Albert Hickey
The death of Albert Hickey of Gravelhill occurred at Campbellton Regional Hospital Monday, September 24, 2007 at the age of 78. Born in Gravelhill, he was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Hickey.
Albert is survived by his sons-John Allen of Hamilton; Larry of St. Catherines; Lloyd of Hamilton; Preston of Moncton; Romeo of Moncton and Calvin of Gravelhill daughters Valerie Ann Carrier of Gravelhill, Brenda Lee Hickey of Nash Creek, Michelle Hickey of Gravelhill; Rosa Hickey of Val D'Amours; and Sandra Nicklov of London ON 6 grandchildren; 6 greatgrandchildren; Brother Thomas and sisters Betty, Mary, Olive and Helen. He was pre-deceased by his wife Ida; son Adam; brother Jimmy; and sisters Charlotte Mallaley and Blanche Daigle.
His funeral was held from St. Joseph Church Nash Creek, Wednesday Sept.26,2007 officiated by Father David Ferguson.Pallbearers were Breck Chamberlain,Lance O'BrienDavid Carrier,Troy LaPointe,Clay LaPointe and Calvert LaPointe..Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillans Funeral Home,Black Point. www.macmillansfuneralhome.ca
Cora Montplaisir
1960- 2007
On September 21, 2007 Mary Stella Cora Montplaisir passed away peacefully at her home.
Born in Dalhousie, NB she was the daughter of Geraldine Montplaisir and the late Arthur Montplaisir.
She is survived by her mother Gerry of Dalhousie, (1) sister Irene Smith of Bathurst and (3) brothers Kenneth of Halifax, James of Charlo and David of Moncton. She was pre-deceased by her father Arthur and brother Theodore.
The Funeral mass was held from St. John Bosco Church Dalhousie on September 25th at 2pm. Father Bill Arsenault officiating.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher`s Funeral Home, Dalhousie, NB.
Gabriel S. Doucet
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 27, 2007 at the age of 71, Mr. Gabriel Doucet. Born in Campbellton on April 8, 1936, he was the son of the late Antoine Doucet and the late Marguerite Furlong. Mr. Doucet was a plumber by trade.
He leaves to mourn his wife Ann Lavoie Doucet, his daughter Joan Doucet of Campbellton, his sons Peter Gary Doucet (Elizabeth Martin) of Campbellton and Terry Doucet of Alberta, his sister Doreen Doucet of Campbellton. Predeceased by his parents and his brother Daniel Doucet.
The funeral mass was held from St. Thomas Aquinas Church Campbellton on Monday October 1st at 11am. Father Bill Arsenault officiating. Interment was at Our Lady of Snows Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
George Clifton (Kip) Watling
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 25, 2007 at the age of 85, Mr. George Clifton (Kip) Watling. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario on June 30, 1922, he was the son of the late Donald Ernest Watling and the late Alice McLean. Kip was an Accounts Manager at Lounsbury for a period of 37 years. He was involved in many clubs & organizations but the following stood out: Chairman of the Blood Donor Clinic, Camp Chaleur Council, Paul Harris Award recipient, Campbellton Citizen of the year (1985) and UCT Fraternalist of year 2007 for Atlantic Grand Council.
He leaves to mourn his wife Marian Watling of Campbellton, his daughters Sandra (Steve) Finner of Ottawa and Patty (Pierre) Roy of Moncton, his sons Richard (Debrah) of Bathurst, Allan (Cindy) of Campbellton, Brian (Cecile) of Ottawa and Kerry (Judy) of Ottawa, his brother Gilbert (Mary) of NewCastle. Also survived by his grandchildren Michael, Sara, Katie, Allie, Joey, Jordan, David and Nathan, several nieces & nephews.
Predeceased by his sister Joyce Wishart and brother Ernest Watling.
The funeral service was held on Friday September 28th from First United Church Campbellton at 2pm. Reverend Raymond Kraglund officiating. Interment was at the Campbellton Rural Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Busteed, Roger Santerre, Ralph McNeil, Joey Postorino, Michael Watling and Rod Hachey.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Inez Mazerolle
Inez Mazerolle of Dalhousie N.B. passed away peacefully in her home, Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 82 years of age. Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of the late Irvin Hickey and Anne (Shannon) Hickey. She was also predeceased in death by her loving husband of 58 years Alban, and two siblings Theresa Shirley Hickey and Irvin Hickey Jr.
