Angus Wilson

The death of Joseph Angus Wilson of Malauze, NB occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 6, 2005.

Born in Malauze, NB, on October 21, 1915, he was the son of the late Richard Wilson and the late Nellie Perron. Angus was a local contractor.

He is survived by his daughters Murphy (Jean-Guy) Arseneault of Val D'Amour, Julie (Roger) Levesque of Campbellton, Dale (Donald) Pitre of Val D'Amour, Allean (Francois) Legacé of Val D'Amour; sons Romeo (Monique) Wilson of Val D'Amour, Roy (Patricia) Wilson of Val D'Amour and Roger (Joanne) Wilson of Val D'Amour; daughter-in-law Gladys Wilson of Val D'Amour, half-sister Thelma Dugas; half-brother Hazen Wilson; grandchildren Christine and Julie Wilson, Brian and Caren Arseneault, Eric and Mylene Wilson, Marco Levesque, Sylvain Legacé, and Debbie Anne and Kimberly Wilson; great grandchildren Stephanie, Hugo and Brianna.

He was predeceased by his wife Lilliane Perron Wilson; son Wesley; sisters Rita Clavette and Evelyn Wilson; brothers Richard, John, Adelard and Jim.

Doris Parker

The death of Doris Parker, of Eel River Crossing, occurred at St. Joseph Hospital on January 6, 2005, at the age of 77.

Born in Campbellton on May 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Romeo Gendron and the late Margaret St. Onge.

She is survived by her daughters Karen (Glen) Jesset of Toronto, ON, Maureen (Hanid) Tehrani of Richmond Hill, ON, Colleen (Brian) Murray of Toronto, ON, Debbie (Wayne) parker of McLeods and Sandra (John) Frenette of New Mills; sons Bryan Parker of Balmoral and Gary (Judy) Parker of Dalhousie; sisters Georgina Bertin of Nackawic, NB, and Carmel (Dave) Doucet of McLeods; brother Richard (Irene) Gendron of Montreal PQ.

She was predeceased by her husband Arnold; sisters Clarinda Parker, Isabel Callaghan and Rita Belanger.

Emma Glover Brown
(Nee Blaikie)

Released into the arms of the Lord with her loving family by her side on Sunday December 19, 2004 in her 94th year. She was a much loved and adored mother of Herb (Theresa) Brown, Alden (Janice) Brown, Christina (Lionel) Newsome, Elaine (Don) Hunt, Thirza (Sam) Downham, Daniel (Ann Marie) Brown, Sheila ( Don) Chorniak, Jocelyn (Claus) Schirk, Bonnie (Paul) Smith and Ian (Rebecca) Brown. She will be fondly remembered 36 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 33 great-great grandchildren; survived by her sister Marion Dumville; predeceased by her husband Grant Brown, and infant daughters Gloria, Geraldine, Shirley and brothers Walter, Harry, Alfred and Alden. Daughter of the late Robert Edward Blaikie and the late Elinor Grace downs (formerly of Broadlands, Quebec).

Guy Preston Smith

The death of Guy Preston Smith of Dalhousie occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital in Dalhousie on January 11, 2005, at the age of 86.

Born in Shigawake, Quebec, on May 13, 1919, he was the son of the late William Hector Smith and the late Florence May Allen. Guy was a garage operator and mechanic, a veteran of WWII and former staff advisor of NB motor vehicle board.

He is survived by his wife Elmee Levesque Smith of Charlo; sons Clayton (Betty Ann) Smith of Dalhousie and Preston (betty Ann) Smith of St. Margaret's Bay, NS; sister Joyce Dickie of St. John, NB; brothers Clayton and Murray Smith of Wentworth, NS and Fred Smith of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren David and Shyanne and great grandchildren Shane and Keagan.

He was predeceased by his grand daughter Kristen and his first wife Joyce in 1984.

Felicia M. Fitzgerald

Relatives and friends were saddened to learn of the death of one of Matapedia's oldest residents Felicia Magdelan Fitzgerald, which occurred on December 10, 2004, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital a the age of 92 years and 10 months.

Felicia was a daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Delaney) Murray and the widow of Frank Fitzgerald Sr. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Predeceased by her parents, her husband, two children: Francis Weir (Little Frankie) and Catherine Ann (Kitten) as well as four sisters: Mollie, Yvonne, Caroline, and Mildred; two brothers: Leo and Delaney Murray.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her three daughters: Faye MacNaughton, Barbara Craswell (Auley) and Kathy Irvine (Deering); two sons Frank Jr. (Gloria) Fitzgerald and Garth (Carol) Fitzgerald; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Felicia was a wonderful mother to her family, and a good friend to all. She was a member of St. Laurent Parish, St. Patrick's Committee, The Matapedia W.I., and the Golden Age Club of which she was its first president. Always happy to have visitors and greeted them with her beautiful smile.

