Carl O'Brien

The death of Carl O'Brien of Belledune, occurred Friday, July 15, 2005, at his residence at the age of 66.

Born in Lorne, he was the son of the late Harold O'Brien and the late Opal Godin.

He is survived by his daughters Tammy Gallant of London, Ont., Kelly O'Brien of Toronto, Ont., and their mother Florence Gray of Brantford, Ontario. Also surviving are brothers Ludger of Saint John, N.B., Pius of Jacquet River, George of Lorne, Terry of Sunnyside, Jimmy of Vernon, B.C., and sisters Delphine O'Brien of Montreal, Anne Floyd of Lepreau, Yvonne O'Brien of Bathurst, 4 grandchildren and nephew Pierre O'Brien.

His funeral was held from Saint Gabriel Church, Jacquet River, on Monday, July 18, 2005, officiated by Father Wilfred Benoit with burial in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Pierre O'Brien, Ryan O'Brien, Jason O'Brien, Darren O'Brien, Louis Firlotte, and Joey Legacy. Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home Black Point.

Charles and Bernice Forbes

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 11, 2005, at the age of 83, Mrs. Bernice McNeil Forbes, wife of Charles Forbes of Escuminac, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. John McNeil.

Predeceased by 2 brothers George and Wendall.

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 14, 2005, at the age of 87, Charles Forbes of Escuminac. Son of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Forbes.

Survived by one daughter Alta Forbes of Cookshire, Quebec, one brother Walter, one sister Pearl of Escuminac, nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by 2 brothers Allen and Thomas, and 3 sisters Nellie, Sarah and Clara.

A graveside committal service was held on July 17, 2005, at the Escumiac United Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. G. Trudel. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Dawn Ona Avis Pollock (LeTourneau)

The death of Dawn Ona Avis Pollock (LeTourneau) of 17 Pollock Road, Glen Levit, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 12, 2005, at the age of 65.

Born in Glen Levit, N.B., on January 17, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Ephrem LeTourneau and the late Elizabeth Thompson. Dawn was a homemaker, member of the firettes since 1985, and enjoyed bowling, darts, canoeing and camping. She was also a great cook.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Wayne Pollock of Glen Levit, daughter Kimberly Dawn Pollock (Rick) of Dartmouth, N.S., sons Wade Rodney Pollock (Debra) of Moncton, Christopher Wayne Pollock (Gisele) of Moncton, and David Ashley Pollock of Moncton, sisters Shirley Love (Dave), Holly Johnson (Bruce), Roberta LeTourneau (Fernand Poirier), and Debra Hennigar (Joseph), and brothers Douglas LeTourneau (Verna) and Jack LeTourneau (Catherine). She is also survived by five grandchildren, two great grandsons, nieces and nephews.

Predeceasing her was her parents Ephrem and Elizabeth and one grandson Roger.

The funeral was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel on July 15, 2005, officiated by Rev. Genevieve Trudel of Campbellton, with interment in the Glen Levit United Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Margaret Ann Sutherland (Mann) Murray

The death of Margaret Ann Sutherland (Mann) Murray, of 89 Wyers Brook Road, Robinsonville, occurred at her residence on July 8, 2005, at the age of 77.

Born in Mann's Mountain on June 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Richard Mann and the late Margaret Ann Morres.

Surviving is her daughter Margaret Ann (Murray) Proctor, sisters Jean (Allison) Ryan, "Bertie" (Johnny) Harries, Myrea (Cyrus) Firth, Shirley (Regie) MacDougall, and Hope (Clifford) Farrer. She is also survived by two grandsons James and Patrick Proctor of Perth-Andover, three nieces, six nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Predeceasing her was her parents Richard and Margaret, husband James Henry Murray of Robinsonville, brother Farren Mann of Ontario, sister-in-law Verna Mann of Ontario and four brothers-in-law.

The funeral service was held from Maher's Funeral Home on Thursday, July 14, 2005, with interment in the Dawsonville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Adams, Troy Jones, Malcom Boudreau, Dennis Arseneau, Vince Moran, and Joey Delany. Honorary pallbearers were Clifford Farrer, Danny Jones, Alex Borden, Lloyd Borden, Wallace Borden, Dale Ryan, John MacDonald and Russel Firth.

Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Mary Daigle

The death of Mary Daigle of Jacquet River, wife of the late Theodore Daigle, occurred Saturday, July 9, 2005, at the Dalhousie Nursing Home at the age of 96.

Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of Francois Guitar and Louise Cormier.

She is survived by her sons Gerard of Belledune, Michael (Peggy) of Belledune, and daughters Corinne Levesque (Wilfred) of Charlo, Velinda LaPlante of Belledune, Jeannetta Bouchard (Benoit) of Charny, Que., Theresa Carrier (Edmond) of Eel River, and Adeline Godin (Phil) of Petit Rocher. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, her brother Raymond, and sister Adeline.

She was predeceased by her husband Theodore, son Charles, brothers Edgar, Joseph, Delphis, Houston, and her sisters Freda, Ellen, and Cecile.

Her funeral was held from Saint Gabriel's Church, Jacquet River on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, officiated by Father Wilfred Benoit, with burial in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Curtis Daigle, Eric Godin, Jean Claude Levesque, Trevor Daigle, Romeo LaPlante, and Edgar LaPlante. By request of the family of the late Mary Daigle, donations in her memory to the Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home Black Point.

Memorial Service

A memorial service and burial of the ashes of Doreen Simpson, daughter of the late Harry and Maida Simpson, who passed away in Toronto on February 6, 2005, will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2005, at 11:30 a.m.

This service will take place at the New Mills Cemetery, with prayers lead by the St. John's Presbyterian Church in Dalhousie. Those who knew Doreen are welcome to attend. Following the service, refreshments will be served in the Presbyterian Church, Dalhousie.
