of herself. In later years he much enjoyed his association with Politicians in another form of public service. He was a dedicated student of genealogy and enjoyed sharing the fruits of his efforts. He loved his New Brunswick and Scottish heritage. Above all he loved his family.

Besides his wife, Jean, he is survived by his only child, Neil C. M. MacLean and his wife, Julie A. of Saint John, one grandson, I. Matthew MacLean of Toronto, ON, one granddaughter, K. Alexa Gauthier and her husband Robert M. of Saint John and one great grandson, R. Cole Gauthier of Saint John.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 10th, 2006 at 1:00 pm from Zion United Church, New Mills, N B. Burial will be in the New Mills Cemetery, Donations may be made in his memory to the Parkinson Society of Canada. Andrew Glendon Ferguson
1963-2006

The death of Andrew Ferguson occurred in Lake Side NS on June 3rd 2006. He was the son of Alsa (MacIntyre) Ferguson, Campbellton NB and James Ferguson, Lake Side NS.

He is survived by his parents; step-mother Bea; daughter Amanda; grandson Jacob and son Allan Ashley all of Dartmouth NS; Brother Allan (Hana), children Patrick, Celtie and Alanna; Sister Leslie, children Evan and Andrea all of Ottawa and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Andrew was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, fishing and traveling. He spent several years in the Royal Canadian Navy and visited many places around the world. His career as a chef enabled him to see Canada from coast to coast to coast.

Andrew will be fondly remembered as "Baldy the clown" entertaining at children's parties, seniors, Sno Fest and many other occasions, anywhere to bring smiles.

Funeral services were held June 7th from Atlantic Funeral Home, Halifax NS with burial in Sonny Side cemetery Whynott's Settlement NS.

Leona Sawyer (Berthelot) Bujold
1929 - 2006

At the Campbellton Regional Hospital, on June 14, 2006, passed away at the age of 76, Mrs. Leona Sawyer (Berthelot) Bujold, of 121 St. Louis St., Atholville, wife of Mr. Valmont Bujold and the late Leonard Berthelot. Born in Rexton, NB on August 18, 1929, she is the daughter of the late Albert Sawyer and the late Eulalie Cormier. Nurse by profession, she was a member of the C.W.L., Hotel Dieu Auxiliary and also enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Boutique at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. She is survived by her daughters: Michelle (Clyde) Brackett, Dartmouth, NS; Paula (Ernest) Trites, Hammonds Plains, NS, Denise (Denis Comeau) Berthelot, Campbellton, NB, Diane (Jean Paul) Langlois, St. Albert, AB, Joanne Berthelot, Darmouth, NS; one son: Denis (Caroline Boucher) Berthelot, Whitehorse, Yukon; sisters: Anita Gay, Toronto, ON, Sheila Sawyer, Drummondville, QC; one brother: Ron Sawyer, Ottawa, ON; grandchildren: Jean-Michel, Kristina Kyle, Néomie and Emma and great grandchildren: Lennon Marie and Kaydance.

She is predeceased by her sister: Maymie (Mike) Barr and her brother Alvin Sawyer.

The funeral was held from St. Anne's Church, Listuguj, QC on Saturday June 17, at 11am with father Evariste Landry officiating. Pallbearers were Denis Berthelot, Henry Metallic, Chase Metallic, Frank Sorbey, Snyder Metallic and Allison Metallic.

Honorary pallbearers were William "Bill" Jerome, Peter Vicaire, Harvey Martin and Gerald Dedam. Interment in the Ste Hélène parish cemetery, Pointe a la Croix, QC.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