Mom's love will live on forever; her memories will shine through the gloom.

Dr. Guy Reneault
1929-2005

Dr. Guy Reneault, 75, of Villa Providence, Shediac, formerly of Edmundston and Campbellton, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at his residence.

Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Dominique and the late Isabelle (née DeGrace) Reneault. He was a medical doctor specializing in psychiatric, he had a passion for music and was involved as a member of the church choir.

He is survived by his former wife, Christine; three daughters: Gisele, Diane and Clair; one son, David; three sisters: Berthe (Gerry) Lanteigne, Evangeline (Meddy) Cormier and Yvette (Neil) Coyle; three brothers: Leonard (Gabrielle) Gamlin, Richard Gamlin, and Roger ( Camilla) Reneault as well as several nieces and nephews.

Dr. Reneault was predeceased by two sisters: Jeannine and Fernande and also by four brothers: Rodolphe, Joseph, Maurice, and Dr. Benoit.

Wallace "Wally" Roberts

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Wallace Roberts, resident of 328 Notre Dame St., Atholville, who passed away suddenly at his residence on January 7, 2005.

Born in Atholville on August 10, 1942, he was the son of the late Marlin Roberts and the late Lena Caissie. Wally was employed as a salesman with Minolta Business Solutions in Campbellton.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Adrienne Legacé Roberts; daughters Carole (Normand) Allard of Campbellton, Brenda (Rénald) Duclos of Campbellton, Debbie (Serge) Landry of Balmoral and Joyce (Raymond) Bujold of St. Arthur; son Kelly (Caroline) Roberts of Beresford, NB, sister (Joyce (Regis) Allard of Moncton, NB; brother Gerald (Léonie) Roberts of Moncton, NB. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tania and Gino Allard, Frederic and Alexandre Duclos, Francis and Nicholas Landry, Mylene Bujold and Jake Roberts.

Opal Jardine

The death of Opal Jardine, wife of the late John Jardine, occurred at the Dalhousie Nursing home on January 5, 2005, at the age of 91.

Born in Gray Rapids, NB, she was the daughter of the late Unice Sullivan and the late Scott Coughlan.

She is survived by her daughters Phyllis (Joe) Allard of Charlo, Betty (Ben) Picard of Charone ON, and son John Jardine (Daisy) of Moncton, NB, sisters Dorothy (Billy) Warren, Viola Walls, both of Blackville, NB, as well as seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Ken Thurston

Ken, son of the late Roy and Gladys (Williams), formerly from Sanford County, N.S., passed away peacefully at his home on January 14, 2005, after a short illness with his beloved wife Ann (Morrison) at his side. With love and care he was able to live out his wish to be at home. Loving father of Blaine and Terri; greatly loved grandpa of Katie, Kyla and Kirk. Predeceased by brother Phil (Flo), Phyllis Cole (Bob), Martha Zwicker (Harold), Leslie (Thelma), Norman (Jeannette), Brenda Crosby (Norm), and Erma Thomas (Lorraine). Predeceased by his brother Charles (Betty). He will be greatly missed and remembered by his family and friends.

Margaret "Mamie" (Beaton) Savoie

The death of Margaret Savoie of 57 Duncan St., Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 9, 2005, at the age of 74..

Born in Campbellton on April 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Beaton and the late Regina LeBelle.

She is survived by her daughters Linda (Guy) Landry of Kitchener, Ont., Amanda (Gary) Dalh of Silvent Lake, Alb., Dorina (Stephane ) Martineau of Rougemont, Que., and Michelle Savoie of Montreal; sons Yvon (Brenda McGrath) of Campbellton and Rene Savoie of Everette, Yukon; sisters Mary Savoie (Leslie) of Campbellton, Daisy Savoie (Roland) and Freda (Emilien) Ouellette; brother Earl (Doreen) Beaton.

Marion B. Luta

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Marion B. Luta. Marion died on December 10, 2004, in Upland, California. She was the daughter of the late Nathan and Mary (Ferguson) McDavid and was born in Flatlands, N.B. in 1921.

Marion leaves to mourn her daughters; Stephanie and April and her son Carson (Buzzie); her grandchildren; Selena and Eric and her great grandchildren Brandon and Justin; two sisters-in-law Ethel McDavid of Campbellton, and Claire McDavid of Campbell River, B.C. also several nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her husband Stan Luta, her parents and all her siblings. A graveside service was held December 17, 2004, in California.

Shirley Dorothy Perley

The death of Shirley Dorothy Perley occurred a the Village Nursing Home on January 10, 2005.

Born in New Mills on August 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Elsie (Homer) Synette. She had been employed by the city of Campbellton for thirteen years as dispatcher for the City Detachment of the R.C.M.P., retiring in 1995.

She is survived by her husband Wallace, her uncle Arthur Homer of Dalhousie Junction and several nephews.
