Cecile McDonald

The death of Cecile McDonald of Archibald, wife of Murray McDonald, occurred August 25, 2005 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 77. Born in Lorne, the daughter of Robert W. Carrier & Merella (Godin).

She is survived by her husband: Murray of Archibald, daughters Susan Carrier(Tony) of Lorne, Charlene McDonald of New Westminster, BC, Christine Carrier(Louis) of Nash Creek, and grandchildren Christopher Carrier, Melanie Carrier, Colin McDonald, Derek Turnbull, Jonathon McDonald and many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Also, surviving are brothers William R. Carrier (Zita), Manual Carrier (Anne), Oswald Carrier (Edna)

She was predeceased by her parents, son Robert, her sister Evangeline Kenny, and brothers Ralph, Elric, and Adolphe.

Her funeral was held August 29, 2005 from St. Maria Goretti Church in Lorne, officiated by Father Lionel Comeau with burial in the Parish Cemetery.

Bishop, Celeste Joan

Celeste Joan Bishop of Dalhousie, N.B., passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2005 in the MSICU unit of the Victoria general Hospital, Halifax, N.S., at the age of 44 years.

She was born December 5, 1960 in Halifax, N.S. She is survived by her loving husband Randall and son Michael, sister Christine (Ratto) Keeping, brother Andrew Ratto, mother Joan (Ratto) Chagnon, father Joseph Ratto, stepmother Joyce Ratto, stepfather Edgar Chagnon and several nieces and nephews.

Celeste was a kind and generous person who made many friends over her lifetime; she will be greatly missed by all those whose life she touched. She will always be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother and friend.

A service was held on Friday, august 26, 2005 at the Snow's Funeral Home, Halifax, N.S. Donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.

Eleonore (Pitre) Moran

The death of Eleonare (Pitre) Moran of Sqaw Cap occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 14, 2005, at the age of 85.

Born in St. Alexis, she was the daughter of the late Delphine (Pitre) Poirer and the late George Poirer. She was predeceased by her husband the late John Donald Moran, her baby son Edward Moran and her brothers Octave Poirer, Joseph Poirer and Magella Poirer.

She is survived by her sisters Theresa Poirer of Pointe a la Croix and Mary Furguson of Drummonville, Qc., her sons Clarence Moran of Dundee, David Moran, Albert Moran (Rita), Leanard Moran (Debbie) all of Adams Gulch, Robert Moran (Lois) of Upsalquitch, Henry Moran of Squaw Cap, her daughters Muriel Noye (Ronald) of Upsalquitch, Stella Moran of Upsalquitch, Margaret Marshall (Aulden) of Sqaw Cap, Grace Halloway (Cluette) NL, and Alice Archibald (James) of Sqaw Cap. Also surviving are 32 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Savoie Funeral Home. Services were held in the Chapel on August 18, 2005, officiated by Father Benoit, organist Ruth Nichol, accompanied by the Glen Levit Catholic Choir, eulogy read by granddaughter Martha Moran. Pallbearers were Brian Noye, Josh Noye, Ricky Guitard, Garnet Moran, Roger Mann, James Archibald. Honorary pallbearers were Ronald Noye, Aulden Marshall, Chris Mann, Garnet Archibald, Joseph Archibald and Bruce Charest. Interment held at the Robinsonville Cemetery.

Gordon A. Babcock

Gordon Babcock of Carbondale, Illinois and formerly of Mann's Mountain, N.B. died at the Carbondale Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, Illinois on August 1st, 2005, after a short illness at the age of 82 years.

He was the son of the late Robert Babcock and Hazel Pratt of Mann's Mountain, N.B. Gordon is survived by his five (5) children: Geraldine, Margaret and Elizabeth of Carbondale, Sheila of North Carolina and Robert of New York. 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Sisters Wanda Murray of Glencoe, N.B. and Alder McLellan of Blanchard Michigan.

Predeceased by two wives: Ada May Tunnard of Lincoln, England and Ethel Dillon of Carbondale; three brothers, Elmer, Fraser and William Babcock and two sisters; Gladys McDavid and Elva Mann.

Gordon was a World War II veteran with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was employed at Texas Gulf and Sulfer in North Carolina and Iron Ore Company of Canada. He retired as a mining Superintendent at the Central Shop for Consol Coal in Pinckneyville, Illinois. He was an active Mason and Shriner and a member of the First Presbyterian Church Carbondale.

Funeral services were held August 5th, 2005 in Carbondale, Illinois. Cremation followed, with interment at the Vergennes Community Cemetery in Illinois. R.I.P.

Johanne Patterson Bulmer

The death of Johanne Patterson Bulmer, of Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 22, 2005, at the age of 80 after a short illness.

Born in Campbellton on February 28, 1925, she was the daughter of the late George and Agnes Miles. Johanne was a homemaker, member of the Evangeline Crowe Missionary Society and member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving is her husband William Stevens Bulmer, daughters Catherine (John) Gilmore of Fredericton, Nancy (Terry) Wilbur of Bathurst and Joni (Bruce) Dickie of Campbellton, grandchildren Dawne Leger, Kelly and Jennifer Gilmore, Tara and Ryan Wilbur and Alana and Leah Dickie, great grandchildren Emma and Biller Leger, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Predeceasing was her sister Barbara Miles and her brother William Miles.

The funeral was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel on August 24, 2005, officiated by Rev. Douglas Phillips, with interment in the Flatlands Cemetery. Pallbearers were Walter Grey, David Lefurgey, Lynn Mann, John Gilmore, Terry Wilbur and Bruce Dickie. Honorary pallbearers were Member of the ECWMS, Guylaine Mann, Billy Grey, Charlotte Renault, Mary Jagoe and John McLeod. Scripture reading: Psalm 23. Soloist: Bruce Dickie, "Beyond the Sunset". Special music: "Shall We Gather At The River". Meditation: A Shepherd's Love. Poem: "Johanne", by Leah Dickie. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Lena Margaret Babcock

BABCOCK, Lena Margaret Alice (nee: McKinley) - Died peacefully at Springdale Country Manor, Peterborough, Ontario on Sunday, August 21, 2005 in her 96th year.

Beloved wife of the late Floyd Babcock.

Predeceased by her son, Harold.

Survived by granddaughter Barbara Copeland.

A graveside service took place at the Kempt Road Cemetery, Broadlands, Quebec, on Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home Ltd., Campbellton. If so desired, donations may be made to your local United Church Women's Group or the charity of your choice.

Myrtle Poirier (Savoie)

The death of Myrtle Poirier (nee Savoie, of Dundee, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 09, 2005, at the age of 60. Born in Val D'Amour on April 26, 1945, she was the daughter of Patrick and Robina Savoie.

She is surviving by her husband Leonard Poirier of Dundee, her daughter Lyne (Jean) Levesque of Balmoral and her son Glen of Dundee,

grandchildren Jean Daniel, Anne Renee and Alyssa. She is also surviving by her sisters Corinne Savoie, Victorine Savoie, Shirley Phillips, Aline Johnson, all from Ontario, Marina Johnson of Val D'Amour and Jeannette Levesque of Atholville, brothers Daniel Savoie, Jean Paul Savoie, Alfred Savoie, all from Dundee, Clarence Savoie of Campbellton and Wilfred Savoie of St. Basile.

The funeral was held from St. Jean Marie Vianney of Dundee on August 11, 2005, officiated by Rev. Doiron, with interment in the Dundee cemetery. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
