Mary Ena Innes

The death of Mary Ena Innes occurred at Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody. British Columbia, on January 11, 2002.

She was in her 94th year and had been living with her daughter, Ann, and her husband, Bernard Shaw.

She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Elizabeth (McGovern) Callaghan of McLeods, NB She was the youngest of eight children and the last surviving member of the family.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann and by several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Howard, predeceased her in 1949.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Father Augustine Obiwumma at St. Joseph's Church in Port Moody on January 16.

Interment will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery on Saturday May 18 at 11 a.m. with prayers by Father Wade.

Burial arrangements are in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Elizabeth (Margaret) Christie

The death of Mrs. Elizabeth (Margaret) Christie, wife of the late Kenneth Christie, occurred at the St. Joseph's Hospital, Dalhousie on May 8 at the age of 86.

She was born in Bathurst on October 4, 1915, adoptive daughter to Frank and Lucy (Haché) Stever.

She is survived by six children: Laura (Germain) Lavoie, Dalhousie; Erven (Gaetane) Christie, Montreal; Burman (Aldea) Christie, Bathurst; Deanna (James) Perry, Dalhousie; Kenneth (Lynn) Christie Jr., Kamploops, B.C.; Linda (Tony) Bernard, Nigadoo; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was, in her earlier years, a very active member of the C.W.L., as well as the Legion's Ladies auxiliary. She loved music and singing, was a past member of the Chaleur Echoes and Bathurst Golden Age Club.

A memorial service was held at the Saint John Bosco Church, Dalhousie on May 13.

Funeral arragements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie. .

Charles Chesser

The death of Mr. Charles Chesser of Campbellton occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 3, 2002 at the age of 77.

He was born in Mann's Mountain on February 27, 1925 to Thomas Chesser and Eva Moores.

He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Jacques) Godbout of Saint John and Donna (Mike) Arsenault of Glen Levit; one son Lorne (Michelle) of Ammon. NB; six grandchildren, Raelyn (Etienne), Lori (Ron), Ken, Liette (Jay), Katya (Sean) and Sara; Four great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Bryan, Yannick and Naomi; and two sisters, Beth of Montreal and Gertrude of Havelock.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marion, in 1986.

The funeral service was held at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, Campbellton, on May 6 with Father Wade officiating and co-officiated by good friend Father Broderick. Interment in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kenny Valdron, Etienne Lagace, Scott Thompson, Mike Chesser, Jacques Godbout and Robert LeBrun.

Honourary pallbearers were Eddie Martin, Henry Lyons, Bob Parlee, Murray Price, Gerry Bertin and Reggie Law.

Funeral arragements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

William Shannon

The death of William Shannon occurred May 7 at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Dalhousie, at the age of 63.

Born in Jacquet River, he was the son of John Shannon and Mary (Godine-Dempsey).

He is survived by his brothers, James (Edna) of St. Stephen, Roland of Rolling Dam, Glen (Lelia) of Zealand, Lyle (Devata) of Temperancevale, Bernard of Sunnyside and Wilfred, Harry Francis Lemay of Montreal.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Murray and Ralph and his sisters, Mary "Tilly" Pye and Elizabeth Sealy.

He is lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law, Lloyd Sealy and his sister-in-law, Diane Shannon, daughter Heather and his many nieces and nephews.

His funeral was held from the Mission Church of Christ, Lorne, on May 9, officiated by Rev. Gary Doucet with burial as St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Jacquet River.
