Edgar Carrier

The death of Edgar Carrier of Campbellton, formerly of Lorne occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, September 21, 2004, at the age of 62.

Born in Lorne, he was the son of Frank Carrier and Laura Francoeur.

He is survived by his children: Carey and Jennifer and one granddaughter. Also brothers Donald (Cora), Mickey, Murray (Dorothy), Connie (Florence) and sisters Nora Mallaley (Alexander), Ethel Mallaley (Edward) and Eva Gallen (Herman). He was predeceased by his parents Laura and Frank Carrier, and brothers Abraham, Elric, Elias, Leo, Kenneth, Allison and Eldon.

Hilda Nelson

Hilda Nelson 82, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton on Monday September 20, 2004. Born in London, England, daughter of the late Henry and Annie (Kiebler) Rose. Hilda came to Canada as a war bride in 1946, and settled in Campbellton with her husband and children. She was Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of Moncton Legion #6, a former volunteer with the Moncton Red Cross, Blood Donor Clinic and a former volunteer visitor of the Veterans at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital.

Hilda will be sadly missed by her children: Barbara, Point du Chene, Barrie (Bev), Japan, Linda (Doug), Oromocto; grandchildren: Christopher, Toronto, Kelly (Ignacio), Santiago, Chile, Rozjanne, Ottawa, Darren, Ottawa, Sasha, Halifax: brother, Maurice Rose (Gwen), Great Britain, and many other relatives in England and Canada. Predeceased by her husband Stewart W. Nelson (1957). Hilda will be sadly missed and remembered as a woman of great strength, kindness and love, with a wonderful sense of British humour.

Gabriel Eugene LaBelle

The death of Gabriel Eugene LaBelle of 464 Queen St., Dalhousie, occurred in Campbellton on September 20, 2004, at the age of 72.

Born in Dalhousie on March 22, 1932, he was the son of the late Exavier LaBelle and the late Ernestine Miron. Gabriel was employed with the NBIP mill in Dalhousie as a paper-maker. He was a member of the Campbellton Lions Club and member of the Campbellton Legion Auxiliary.

He is survived by his daughter Cynthia (Donald) Doiron and Natasha LaBelle, both of Dalhousie; sisters Anita of Eel River Crossing, Diane of Ontario and Jacqueline of Montreal, Quebec; brothers George of Dalhousie, Gerald of Dalhousie, Gilles of Ontario, Dennis of Montreal, Raymond of Montreal, Leo of Edmundston, Aurele of Ontario an Claude of Ontario; as well as two granddaughters Holly and Emelie.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife Diana in 1999 and brother Marcel in 1988.

Howard Coulombe

The death of Howard Coulombe, age 58, occurred suddenly September 13, 2004, in Ottawa, Ont., with cremation service taking place on September 16th.

He was the son of the late John D. and Alma Coulombe (Fitzpatrick/Gaspe).

Howard was born and raised in Dalhousie and worked as a Papermaker. He left Dalhousie and worked for a time in Ocean Falls, B.C. after which he returned to work and lived in Ottawa where he resided for the last 18 years. He earned his Mechanic Degree and worked in Construction for some time.

Howard has been brought back to Dalhousie where he will remain, always, in the hearts of those who loved him. In Dalhousie he is survived by his brother, Lenwood (Rose), his niece nad nephews, Rachel LeClair, Brian of Moncton, NB, Ricky, Eddy, and Terry; his sister, Barbara (Paul) Robichaud and their children, Nicole (Nicki) his Godchild, Chantal and Rene of Fredericton, NB; in Carleton , P.Q., his ex-wife Lyne Emond; in Vancouver, his sister, Janet Robinson, her children, Sheryl and Steven plus his youngest brother, Jack; in addition, his many friends and relatives especially those in Windsor, N.S. and Ottawa.

Howard will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by family and friends.

Pearl Edwards

The death of Pearl Edwards of Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 20, 2004, at the age of 80.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, on October 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Whitney Fraser and the late Anne Porter. Pearl was a retired Registered Nurse, member of the Fleurant and Campbellton U.C.W. and member of the Escuminac Golden Age Club.

She is survived by her husband Ralph Edwards of Campbellton; daughter Ruth (Fred) Waddy of Colpitts Settelement, NB.; son Stephen (Edith) Edwards of Escuminac, Quebec; Susan Edwards of Fredericton, Heather Edwards of Escuminac, David Waddy of Ottawa, Christina Waddy of Moncton and Michael Waddy of Colpitts Settlement, N.B.

Doris May "Geldart" Gilmore
After a long struggle with Alzheimer's , Doris died at the Campbellton Nursing Home on September 23, 2004.

Doris was the youngest child born to Lawson and Stella Geldart of Atholville, N.B. She grew up in a loving family surrounded by her brother Eldridge and her sisters Ardeth, Rena and Emily. It was here in Campbellton that Doris met her husband Hazen and raised her daughter Linda.

Doris found strength in her religion as a longtime member of First Baptist church. She devoted many years to taking care of children in the church nursery.

She was predeceased by her father (Lawson), her mother (Stella), husband (Hazen), brother Eldridge (Alyuna), sisters Ardeth (Carl) Edmunds, Emily (James) Butler and nephew Raymond Edmunds.

Doris is survived by her daughter Linda Samuel (Winston) and sister Rena MacKenzie (Glen). She will be fondly remembered by her grandson Jonathan Samuel, son-in-law Winston Samuel and her nieces and nephews Sandra Cameron (Bruce), Sheila Robertson (Jim), Margaret Kuppinen (Hank), Bob Butler (Kim), Michael Geldart (Norma), Katherine LaPierre (Marcel), Susan McPhail (Bruce), Nancy Gilbert (Stephen), Andrew Geldart (Heather), Eldridge Edmunds (Betty) and Brian Edmunds (Colette).

Doris took her last journey on September 24, 2004 and now rests at the Campbellton Rural Cemetery with her husband, Hazen.

Doris's family wishes to thank the staff of the Campbellton Nursing Home for their professionalism and heartfelt care.

Marc Thomas Santerre
Marc passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta on September 15, 2004, after suffering a severe aneurysm while hiking on trails in the Kootney area.

Marc was born November 28, 1964, and is survived by his parents Roger and Bernadette (Donovan) Santerre of Campbellton, his sister Mary Theresa, (Jean) Mainville, Rockland, Ontario, brothers Jack (Kathy Roy), Sioux Lookout, Ont., Paul (Shelley Cosman), Whitby, Ont., and Raymond (Pauline Godbout), Campbellton. Eight very special nieces and nephews Jenifer Santerre-Smith (Tim) and daughter Courtney, Thomson, Manitoba, Michael Santerre, Campbellton, Eric, Francois, Meagan Mainville, Rockland, Ont., Kelsey and Thomas Santerre, Whitby, Ont., and Julene Santerre, Campbellton, several aunts and uncles and cousins.

We are ever grateful to his many close friends and coleagues that have opened up their homes and supplied meals, provided friendship over these past days, both in Calgary and Canmore, Alberta.

Marc is a graduate of Polyvalente Roland Pepin High School in Campbellton, Electrical Engineer, USB (1988) Fredericton, M.B.A. St. Mary's (1996) Halifax, N.S. and a A.C. M9 Hiking Guide (June 2004). He was enrolled in the Scouting movement, a holder of the Queen Scout Badge, a scout leader in Bathurst, N.B. Marc was employed with Bathurst Mines Royal Bank, Toronto, Ont, before moving to Calgary. He traveled world wide with his work after he moved to Calgary and also with his passion for Mountain Climbing.
