Carol Arseneault
1963 - 2006

Halifax- At the QE II health center, on Sunday, August 13th, 2006, passed away at the age of 42, Carol Arseneault, wife of Richard Arseneault, residing in Cross Point.

Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn one daughter: Marie-Karine; one son: André-Philippe; two sister: Lisa et Anne; one brother: René; also some nieces and nephews: Marc-André Doucet, Natacha Doucet, Alexandre Barnaby, Denie-Michel Barnaby, Cathy Arseneault, Lynn Arseneault, Letecia Arseneault, Nikki Arseneault et Nicholas Arseneault.

The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Lourdes Church, on August 17th at 4pm. Father Morrison officiating.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Charlie O'Neill

The death of Charlie O'Neill of Belledune, husband of Eileen,(Grennan) occurred in Saint Marguerite, Quebec at the age of 73.

Born in Belledune, the son of the late John O'Neill and Florence (Culligan).

He is survived by his wife Eileen, daughter Ellen O'Neill of Halifax, sisters Marjorie O'Neill of New Westminster, BC, Eileen O'Neil of Belledune, and Theresa Libby of Minto.

He was predeceased by his brothers Joe, Herman, Roe, Osmond, Jack, and sisters Lottie Fidler, Gertrude Firlotte, and Mary O'Neill.

His funeral was held Saturday, August 19th, 2006 at St.John the Evangelist Church, Belledune,officiated by Father David Ferguson with burial in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Steven O'Neill, Danny O'Neill, Paddy O'Neill, Keith O'Neill, Jerry O'Neill, and Gary O'Neill. Honorary Pallbearers were Chester Devereaux, Bert Culligan, Don Culligan, Chester Culligan, Donald Grennan, Steve Grennan, Keith Legacy, Simon Legacy, fred Bastarache, Jim Grennan, Tommy Lawlor, and Jerry Guitard.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home Black Point.

Claude Furlotte

Passed away peacefully on August 9, 2006, at the age of 73 at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. Born in Sunnyside, N.B. on July 19, 1933, he was the son of the late Ernest and Isabella (Furlotte) Furlotte and brother of Donald. Survived by brother Allanson Furlotte (Juanita) and several nieces and nephews.

All arrangements and a private family cremation has taken place with Washington & Johnston Funeral Home, Queen St., E, Toronto, Ontario. Private burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery in Nash Creek, N.B. Anyone wishing to make donations in his memory could do so to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Francis O'Brien

At the Campbellton Regional Hospital, on August 3rd, 2006, passed away at the age of 90, Francis O'Brien. He was born in Nash Creek on March 10th, 1916 to the Late Frank O'Brien and the Late Mary Francoeur. He leaves to mourn the Late Elmire LeBourque; daughters: Francine O'Brien (Réjean) of McLeods, Florence Savoie (Rodolphe) of Atholville, Dianne Fallu (Cleo) of Tide Head and Anne Young (Arthur) of Atholville; as well as son: Raymond (Cathy) of Edmundston, Guy (Collette) of Tide Head, the Late John and Earl; as well as 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Snow Church on August 7th. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Gerald Guitar

The death of Gerald Guitar of Jacquet River, husband of Jacqueline (Doucet), occurred Thursday, August 10, 2006 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 73. He was born in Belledune, the son of the late Raymond Guitar and Olive (Chalmers).

He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, sons Danny (Penny) of Middle Sackville, N.S., Timmy (Charlene) of Hamilton, Ontario, Jay (Sandy) of Hampton, Gary (Kim) of Hampton, and 6 grandchildren . Also surviving are his brothers Tom, Clarence, Philip, sisters Lorraine Metevier, Phyliss Rhodes, Janet McGarvey, Hazel Wilson, and Elanor Godin. He was predeceased by his daughter Joyce, brother Raymond and sister Shirley.

His funeral was held from Saint Gabriel Church, Jacquet River, Monday, August 14, 2006, officiated by Father David Ferguson with burial in the parish cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home Black Point.

