Emily Travers

Mrs. Emily Travers of York Manor, Fredericton, passed away on September 14, 2005, at the age of 103 years.

Born in Mann's Mountain, N.B., on November 19, 1901, she was the daughter of the late James Craswell and the late Sarah Wafer.

Surviving is daughter Doris (Willis) Johnson of Fredericton; 6 grandchildren: Debbie (Mike) Allen, Bob (Connie) Johnson, Nancy (Philip) O'Toole, Rod Travers, Tom (Kim) Travers, and Peter (Janet) Travers; 10 great-grandchildren: Mark, Scott Allen, Jessica, Nathan Johnson, Corey, Cody, Christopher O'Toole, Stewart, Holly, Anna Travers; one daughter-in-law Mary Travers, one sister-in-law Beulah Craswell.

Predeceasing was her husband Ivan Travers, son Eldred and grandson Michael.

The funeral was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel in Campbellton on September 19, 2005, officiated by Rev. Douglas Blaikie, with interment in the Flatlands Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lyman Craswell, Gerald Craswell, Lorne Irvine, Barry Irvine, Royce Craswell, and Denzil Craswell. Honourary pallbearers were Joyce Morrison, Freida Harvey, Glenda Sherrard, June Craswell, and Betty Cook Adams.

Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Iona Ramona Doiron

The death of Iona Ramona Doiron of Dalhousie, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on October 9, 2005, at the age of 75.

Born in Dalhousie, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Lewis Flanagan and the late Rebecca Grenier. Iona was the first women to the church Vestry, member of St. Mary's Choir and St. Mary's Women's Club Secretary.

Surviving is her husband John J. Doiron of Dalhousie, daughter Carol (Glenn) Webb of Saint John, N.B., sons Blair (Carmen) Doiron of Sussex, N.B. and John F. (Myrian) Doiron of Dalhousie, sisters Irene Savoy of Richibucto, N.B., Maxine Flanagan of Dalhousie and Lila Taylor of Dalhousie and brother Gay Flanagan of Dalhousie. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held from St. Mary's Anglican Church in Dalhousie on October 12, 2005, officiated by Rev. Andrew Fraser, with interment in the New Mills Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.

Patricia Valdron

The death of Patricia Valdron, wife of the late Benoit Valdron of Dalhousie, occurred Thursday, October 6, 2005, at the age of 79 years old after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Birmingham, England, she was the daughter of the late Albert Inman and the late Ethel Wiffin.

She will be sorrowfully missed by her three daughters: Carol LePage (Robert) of Dalhousie, Hazel Johnson (Sterling) of Point La Nim, and Bennitta Carrier (Claude) of Belledune (Jacquet River), and by her six grandchildren: Shelley LePage of Dalhousie, Rhonda LePage of Fredericton, Lori Johnson of Charlo, Derek Johnson of Dryden, Ontario, Darron Carrier of Belledune, Francis Carrier (Roxane) of Fredericton and one great grandchild, 18 month old, Brett Carrier.

She was also a loving sister To Lettitia Bird and Neville Inman of Birmingham, England.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Earl (Chum) Valdron of Dalhousie, and her sisters-in-law, Matilda (Babe) LaPointe of Dalhousie, Verne Valdron of St. John, Violet Patterson of Hamilton, ON, and Pearl O'Neil of Dundas, ON.

Pat, as she was affectionately called, will be sadly missed by many friends and neighbours. She was also predeceased by five brothers, Frederick of Madison, Ohio, Albert, Derrick, and Reginald of Birmingham, England, Charles of Shropshire, England and one brother-in-law Regis Valdron of Dalhousie.

Her funeral was held on Monday, October 10, 2005, at St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie, officiated by Father Arseneault. Pallbearers were Robert LePage, Sterling Johnson, Claude Carrier, Darron Carrier, Francis Carrier, and Anthony Boucher.

Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.

Sister Louise Boudreau, f.j.

Sister Louise Boudreau, in religion, Marie Laurentia, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2005 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital at the age of 95 and in her 70th year of her religious profession.

Born in Chéticamp, NS, she was the daughter of the late Placide and Esther (Broussard) Boudreau. Besides her religious family, she is survived by 2 brothers: Fathers Daniel and David Boudreau, o.p., both of Montréal.

She is predeceased by her brothers & sisters: Willie, Joseph, Sister Ethel, f.j., Laurent, Amédée, her twin Alex John, Father Paul, diocesan priest, Patrice, Luce Antoinette and Léo.

Sister Louise spent the greater part of her life working in Arichat, l'Ardoise, Margaree and Chéticamp Nova Scotia; Dalhousie and Moncton in New Brunswick.

Her remains rested Monday, October 10, 2005, at the Provincial House, 553 Elmwood Drive, Moncton, from where the funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday, October 11, 2005. Interment was in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
