Memorial Service
A memorial service and burial of the ashes of Doreen Simpson, daughter of the late Harry and Maida Simpson, who passed away in Toronto on February 6, 2005, will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2005, at 11:30 a.m.
This service will take place at the New Mills Cemetery, with prayers lead by the St. John's Presbyterian Church in Dalhousie. Those who knew Doreen are welcome to attend. Following the service, refreshments will be served in the Presbyterian Church, Dalhousie.
Raymond Parent
The death of Raymond Parent of 52 Andrew Street, Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 7, 2005, at the age of 49.
Born in Campbellton on September 6, 1955, he was the son of the late Fidele Parent and the late Lina Gaudet.
Surviving are sisters Alice (Steve) Hall of Surrey, B.C., Jeanne (Raoul) Gallant of Montreal, Bertha (Tom) Petrovcevic of Kirkland Lake, Mary (Vern) Hawken of Dalhousie, Nora (Norman) Clowes of Orangeville, Ont., Georgina Boudreau of Clearwater, Florida, and Helene Poirier of Atholville, brothers Ed (Rose) Parent of Dalhousie and Henry (Therese) Parent. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing him were his parents Fidele and Lina, brother Frank and sister Theresa.
The funeral was held from Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Atholville on July 11, 2005, officiated by Father Morrison, with interment in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Robert (Bobby) Winton
The death of Robert (Bobby) Winton of Archibald, husband of Marjorie (Harper), occurred Saturday, July 2, 2005, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 76.
Born in Archibald, he was the son of Chester Winton and Hazel (Dickie). He retired as national buyer for S.S. Kresge (K-Mart) of Canada, and returned home in 1982 to own and operate Bob's Raspberry Farm on Archibald Road, Belledune.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie, daughter Dale Winton Bigelow (Gaylord) of Cape Cod and son Robert Winton of Hamilton, Ont.
He was predeceased by his sister Joyce Brown and brother Arnold Winton.
The funeral will be held from Bethel United Church in Nash Creek on Saturday, July 16, 2005, at 2 p.m. officiated by Rev. Olive Ann Archibald. Burial to take place in the New Mills United Cemetery. Roy Thibault
The death of Roy B. Thibault of 8 Bujold Street, Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 1, 2005, at the age of 56.
Born in Hectagoona, N.S., on March 21, 1949, he was the son of the late Simon Thibault and the late Georgina Comeau. Roy, who was known for his presence as a real estate agent, was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving is his wife Carmen Poitras Thibault, parents-in-law Leo (Rita) Poitras, sons Troy, Mario and Richard (Christina LeBlanc), brothers and sisters Aaron (Agnes Marie Saulnier), Leonette (Walter Theriault), the late Sammy, Real (Renette Comeau), Marriette (Ronald Raymond Jeddry), Lloyd (Delia Marie LeBlanc), Yvette (Gerald Joseph Maillet), Olivette (Budd Douglas Killam), brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jean-Guy (Lise) Poitras, Roger (Patricia) Poitras, Leopold (Helena) Poitras, Guildor (Edmona) Poitras, Gilbert (Joanne) Poitras, Jean-Luc (Lise) Poitras, Jean-Marc (Monique) Poitras, Richard (Chantale) Poitras, Marie-Jeanne Poitras (Larry), Leola Poitras, Pierrette Poitras (Paul), Diane Poitras (Tony), as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from Notre Dame des Neiges Church in Campbellton on July 4, 2005, officiated by Rev. Romeo Morrison, with interment in St. Cleophas Cemetery in Hectagoona, N.S. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