John J. Martin

John J. Martin, 87, of Garden, Mass, USA, formerly of Chatham Head, N.B. died on August 15 in hospital after an illness. He was the husband of the late Dora Martin.

He leaves one daughter and one son-in-law and one son and one daughter-in-law.

He was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Martin of Chatham Head, N.B.

John is also survived by his sisters, Christina (Joey) Martin Savoy, and Janet Malloy Chaisson of Dalhousie, N.B., and also half-brothers and sisters, Rosanna Martin, Rogersville, Edmond Malley of Chatham Head, Ceclia Malley of Alberta, and Leonia McAfferty of Bresby, Ontario.

Joyce E Hennessey

Joyce E (Mac Nutt) Hennessey passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital with her son Tim and daughter Lana present on Aug 13/06 at the age of 81.

She was the wife of the late Edison Hennessey and the late William Shannon. She was the daughter of the late Sarah & Percy Mac Nutt. A sister of the late John Mac Nutt and the late Jean (Snap) Dickie.

She is survived by her son, Tim Shannon, daughter Lana (Al) Firlotte. And her grandchildren Brad, Allie, Sarah, Meaghan, two great grandchildren. One sister Lambert (Alden) Coull. Also nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews.

She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church and the C.W.L.

Funeral service was held at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Wednesday Aug 16/06 with Father Bill Arseneau and Father Peter Doherty officiating and present was the honor guard from C.W.L.

Internment was in the rural cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home Campbellton.

Ruby (Godin) Chedore

Ruby Chedore, wife of the late Roderick Chedore, formerly of Point LaNim died in the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Thursday, August 24th, 2006 at the age of 83.

Born in Nash Creek, NB on May 12, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Godin and Effie Ferland.

She is survived by her sons Keith (Lynda) of Point LaNim, Carl (Sandra) of Dalhousie, Ricky (Helene) of Point LaNim. Her brothers Leo (Annette) of Lome, Delphis (Lydia) of Green Point. Her sisters Opal Hickey (Charles) of Lorne, Ethel Gagnon (Johnny) of Lorne, Mildred Larsen (Alfred) of Dalhousie, and Matilda Chamberlain (Walter) of Lorne. Her grandchildren: Tabitha, Ryan, Tascha, Shawn, Tarin, Michelle, Dawn, Cara Dawn, and Katelyn. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Roderick, her sons Donnie (Therese), Dale (Ann), her daughter Marilyn Ruby, her brother Oswald (Matilda), her sister Viola (Arthur Mallaley), and her grandson Travis.

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

A service was held on Sunday, August 27th, at 4 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Dalhousie Junction. She was interred on August 28th in the Riverview Cemetery in Dalhousie.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home Dalhousie.

Margaret Firth
1910-2006

At the Campbellton Village Nursing Home and formerly of Squaw Cap, N.B., on July 26, 2006, at the age of 95, passed away Mrs. Margaret Firth, wife of the late Orville Firth. Born in Dawsonville, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Dumas and the late John Martin.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter: Margaret McInnis (Ron) of Huntsville, Ont., her sons: Burns Firth (Opal) of Lindsay, Ont., Martin Firth (Carol) of Toronto, Ont. and Herman Firth (late Linda) of Campbellton. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren nieces, nephews and friends, will also miss her.

Her husband, Orville James Firth, her parents, her sons: Wilson & Basil, 4 infant children and many brothers & sisters predeceased her.

The funeral was held from Savoie Funeral Chapel, Campbellton on July 29, 2006, officiated by Rev. Olive Ann Archibald with interment in the Robinsonville Cemetery. The pallbearers were Ronnie Firth, Steven Firth, Barry Firth, Steven Chandler, William Martin and Aubrey Firth. The honorary pallbearers were Doug Murray, Baden Firth, Bud Thomas, Danny Firth, Ron McInnis, Jack Firth and Marstin Martin. Mrs. Firth was a member of the Robinsonville Golden Age Club. Her great grand daughter Grace Murray presented the eulogy.
