Daniel Baker
The death of Daniel Baker of 300 Notre Dame Street in Atholville, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 13, 2004, at the age of 88.
Born in Ste Florence, Quebec, on February 23, 1916, he was the son of Daniel Baker and Annie Bonefant. Daniel was a member of Legion Branch #19. He was very passionate about sport fishing with his sons an enjoyed hockey. He also served in World War 11 and overseas for 5 years.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Estelle Mallet: daughters Helene (Francis)Isaac of Listuguj, Quebec, and Norma (Dave Flynn) of Campbellton; ; sons Daniel Jr., (Josee) of Matane, Quebec, Roger (Claudette) of Campbellton, Rene (Michelle Lefevre) of Chateauguay, Quebec, Guy (Julia) of Inkerman Ferry, N.B. and Roland (Michel DuBois) of Drummondville, Quebec; sisters Therese and Florence of Montreal, Quebec; brother Fred of Toronto, Ont.; grandchildren Vicky Baker (Quentin Mann) of Campbellton, Melissa and Amanda Isaac of Listuguj, Quebec, Trish Keays of Moncton, Helaine Baker of England, Daniel Baker 111 of Montreal, Quebec, Jonathan Baker of Chateauguay, Quebec, Rose-Marie and Rose-Anne Baker of Quebec, Ann Baker of Quebec, Tina Baker Alward (John) of Moncton, N.B. Cindy Baker of Atholville, Mathieu and Maxime Baker of Inkerman Ferry, NB, Catherine Baker of Drummondville, Quebec and Kristen Murray (Bob Green) of Bridgewater, N.S.; nine great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Francoise Renaud (late Alvin) of Quebec.
He was predeceased by his infant son Raymond (1938) daughter Rose Marie (1963) and son Alvin (1994)
John Delaney
The death of John Maxwell Delaney of Matapedia, Quebec, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 11, 2004, at the age of 88.
Born in Matapedia, Quebec on September 4, 1915, he was the son of the late James Delaney and the late Christina Ryan. John was a veteran and a salmon fishing guide. He served with the Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment in World War 11, overseas and Europe.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Anysie Gallant Delaney; sons Allan Delaney (Donia Guitard), Norman Delaney (Lyne Doiron) and Richard Delaney; sisters Laura Harquail and Ann Janell; grandchildren Christina Delaney and Vanessa Delaney.
Margaret Boudreau
The death of Margaret Joanne Boudreau of Glen Levit, N.B., occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 4, 2004 at the age of 86.
Born in Glen Levit on July 29, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Allan Pollock and the late Bertha Cooling. Margaret was a retired cook from the Restigouche Salmon Club, member of the Glen Levit United Church, an avid knitter and loved her garden and flowers.
She is survived by her daughters Helen of Kitchener, Ont., Betty of Prince George, B.C. and Linda of Richmond, B.C. ; sons Joe of Coquitlam, B.C., Andy of Ottawa, Ont., Bob of MacKenzie, B.C., Al of Prince George, B.C., Mack of Glen Levit, N.B. and Larry of Prince George, B.C.; sisters Dorothy Calder (Royce) and Shirley Dryden both of Sarnia, Ont.; brothers Allison Pollock (Beth) of Tide head and Fred Pollock (Miriam) of Toronto, Ont.; 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Howard Boudreau, sister Alice and two brothers Charlie and Kirk.
Gordon Carmichael
Gordon was born on July 26, 1925. He was the son of Bessie Carmichael.
Gordon was raised in Archibald Settlement, N.B. He was a WW11 Veteran.
He worked at Heath Steele for his cousin Billy Carmichael for two years.
Gordon had a Fina Service Station for 7 years. After this he worked for the Smelter at the Pump House for 15 years. From there, Gordon set up a Shell Oil business under the name of G. and J. Fuels for 20 years and then retired.
During his life he served on the village council and was the Mayor of Jacquet River for several terms. He was Fire Chief for several years as well. He was responsible for the opening of the Bank of Nova Scotia in Jacquet River. He had the senior citizen's complex started in Jacquet River. He was instrumental in the opening of the school for mentally and physically challenged children. He also played a role in the opening of the medical center in Jacquet River.
Gordon was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 35 years. He was also a member of the First United Church of Canada in Nash Creek. He was a member of the Lions Club and Progressive Conservative Association.
Gordon, Bert Carmichael, Alan Roy and many other friends and relatives were responsible for renovating the Sunday school in Jacquet River as well.
Gordon loved horses, which was evident in his care for the horses he owned over the years. He was a huge fan of horse hauling and won many awards for his efforts in participating in such events.
he received the Governor General's Medal in 1993.
Gordon also loved to bowl and to play cards. Many days and evenings were spent in this recreation.
Gordon was active in his church and helped whoever may have needed it in his community. He was loved by family and friends alike and will be missed by all. He was a quiet man who had the quiet authority of making his ideas heard and bringing them to light. He was a great businessman and a very good friend to have.
Gordon left us for the great beyond on March 7, 2004, at the age of 78. He is survived by his son Keven of Prince George, BC, one grandchild Sondra and many cousins across Canada and the USA. He was predeceased by one brother Howard.
We want to extend a special thank you to everyone who gave donations to the Memorial Fund of the First United Church and all other charities and also for the donations of food.
Gordon was a man of great strength, loyalty and grace who will be watching down on all of us from his lookout in Heaven. May you rest in peace, old friend until we meet again.

Edna Poirier
The death of Edna Poirier of Atholville, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 8, 2004 at the age of 79.
Born in Atholville, she was the daughter of the late Auguste Parent and the late Blanche Caissy.
She is survived by her daughters Monique Landry of Saint John, NB. , Linda Savoie (Yvon ) of Atholville, and Annette Steves of Oshawa, Ont.; sons Charles (Beverly ) of Oshawa, Ont., Michel of Campbellton , Paul (Edith) of Campbellton and Alain (Lisa) of Port Hope, Ont.' sister Julia Parent Vaillancourt (Adrien) of Montreal; brothers Eugene Parent (Leona) of Sudbury, Ont. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband David Poirier, parents, sisters Florida nad Rena and brothers Stanley, Normand and Donat.
Patricia Ann Caplin
The death of Patricia Ann Caplin of 7 Mic Mac Drive, Listuguj, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 2, 2004 at the age of 66.
Born in Millinocket, Maine, USA, she was the daughter of the late John Andrick and the late Roselean Creehan.
Patricia was a homemaker who devoted all her time to her family. This devotion is immeasurable. She was also a member of the Ste Anne's Church in Listuguj.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Oswald Caplin; daughters Cathy Hurd of Bangor, Maine, and Rhonda Caplin of Campbellton; son Gary G. Caplin of Listuguj; sisters Jean Tibbittes (Donald) of Millinocket, Maine and Marie Rideout (Kirk) of Rockland, Maine; brothers John Andrick (Alberta) of Lebo, Kansas, Michael Andrick (Donna) of Brewer, Maine, Joe Andrick of Lebo, Kansas, Paul Andrick (Earlene ) Of Millinocket, Maine. She is also survived by Sherry Isaac of Listuguj, Step-daughter Virginia Vicaire of Listuguj, great granddaughter, Jaid Lynn Isaac of Listuguj and great grandson Robbie Molley of Listuguj.
She predeceased by her parents and her first son Robert William Caplin in 1978.
