Cindy Firth

The family of Cindy Firth are saddened to announce her passing at the Palliative Care Unit of the Regional Hospital on September 7, 2012 at the age of 53, after complications from a long courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Cindy was born December 26, 1958, the daughter of the late Doris and Ernie firth of Flatlands.

She leaves behind three sons, Terrence (T.J.), Craig and Ryan; three brothers, Dusty (Patty), Kerwin (Doris), Butch and a sister, Penny.

Cindy touched the hearts of many and her smile and positive attitude were an inspiration to all who knew her. Once you met her you couldn't help but love her. For the last eight years, she called the Village Nursing Home her home and she loved the staff and residents like they were family.

Active pallbearers were; Craig Murray, Karl Craswell, Jamie Willett, and Jeff Willett.

Gordon Guitar

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 3, 2012 at the age of 93, Mr. Gordon Guitard of Eel River Crossing.

He is survived by one brother Clinton Guitard, two sisters Stella gauvin and Elizabeth (Betty) LaPointe, also several nieces and nephews.

Jim Nichol

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death of James "Jim" Walter Nichol at his home in Campbellton on September 17, 2012 at the age of 60.

He was born in Campbellton on January 16, 1952, the son of Walter and Hazel Nichol of Tide Head.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother Boyd. He is survived by sisters Marilyn (Fred) Hanley of Moncton, Julie (Mike) Seliske of Regina, Sharon (Gary) Hickey of Tide Head, brother Bill (Flor) Nichol of Moncton, twelve nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews.

Jim was described as a gentle soul with an infectious smile. They say people may forget what you say or do but they will never forget how you made them feel. Jim had a talent for making everyone feel like they were the only person in the room. His genuine kindness will be remembered and his spirit will continue to live on in those of us lucky enough to have known him.

Kenneth (Watson) Laakso

Kenneth (Watson) Laakso, 69, of Charlo, NB, succumbed to cancer at Elizabeth Bruyere Hospital in Ottawa, ON, on August 30, 2012. Ken was the son of the late Watson and Lillian (Vincent) Laakso of Charlo.

He is survived by his three daughters Anne, Linda and Elayne, sisters Daphne and Tracy, brother Dwayne, and three grandchildren Amanda, Elise and Julian.

Dad, you never ever complained. You fought a battle that you could not win. You were so brave. God saw you getting weary and a cure was not to be. He put His arms around you, and whispered: Come to Me.
