A resident of Dalhousie all her life, Margaret was an active leader of the Girl Guide movement and served as Commissioner for a number of years. No matter the season, Margaret was truly an outdoor enthusiast. You could find her on the banks of the river teaching her grandchildren to fish or tearing up the trails on a snowmobile. She hosted many marshmallow roasts and cross country ski outings. She was a member of the CWL, for a number of years and late, a very happy member of the "Golden Girls". Her love of nature and people was evident in her artwork. She was a very generous and anonymous donor to many families in the area.
Margaret left her legacy in the hearts and memories of all who met her. She maintained an open door policy long before it was the popular thing to do.
Quite often, her sofas and floor space were filled with people who needed a place to stay. Shelter from the storm. To all who crossed her doorstep, she is lovingly remembered as "MOM".
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer Society.
