Douglas Guitard

The death of Douglas Guitard of Belledune occurred Monday, May 28, 2007, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 75. Born in Belledune, he was the son of the late Joseph and Edith Gladys Guitard.

He is survived by his wife Patsy, daughter Tanya Duguay (Clay) of Listuguj, son Bernard of Toronto, grandchildren Cody and Muin as well as his brothers Rickey and Wallace and sister Edna Defeno. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Leander, Kenneth and Gordon and sisters Jeannie, Bonnie and Mona.

His funeral was held from St. John the Evangelist Church, Belledune Friday June 1, 2007, officiated by Father David Ferguson. Pallbearers were Bernard Guitard, Clay Duguay, Everette Boulay, Rene Cormier, Andrew Gauthier and Raymond Landry. Eveline LeBlanc

Passed away at the Campbellton Village Nursing Home on June 4, 2007 at the age of 94, Mrs. Eveline LeBlanc. Born in Campbellton on September 20, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Edward Levesque and the late Cecile Guidry.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Carmelle (Guy) Gallant of Montreal. Also survived by 3 grandchildren Lise, Monette (Eric) Grow and Daniel, 2 great-grandchildren Kevin and Matthew, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Arnold, 1 brother Alonzo Levesque and 2 sisters Lydia Poirier and Edna Levesque.

The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Snow Church Campbellton on Thursday June 7th at 2pm. Father Roméo Morrison officiating. Interment at the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers were the Our Lady of Snow Parish Guards. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Mary Blais

The death of Mary Blais of Nash Creek, wife of the late Alex Blais occurred Friday, May 25, 2007, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 96. Born in Doyleville, she was the daughter of the late John Esliger and Mary Furlotte Esliger.

She is survived by her sons Lawrence of Nash Creek and Donald of Jacquet River as well as 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers James, Arthur, William and his sisters Flora and Josephine.

Her funeral was held from St. Joseph Church, Nash Creek Monday May 28, 2007, officiated by Father David Ferguson. Pallbearers were - Wallace LaPointe, Chris Blais, Alex Blais, Ronnie LaPointe, Danny Smearer and Bobby Landry. Mary LeBlanc

At the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 13, 2007, passed away Mary LeBlanc of Atholville at the age of 74 years. She was the daughter of the late Philippe Adams and the late Angeline Lagacé.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Louise Bernard (Wayne), Marjolaine LeBlanc, Madelaine Roy (Bruno) and Sadie LeBlanc (William); her sons: Roger Adams (Joanne) and Reginald LeBlanc; her sisters: Sadie Thériault (Carl), Suzanne LeClair (Luc) and Sadie Shoemaker and her brothers: Benoit Lagacé (Rina) and David Gray (Jeannette). Also, many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends will sadly miss her.

The funeral was held on June 16, 2007 at the Our Lady of Snows Church, Campbellton, and celebrated by Father Romeo Morrison with burial in the parish cemetery.

John Francis Van Zeeland

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 12, 2007, after a long battle with brain cancer, at the age of 43, Mr. John Francis Van Zeeland. A custodian for district 15, he gave 110% to his work and even more at home. He loved CSI’s all of them, Law & Order all of them, U2, DC Talk and all music. A volunteer for the Glen Levit Fire Department for almost 7 years and in the Saint Anthony’s choir. He was kind and would help anyone in need or stranded. He worked hard and took great care of his family. He is with God our Father now praying for us all.

He is survived by his wife Debbie, sons Bernard and Henry, sister Annette (Ken) Oshaldeston from Burlington, brothers Peter (Laurie) Stoffville, Sebastien from Toronto and David from Toronto, sister-in-law Elinor from Fredericton, nephews Tate, Brahm and Robert, nieces Brianna and Devon. Predeceased by his mother Theresia, his father Lambertus (Bert), his brother Henry and his beloved four legged best friend Zeus who went for every drive he could take him.

The funeral mass was held from St. Thomas Aquinas Church Campbellton on Friday June 15th at 11am. Father Bill Arsenault officiating. There was an honor guard representing the fire department in the area.
