Robert(Bob) Harris

The death of Robert (Bob) Harris age 67 of Sackville occured suddenly at his home on Tuesday, April 16, 2002.

Born in Campbellton, he was a son of the late Robert and Margaret (Sherrard) Harris.

Bob was a former employee with Lounsbury Co. He retired with over 40 years of service. A life time member of the Presbyterian Church of Canada, he was Clerk of Session and Elder at St. Andrew's in Sackville. Bob was the treasurer of the Saint John Presbytery of the Prebyterian Church, treasurer of the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation, a member of the Sackville Community Association, and long time active member of the Sackville/Amherst Gideon Camp. He was as well a trustee of the Sackville Cemetery Co. and a member of the Tantramar Twirlers Square Dance Club.

Bob will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Sylvia Gentry, Sackville; a son Robert (Sharon), Truro, NS; 2 grandchildren, Robert and Allison; 4 stepchildren, Michael Patterson, Jeffrey (Gail) Deiber-Patterson and Anne Patterson all of London Ontario and Mary (Cameron) Linnell, Darwin, AUS.; a brother, Gordon (Mona), Atholville NB; a niece, Jane MacDonald and a nephew, Murray Harris. He was predeceased by his former wife Muriel Tower.

The funeral service was held at St. Andrew's Prebyterian Church, Sackville on Saturday, April 20, 2002. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery.

Mrs. Connie Furlong (Arseneault)

The death of Mrs. Connie Furlong (Arseneault) of 344 Vimy Street, Dalhousie, occurred in Dalhousie on April 21, 2002, at the age of 72.

Born in Campbellton on November 23, 1929 she was the daughter of Clifford Steeves and Hughena Poley. She had worked at the N.B.I.P. mill as a custodian and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary, the Senior Citizens Club and enjoyed painting and line dancing.

She is survived by her husband Benoit (Ben) Arseneault; daughters, Jean (Penny) Landry (Brian) of Moncton, Sharon Simon (Paul) of Shediac, Debbie Doucet (Donald) of Eel River Crossing and Ann Gallen of Moncton; sons, Jeffery (Jacqueline) and Brian (Cheryl), both of Dalhousie, and stepsons Raymond Arseneault of Oromocto and Ronald Arseneault of Montreal; sisters Geraldine Bourque of Edmonton and Sandra Keilly of Riverview; brothers, James Steeves of Atholville and Wally Steeves of Moncton, and 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on April 24 from St. John Bosco Church, Dalhousie with Rev. William Arseneault officiating.

Funeral arrangements were in care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.

Mrs. Alfreda Bacon

The death of Mrs. Alfreda Bacon occurred on April 20, 2002, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 81.

She was born on November 1, 1920 in Jacquet River to Frank Guitard and Marie Louise Cormier.

She is survived by her daughter Corinne (Martial) Perron of Campbellton; her sons, Henri Bacon and Paul Bacon of Campbellton, Roland Bacon of Edmunston and Armand Bacon of Pointe la Nim; her sisters, Adeline Guitard and Marie Daigle; her brothers, Joseph and Raymond Guitard, seven grandchildren, Francine Cronin, Joanne Perron Cyr, Chantale Daigle, Jerry Bacon, Gaétan Perron, Diane Bacon and Diane Pitre and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin Bacon; her sisters, Helen Gallant and Cecile Guitard and her brothers, Edgar Guitard, Delphis Guitard and Houstan Guitard.

Funeral services were held on April 23 from Maher's Funeral Home Chapel, Campbellton.

Pallbearers were Gaétan Perron, Marc Cyr, Jerry Bacon, and Terry Rose.
