Bernice Steeves

The sudden death of Bernice Steeves occurred on June 11, 2004, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. She was only 70 years old.

She was the daughter of the late Borden and Annie Steeves of Campbellton.

Left to mourn are her 10 children, Gilbert, Claude (Mona), Marie Anne (Edouard), Connie (Ronald), Deborah (Daniel), Raymond, Claudia, Jenny, Joseph and Peter. She also leaves 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Predeceased by her parents, one sister and two brothers.

Pallbearers were Joseph Maltais, Raymond Maltais, Claude Maltais, Gilbert Steeves, Kevin Marshall and Daniel Firth. Honourary pallbearers were Michael Marshall, David Mitchell, Galen Mitchell, Ronald Firth and Sylvio Lavigne.

Vincent Martin

The death of Vincent Martin of Listuguj, Q.C. occurred in Listuguj, Q.C. on June 20, 2004, at the age of 47. Born in Kahnawake, Q.C., on August 6, 1956, he was the son of Guy Martin and the late Loretta Jacobs. Vincent worked as an iron worker for 25 years.

He is survived by his father Guy Martin; sisters Joanne Sappier, Belva Martin and Teralee Martin; brothers Darrel Martin and Jody Martin.

He was predeceased by his brother Guy Martin Jr., and his mother Loretta Jacobs.

The funeral was held from St. Anne's Church in Listuguj on Thurday, June 24, 2004, officiated by Father Landry. Pallbearers were: Sweeney Condo, Maynard Caplin, Roger Dedam, Darrell Martin, Jody Martin and Roger Dedam Jr. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dignity memorial, Campbellton.

Elizabeth Cook

The death of Elizabeth Cook, wife of the late Herman Cook occurred Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital in Dalhousie at the age of 91.

Born in Tracadie, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Francois Mallais and Delphine Mallais. She is survived by her sons Leo Cook (Patsy) of Belledune, N.B., Francois Synette (Cathy) of Dalhousie, Ivan Tessier of Quebec City; daughters Jackie Doiron (Roger) of Quebec, Colette Levesque of Atholville, Theresa Cook of Campbellton, Dixie Diotte of Dalhousie, Cecile Lapointe (Pierre) of Quebec City, Margaret Rose Carter (Terry) of Dalhousie, Muriel Johnson (Leslie) of Campbellton and Myrtle McNulty of Ontario. She is also survived by her brothers Norman, Edgar and Victor Mallais.

She was predeceased by her husband Herman, sons Ronald Cook and Gerard Mallais, brothers John, Francis, Edmond and Clifford Mallais as well as two sisters Ludia and Emma.

Her funeral service was held from Saint John Bosco Church in Dalhousie on Friday, June 25, 2004, officiated by Father Culligan with burial in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Sandy Roy, Tanya Diotte, Andy Diotte, Michel Mallais, Peter Hachey and Jean Francois Rioux. Melinda Audet

The death of Melinda Paulin Audet, resident of the Dalhousie Nursing Home, occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital in Dalhousie on June 20, 2004, at the age of 93.

Born in Lameque, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Amedee Hache and the late Louise Robichaud.

She is survived by her daughters Georgette (Adrien Gauvin) of Burlington, Ont., Alberte (Richard Gauvin) of Fredericton, N.B., Lina (Jean Paul Plourde) of Halifax, N.S., Bernadette (Albert Duguay) of Hamilton, Ont., Martha (Guildore Michaud) of St. Coeur, P.Q., Collette (Ronald LePage) of Kingarden, Ont.; sons Jean-Louis Paulin (Nicole) of Dalhousie and Amedee Paulin (Ingrid) of Dalhousie Junction; sisters Gertrude (William Noel) of Bertrand, N.B. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband Louis Paulin and her second husband Romeo Audet.

The funeral was held from St. Jean Baptiste Church in Dalhousie on June 23, 2004, officiated by Rev. Yvon Doiron with burial in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Fuenral Home, Dignity memorial, Dalhousie.

Gladys Pelletier

The death of Gladys Pelletier of Dalhousie occurred at St. Joseph Hospital in Dalhousie on June 17, 2004, at the age of 80.

Born in Newcastle, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Maturin LaTulip and the late Genevieve Plourde. Gladys worked at the Nursing Home as a cook.

She is survived by her sons Louis (Barbara) of Grand Falls, N.B., Roger (Lucy) of Newmarket, Ont., Gerry (Linda) of Beaumanville, Ont., Paul (Esther) of Jacquet River, N.B. and Mathiew (Marlese) of Oromocto, N.B.

She was predeceased by her husband Jean Baptiste and son Roland.

The funeral was held from St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie on June 21, 2004, officiated by Rev. T.G. Culligan, with burial in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dignity memorial, Dalhousie.

Frederick Ferris

The death of Frederick Joseph Ferris, resident of the Campbellton Nursing Home, occurred at the Nursing Home on June 19, 2004.

Born in Halifax, N.S., on October 23, 1919, he was the son of the late Christian Ferris and the late Gertrude Dee. Frederick worked as a carman with the CNR.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Helen Frances Johnson Ferris of Campbellton; daughter Nancy Wesson Ferris of Halifax, N.S.; son Tom Ferris of Moncton, N.B.; grandsons Corey Wesson of Halifax, N.S. and Travis Ferris of Toronto, Ont.; cousin Helen Pineau of Dartmouth; as well as numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held from Gateway Assembly Church on Monday, June 21, 2004, officiated by Pastor Robert Masters, with burial in the Campbellton Rural Cemetary. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dignity memorial, Campbellton.

Earl Roussie

The death of Earl Lewis Roussie Jr. of Dalhousie, N.B., occurred at his home on June 23, 2004, at the age of 48.

Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Earl Roussie Sr. and Shirley Wade. Earl worked as a labourer in the construction industry.

He will be sadly missed by his mother Mrs. Shirley Roussie of Dalhousie; daughter Shonna Pitre of Miramichi, N.B.; son Jeffery Pitre of Dalhousie, N.B.; sisters Judy Roussie of Miscou Isle, N.B., Peggy Roussie of Campbellton, N.B., Fay Roussie of Dalhousie, N.B., Joann Roussie-McDavid of Ontario and Candy Roussie of Dalhousie, N.B.; brother Cory Roussie of Dalhousie, N.B.; grandmother Ruby Roussie of Campbellton; and graddaughter Kylee Gibson.

The funeral was held from the Presbyterian Church in Dalhousie on June 26, 2004, with burial in the Rural Cemetery in Campbellton. Honourary pallbearers were: Luc Arseneault, Louis Chiasson, Ben Robichaud, Carl Esliger, Yvon Chiasson and Kirk LeBlanc. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dignity Memorial, Dalhousie.

Patricia McDavid

Patricia Elaine McDavid passed away in her home on June 20, 2004, at the age of 39 years. She was born in Campbellton, New Brunswick and moved to Calgary in 2001 to be with her family.

Patricia is the beloved daughter of Baden McDavid; she will be lovingly remembered by: her son Troy Irvine; her siblings: Sandra Fair, Gayle McDavid, Carrol Chollak, Debbie Gallant, Danny McDavid and Wesley McDavid; her nieces and nephews: Tracy, Trevor, Cheryl-Anne, Greg, Alexander, Terri, Jessie, Galen, and Allison and great-niece Serenity.

She was predeceased by her mother Dorothy McDavid and three brothers, Wayne, Roger and Dale. Funeral Services were held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Friday, June 25, 2004. In lieu of flowers, if so desired a memorial tribute in Patricia's name may be made directly to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (100, 2421- 37 Avenue NE, Calgary, AB T2E 6Y7).
