Roy Doucet
Passed away after a battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Kathleen Doucet. Dear son, of Lila and the late Arthur Doucet and son-in-law, of Helen Harris, both of Campbellton, New Brunswick. Loving father of Colleen Doucet; Cherryl (John) Cole of North Carolina; and Thomas (Julie-Anne) Doucet. Cherished grandfather of Jessica and Christopher Cole. Fondly remembered by his brother Ralph Doucet and his sister Faye Gill. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, September 15, 2008 at PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME. In memory of Mr. Doucet donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family. Mary Harquail Flaherty
Mary Harquail Flaherty passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Thursday, September 18. Prior to moving to Vancouver in 2007, she was a longtime resident (after 1945) of Montreal and Fort Lauderdale. Mary was born into a prosperous family in Campbelton, NB on April 6, 1916. She is survived by two of her nine brothers and sisters, Sister, Margaret Harquail, CND, of Sydney, NS, and Gerald Harquail (Ginette) of Toronto. Mary was a Registered Nurse, a devout Roman Catholic, a highly supportive mother, and a caring grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary married Edwin B. Flaherty, a chemist and entrepreneur, in September, 1938 and they had eight children, all of whom survive them, David of Victoria, Ted of Montreal, Ann Gilmartin (Frank) of Darien, CT, Gerry of Cornwall, Ont., Patrick (Sylvie Lepage) of Montreal, Jim (Christine Elliott) of Whitby, Ont., and Norah (Robert Levy) and Mary (Bernard Fletcher) of Vancouver. At her passing, Mary had 18 grandchildren and 10 great grand children. An amazing legacy. A funeral is planned for St. Patrick's Basilica in Montreal at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, with visitation on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Collins Clarke funeral home at 5610 Sherbrooke Street West in Montreal. Antoinette Levesque

Est décédée à l'hôpital régional de Saint Jean, le 21 septembre, 2008 à l'âge de 78 ans, Madame Antoinette Levesque. Née à Dalhousie le 27 août 1930, elle était la fille de feu Hilaire Blanchard et de feue Régina Tardif. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses fils, Daniel Levesque (Josée), Jean-Guy (Pauline), Gérald (Nick) et Henri (Marie), sa soeur, Irène Gagnée, ses frères Antoinio (Simone) et Albert (Jeanette), ainsi que cinq petits-enfants et quatre arrières petits-enfants. Prédécédée par son époux Marcel Levesque. Les funérailles ont eu lieu en l'Église St. Jean Baptiste de Dalhousie, jeudi le 25 septembre à 14h00. Les arrangements funéraires ont été confiés aux soins du Salon Funéraire Maher de Dalhousie.
Jane Savoie
Née MARY SARAH JEAN BABINEAU Passed away peacefully on September 19, 2008, in her 90th year. Daughter of the late Simon Babineau and the late Marie-Anne Després. Beloved wife of the late Allan Savoie. She leaves behind her daughter, and three sons, Jacqueline (Paul), Leo (Marie-Josée), Gerald (Nicole) and Marc (Janet); as well as six grandchildren, Anne-Marie, Nicolas, Alexandre, Marie-Andrée, Pierre-Olivier and Justine. She also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Ramona Lumsden. Born in Rogersville, New-Brunswick she left her work as a legal assistant in 1946 to raise her family. Always there to support her husband in his wide range of community activities in Campbellton, New-Brunswick, she returned to work once the children were grown, first with a medical clinic and then with a French language newspaper (L'Aviron) in Campbellton. She moved to Ottawa in 1984, following her husband's death, to be close to her children who had all settled in the National Capital Region. The family wishes to thank the staff of the CSLD Montfort for their devoted attention to Jane while under their care. Friends are invited to celebrate her life at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & Mcgarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Thursday September 25, 2008 after 13:00 hrs followed by a service in the chapel at 15:30 hrs. Jacqueline Dubé Mill 1920 - 2008
Jacqueline passed away on July 8 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 88. She was predeceased by husband, Leonard (1987); son, Maurice (1967); and grandson, Karl (1996). A lifelong resident of Matapedia, Jacqueline was the mother of Robert (Louise), Louis, Claude (Ginette), Bernard (Lise), Richard (Line) and André (Opal); grandmother of Ryan, Colin, Kevin, Maurice, Jessie, Paul, Greg, Stacy and Kathleen; great-grandmother of Matthew and Coralie; sister of Fabienne Greene, the late Roger Dubé, the late Andre Dubé, the late Jean-Paul Dubé, Alberte Daviault and Jean-Eudes Dubé. A funeral mass was celebrated on July 11 at the Saint Laurent church in Matapedia, followed by internment in the church cemetary and reception with family and friends. Jaqueline's family wishes to express its gratitude to the many friends and relatives for their assistance and expression of sympathy.
André Lapointe 1924 - 2008
Passed away at the DVA wing of the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 22, 2008 at the age of 83, Mr. André (John Andrew) Lapointe. Born in Eel River Crossing on Decemer 27, 1924, he was the son of the late André and the late Delima Lapointe. He was a veteran of the Second World War and served with the "North Shore Regiment". He was a member of the Dalhousie Royal Canadian Legion. He worked for 42 years as an employee of the Dalhousie pulp & paper mill. He leaves to mourn his wife Yvonne (Lafrance) Lapointe, his three daughters Joanne (Gilbert Poitras), Micheline (Rhéal Arsenault) and Carole (Louis Savoie); eight grandchildren: Josiane, Véronique, Christine, Eric, Martin, Brigitte, Frédérik and Jasmine; three sisters: Rita Leblanc, Maria Murray and Anita Lapointe; half-sister Béatrice Clancy; one brother-in-law: Roméo Lafrance (Lorette); one sister-in-law: Fernande Vaillancourt, other family and friends. Predeceased by one half-brother Ernest Lapointe, one brother Armand (Corey) as well as two sisters Cécilia (Paul-Émile) and Bella. The funeral mass was held from St. John Baptist Church Dalhousie on Wednesday September 24th at 2pm. Donations to the donor's choice would be appreciated. Aline Léa Gallant Butler 1939 - 2008
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 20, 2008 at the age of 69, Mrs. Aline Léa Gallant Butler. Born in Campbellton on April 16, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Turgeon and the late Marianne Duguay. She leaves to mourn her husband, Kenneth Butler of Tide Head; her daughters, Mona Gallant (Yvon Leclair) of Atholville; Guylaine Gallant (Raymond Lamarre) of Ottawa; and Terri Butler of Campbellton; her sons, Denis Gallant (Debbie McDavid) of Atholville; Gilles Gallant (Jocelyne Gallant) of Atholville; Daniel Gallant (Barbara Eagles) of Atholville; Yves Gallant of Atholville; and Kevin Butler (Nicole Butler) of Calgary; her sister, Rita Francoeur (Paul Francoeur) of Charlo; her brothers, Maurice Turgeon of Richardsville; and Jean-Pierre Turgeon of Charlo. Also survived by her 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Predeceased by her son, Allain Gallant; her mother and father and sister Philomene Renaud. The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Lourdes Church Atholville on Wednesday September 24th at 11am. Father Benoit officiating. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