She is survived by her children, Carmel Marshall (Jeff) Amherst, N.S., Janet Briaud (Jean-Louis) College Station, Texas, Dan (Katherine) Dartmouth, N.S., David Saint John, N.B., Rae (Lynn) Dalhousie, N.B., and Paul (Carole) Dieppe, N.B.; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brothers Owen Jacquet River, Evan Riverview; sisters Iva Jenkins England, Kathleen Delahunt Moncton, Frances Smith Moncton, Ada Frenette Jacquet River and Monica Bourque Jacquet River.
Her funeral was held at St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie on Thursday September 20, 2007, officiated by Father William Arseneault and assisted by Father David Ferguson and Father Greg Culligan. Lois McCurdy Rosengren
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Lois McCurdy Rosengren of Nash Creek, occurred Sunday, September 30, 2007, at Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 78. Born in Black Point, she was the daughter of Arnold McCurdy and Mina (Jamieson).
Lois worked at the Nash Creek Post Office until her retirement. She was actively involved in her church and was a long time member of the UCW. She will be missed for her sense of humor and her compassion and generosity to others.
She is survived by her special friend Eddie Russell, his daughter Debbie Furlong (Ralph) of Dalhousie, nephew Terry Atkins (Amber) of Phoenix, Arizona, niece Christine Atkins (Wayne) of Quispamsis, great nephews Justin Atkins, Michael Belliveau, great nieces Tracy Smith (Ryan),Ashley Atkins and great great nephew Everett Smith.
She was predeceased by her sisters Muriel Archibald, and Wanda Atkins.
A gravesite service for family and friends was held from New Mills United Cemetery Monday, October 1, 2007, officiated by Rev. Don Fairweather. Donations can be made to Bethel United Church or a charity of the donor's choice. Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.

Marion Isabel Kennedy
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 27, 2007, Mrs. Marion Isabel Kennedy. Born in Glen Levit, NB, she was the daughter of the late John J. Thompson and the late Gladys Barbara Kierstead. She was a lifelong member of the Women's Institute, member of the ACW, Lay Reader for the past 50 years and very active in the Church.
She leaves to mourn her sisters-in-law Doris Thompson from Glen Levit and Geraldine Kennedy, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband Howard and her brother Reggie Thompson.
The funeral service was held from Christ Anglican Church Campbellton on Saturday September 29th at 2pm. Rev. Arnold Godsoe officiating. Interment was at the Flatlands Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie Coughlan, Bob Coughlan, Roy Coughlan, William Kennedy, Donald Pollock and Ronald Kierstead.

Thierry Landry
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 21, 2007 at the age of 24, Mr. Thierry Landry. Born in Dalhousie on August 10, 1983, he was the son of Michel Landry and Aline Poirier. He worked as an electrician apprentice for a period of 2 years.
He leaves to mourn his girlfriend Vanessa Levesque, his mother Aline Poirier, his father Michel Landry, his stepfather Keith White, his brother Eric Landry from Fort McMurray, Alberta, as well as many nieces & nephews.
The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Snows Church Campbellton on Tuesday September 25th at 2pm. Father Morrison officiating. Pallbearers were Philippe Bernard, Allain Caissie, Luc Gallant, Patrick Gray, Marc-André Pelletier and René Landry.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Valmont L. Poirier
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 25, 2007 at the age of 83, Mr. Valmont L. Poirier of Campbellton and formerly of Dalhousie. Born in Dalhousie, NB on February 11, 1924, he was the son of the late Irénée Poirier and the late Diana Ward.
He leaves to mourn his wife Patricia Poirier, his daughter Diane Poirier of Dalhousie, NB, his son Raynald (Linda) Poirier of Bas-Caraquet, NB (Pokesudie), his stepsons Gérald (Debbie) Doucet of Campbellton and Roger (Raymonde) Doucet of Shédiac, his sisters Elizabeth Poirier-Ball, Margaret Poirier-Rankine and Juliette Poirier-Fortin, his brothers Joe, Lloyd, Edward, Clarence and Bill. Also survived by 6 grandchildren Jean-Marc, Karine, Patrice, Benoit, Jean-Pierre and Jéremie, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sisters Angelina Poirier-Desjardins, Alida Poirier-Frigault and Geraldine Poirier-Normandin.
The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Snows Church Campbellton on Wednesday September 26th at 2:00 pm. Father Benoit officiating.
