Adelard Vermette

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 17, 2007 at the age of 92, Mr. Adelard Vermette Born in Campbellton on November 8, 1914, he was the son of the late Ferdinand Vermette and the late Elizabeth LeCouffe.

He leaves to mourn his son Claude (Donna Keays), his daughters Lianne (John Potter) of Regina SK and Denise (Peter Abonyi) of Beaconsfield, Quebec, one sister Theresa Mazerolle of Mission, BC, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Predeceased by his wife Bertha Babin, three sons Jean Guy, Jacques and Michel, his parents, three brothers Edgar, Amédée and Lionel, two sisters Marie Jeanne Lemoine and Irene Smith.

The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Snow Church Campbellton on Wednesday August 22nd at 4pm. Father Morrison officiating.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Alice Bujold Tassé

The death of Alice Bujold Tassé age 67 occurred in Montreal on July 15, 2007. Born in Fleurant Point, QC, she was the beloved daughter of Maurice Bujold and the late Ila Court. She will be sadly missed by her husband Guy Tassé, her daughter Louise (Robert Drovin) and Lynn and her grandchildren Mark, Domonick, Véronique and Emily.

She is survived by her brothers Sterling (Dorothy) Bujold, Ed (Ivy) Bujold of Fredericton, NB, and Gene Bujold of Cross Point, QC.

A funeral service was held July 29, 2007 in the Chapel at the Alfred Dallaire Complex in Laval, QC. Father George Oakes officiated.

A memorial service was held July 28 from the Escuminac United Church with Rev. Raymond Kraglund presiding. Ed Bujold delivered the eulogy. A tribute to her mother was given by Lynn Tassé. Soloist was Norman Parent, a family friend. Interment took place at the Escuminac United Church Cemetery.

Alice will always be remembered for her strength and courage in time of illness, as well as her kindness and love for her family and friends.

M. Joan (Englehart) Whittaker

Whittaker - M. Joan (Englehart) Whittaker of Hoyt, N. B. passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on August 21, 2007 at the age of 85.

Joan issurvived by four sons Alfred and Lillian of Gambo, Newfoundland, James of Merigomish, N. S., Stanley and Trudy of Petawawa, Ontario and John and Lea of Fredericton Junction, N. B., a sister Alma Moran of Trenton, Ontario, a brother Boyd and Norma Englehart of Main River, N. B., a sister-in-law Grace Nason of Hoyt, N. B., 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. Joan was a member of the Patterson United Church and loved to quilt, cook and play cards. She is predeceased by her parents Kathleen (Colegate) and Benjamin Englehart, her husband Cecil L. Whittaker, one sister Hope Oulton, three brothers Alderson, James and Melvin. Relatives and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home for visitation on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9.

Funeral service will be from the Patterson United Church on Friday August 24, 2007 at 2 PM with the Rev. Jeff Bursey officiating. Interment to follow in the Patterson United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
