Adeline LaPointe
The death of Adeline LaPointe of Nash Creek, wife of Edmond LaPointe, occurred June 28, 2005, at the age of 82.
Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of Major Elric Doucet and Emily Furlong.
She is survived by her husband Edmond, sons Kenny (Annie) of Belledune, Norman (Marilyn) of Miramichi, Garry (Debbie) of Jacquet River, Ben (Lisa) of Nash Creek, and daughters Elaine Furlong (Glen) of Dartmouth, and Norma Arseneault (Francis) of Jacquet River. Also, surviving are 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, her sister Blanche of Ontario and her brother Leo Doucet of Lorne.
Her funeral was held from St. Joseph's Church in Nash Creek on June 30, 2005, officiated by Father Comeau, with burial in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Ashley LaPointe, Ryan Lapointe, Jordan LaPointe, Ian LaPointe, Mathew Furlong, Amy LaPointe, and Karla Culligan. Blanche Hache Lanteigne
The death of Blanche Hache Lanteigne of Belledune, wife of Leonard Lanteigne, occurred Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst at the age of 65 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Robertville, she was the daughter of the late Hector Hache and the late Edith Doucet.
She is survived by her husband Leonard, daughters Lillane Carmichael (Eric) of Archibald, Suzanne Chamberlain (Roland) of Bathurst, Jeanne of Petit Rocher, sons Ronald and Joseph of Belledune and grandchildren Jeremy Carmichael, Tracy Carmichael, Julie Chamberlain and Annie Chamberlain. Also surviving are brothers Regis (Joanne) of Bathurst, Emerild (Martine) of Bathurst, Jean-Guy (Nathalie) of Bathurst, Michel of Montreal and sisters Juliette Hache (Azade) of Beresford, Violette Hache of Quebec, Laurina Boucher (Roger) of Bathurst, Diane Gamache (Reynald) of Montreal, Marie Liboiron (Denis) of Montreal, Linda Rochefort (Raymond) of Trois Riviere, Denise Boudreau (Roland) of Bathurst, Doreen Girard (Robert) of Montreal, Sylvie Lalancette (Raymond) of Montreal.
She was predeceased by brothers Roger, Isae, and sisters Edwidge, and Marie-Rose.
Her funeral was held Saturday, July 2, 2005, from St. John the Evangelist Church, Belledune, officiated by Father Wilfred Benoit. Following cremation, burial will be in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were her brothers: Regis, Emerild, Jean-Guy, Michel and her brothers-in-law Robert Girard and Roland Boudreau. Edith L. Adams
Passed away quietly at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 28, 2005 in her 85th year. A lifelong resident of Campbellton, she spent most of her working life as an office manager for the Campbellton branch of the Atlantic Wholesalers.
She was a devoted supported of the United Church of Canada in Campbellton and an active member of the UCW. She was a member of the Heritage Society of New Brunswick and the New Brunswick Scottish Society.
The youngest daughter of the late James Adams and Flora MacDonald Adams, she was predeceased by her sister Fyfe Sullivan, and two brothers Lyall and Sidney. Edith was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Josephine Adams of Bathurst, N.B. (spouse Sydney) and their children, Susan, Kathy, Paula, Anne, Gregory, Timothy, Thomas and William; and the sons of Fyfe, James (late Mary) Sullivan of Halifax, N.S., and David (Lin) Sullivan of Victoria, B.C. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved by all and will be sadly missed.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Campbellton Regional Hospital for making Edith's last two months as comfortable as possible. Special thanks to the loving care givers whose friendship Edith greatly enjoyed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Soldiers Memorial Villa, Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
The funeral was held on Saturday, July 2, 2005 in the chapel of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton, with visitation held on Friday, July 1, 2005. Following interment in the rural cemetery, the family hosted a reception at Edith's home in McLeod's.
Eleanor Mary Heck (nee Connell)
Eleanor Heck (Connell) passed away on May 25, 2005, at Sheridan Villa Home in Mississauga, Ontario at the age of 78.
Eleanor taught school in Campbellton and Chatham, New Brunswick as well as in Mississauga, Ontario. She was a member of the St. Mary Star of the Sea and the Catholic Women's League.
Eleanor is survived by husband John P. Heck, three sons Paul (Cathy), Peter, Carl (Huguette) and step-daughter Rita (Gordon), eight grandchildren and by siblings, Rev. Arthur B. Connell, Gertrude Venn, Frances Murray and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Frederick Connell and Margaret Phelan, step-son Dougie Heck and family members Margery, Alice (Golesie), Jack, Leo, Catherine and Jimmy Connell.
The funeral was held on May 28, 2005, from Skinner and Middlebrook Funeral Home, Mississauga to St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mary Genevieve Fern (Hebert) Allain
The death of Mary Genevieve Fern (Hebert) Allain, of 225 Lily Lake Road, Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 29, 2005, at the age of 74.
Born in Richardsville, N.B. on April 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Hebert and the late May Diotte. Fern was a member of the board of executives for the Village Nursing Home, member of the Campbellton Bridge Club and member of the Restigouche Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
She leaves to mourn her husband J. Louis Philippe (Phil) Allain, daughters Ann (Jonathan Edwards), Jane (Steven Johnson), Margot (John Hutchinson), Rebecca and Deborah (George Gibb), son Marc (Susan Johnson), sister Joyce St. Onge (Bill). Also surviving are grandchildren Ana-Michelle, René and Riel Allain; Gabriel and Liam Gibb; Cyrus, Justin and Shereen Kangarloo; Ricky, Sarah, Paul and Laura Hutchinson and Alexandre Johnson, great grandson Ayden Hutchinson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing were her parents Ralph and May.
The funeral will be held on Monday, July 11, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. from Notre Dame des Neiges Church in Campbellton, officiated by Father Romeo Morrison, with interment in the Marie-Reine Cemetery in Richardsville. Pallbearers will be Paul Hutchinson, Gabriel Gibb, Cyrus Kangarloo and Riel Allain. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Joshua Flanagan
The accidental death of 28 year old Joshua Flanagan, son of Mary (Flanagan) Menzies and James Flanagan, occurred in Ottawa, June 17.
Funeral service was held, Tuesday June 21 at St. Michaels Bascilia, Miramichi. Interment in St. Michaels Cemetery.
Not only is Josh survived by his Mum and Dad, but also a brother Jason (Stephanie) Moncton, stepbrother Parker and stepsister Lincoln (Miramichi) - Grandmother Joyce Allison (Campbellton) and several uncles, aunts, cousins and good friends.
Marc Landry
The death of Marc Landry of 288 Notre Dame Street, Atholville, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 1, 2005, at the age of 39.
Born in Campbellton on June 14, 1966, he was the son of Gerard Landry and the late Alice (Vautour) Landry.
Surviving is his common-law wife Joselyne Doucet, father Gerard Landry of Campbellton, son Serge Landry of Quebec, brothers Gilbert (Francine) Landry of Repantigny, Edgar (Charline Lanteigne) Landry of Campbellton, Claude (Lori) Landry of Calgary, Sylvain (Debbra) Landry of Campbellton, Robert (Angella) Landry of London, Ont., Guy (Linda) Landry of Kitchener, Ont., as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from Our Lady of Snows Church in Campbellton on July 4, 2005, officiated by Father Romeo Morrison, with interment in the Notre Dame des Neiges Cemetery in Campbellton. Pallbearers were Serge Landry, Gilbert Landry, Sylvain Landry, Robert Landry, Jean Guy Landry, and Francois Doucet. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
