Shirley Isaac-Brisk
The death of Shirley Isaac-Brisk of 1-b Elder Street, Listuguj, Quebec, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 17, 2002., at the age of 68.
Born in Listuguj on April 8, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Abel Isaac and the late Anastasie Marchand.
She is survived by her former husband, Gilbert Brisk of Listuguj. her daughters, Sheila Brisk and Pauline Brisk of Listuguj and Judy (William) Brisk-White of Prince Rupert, B.C.; her sons. Joseph (Romona) Brisk, Donald Martin, Roland Brisk, Maurice Brisk, Peter Brisk, Paul Brisk, George Martin and Gerry Martin of Listuguj; her sisters, Angelique Lind Isaac, Diane Condo, Theresa (Xavier Sewell, George Metalic, Verbine Barnaby, all Of Listuguj, and Mabel Hutchinson of the U.S.A.; her brother, James Isaac. Hubert Isaac, Francis 'Poncho' (Helene) Isaac, all of Listuguj, and Ernest (Reta) Isaac of Nova Scotia; 21 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one son, Terry; one brother, Hector Isaac, and one sister, Mary Isaac.
Funeral services were held from St. Ann's Chrurch, Listuguj, on May 20 with Father Evariste Landry. Interment in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were Scott Martin, James Martin, Rene Martin, Clayton Gedeon. Mark Brisk and Harvey Barnaby.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Frank Englehart
The death of Frank Englehart (age 85) of 16 Richard Road, Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 17, 2002.
He was a World War II veteran.
Born on March 30, 1917, he was the son of the late Alex Englehart and Philomene Allain.
He is survived by his wife, Marjolie (Lewis) Englehart, formerly of England. and children, Michael (Donna) of Burlington, Raymond (Huguette) of Campbellton, Richard (Brenda) of Campbellton, Carol Firlotte (Gary) of Riverview, Gerald (Amy) of Quispamsis, Allen (Maggie) of St, Martins, Lynn Hachey (Gary) of Moncton, Lawrence (Kathy) of Bedford, N.S., James of Ottawa and a sister, Irene McLean of Campbellton. He also leaves behind 29 Grandchildren (1 predeceased) and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held on May 20 at Mary Queen Church, Campbellton.

Bertha Guitar
Bertha Guitar of Jacquet River passed away suddenly at her home at the age of 90.
Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of Joseph Levesque and Helen Duplessis.
She is survived by her husband, Fred; two sons, David (Jean) of Bathurst and Martin (Virginia) of Jacquet River; three daughters, Anne (Steve) Monton of Montreal, Simone Pitre of Belledune and Vera (Lawrence) Lawlor of Sarnia, Ontario; 13 grand-children and seven great-grand-children.
She was a member of St. Gabriel's Church and a member of the CWL for over 60 years, as well as a former president of the Jacquet River Seniors Club.
Her funeral was held May 24 from St. Gabriel's Church, officiated by Father Benoit, with burial in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kenneth, Dean, Tracy and Lisa Pitre and Nacy and Keith Guitar.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.
Mary Catherine Goodine
The death of Mary Catherine Goodine on 7 Alexander Street, Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 17, 2002 at the age of 82.
The daughter of the late Alexander A. MacEachern and the late Mary Ann MacEachen, she was born in Canavoy, P.E.I. and was a housewife.
She is survived by a foster daughter, Bonny Arguelles of Campbellton; sons David E.A. Goodine (Judith) of Edmonton, Alberta and Bernard J. Goodine of Mundare, Alberta; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Martin David Goodine.
Funeral services were held from St. Anthony's Chrurch, Glen Levit, on May 20 with Rev. Wesley Wade officiating. Interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemerary, Tide head.
Pallbearers were Romeo Guitard, Elwin Sherrard, Bob Durette, Jacques Belanger, Buzzi Wood and Wendell Sharp.

Annie Ruth Doody
The death of Annie Ruth Doody, (née Cornwall), born in Hantsport, N.S., on August 27, 1905, occurred peacefully at Glengarry Hospital, Victoria, B.C., on May 17, 2002.
She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Rev. Hubert Doody, who died in 1978.
She is survived by three daughters. Margaret Doody of Indiana, Mary Doody Jones with husband Gerry Howell Jones of Victoria and Freda Bradley in Metro Halifax.
Grandchildren are Eamon Howell Jones in Vancouver, Megan Howell Jones in Ottawa and Jason Bradley in Metro Halifax.
Annie or Anne as she preferred to be called, lived nearly a century and rose to its challenges. She attended high school in Bridgetown, N.S., in 1929. During the depression, she studied at McGill, received her Diploma of Social Work and became District Secretary of Rosemount, Montreal. There she married Hubert Doody in 1935. Some of her husband's earlier parishes included Fort Smith, MWT. St George and St. Martin's, N.B. The couple moved to the U.S. in 1946 in Monticello and Mechanicville, NY, and Detroit, MI. The next Canadian parishes Centreville and Dalhousie, N.B., followed by Galiano and Mayne Islands, BC. During retirement spent in Victoria, Annie served in the Anglican Church Women and founded the prayer group of Christ Church Cathedral. On August 17, 2001 she was hospitalized for a bad stroke.
The funeral service was held on May 24 at Christ Church Cathedral, followed by cremation. Donations to the heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
Bradley Martin Ross
The death of Bradley Martin Ross of 49 Victoria Street, Campbellton, occurred at the AV Cell mill in Atholville on May 10, 2002, at the age of 27.
Born in Miramichi on December 29, 1974, he was the son of Daryl Ross and Thelma Martin. He had worked as a labourer at AV Cell for three years and was a talented artist, avid fisher and loving and devoted artist husband and father.
He is survived by his wife. Angela (Payne) Ross of Campbellton; his parents, Thelma (Martin) Ross and Daryl Ross, both of Campbellton; his son, Tanner Collin Ross of Campbellton; his sister, Darla Ross of Campbellton; his brother, Brent Ross of Toronto; his grandmother, Olive Ross and his aunt, Joyce (Ross) Carter.
Funeral services were held from St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Campbellton, on May 13 with Father Bill Arsenault officiating. Interment in the St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Christ Payne, Marc Poirier, Barry Ross, Mike Laviolette, Douglas Firlotte and Randy Carter.
Honourary pall bearers were Clint Craswell, Billy Doucette, Rod Belliveau, Trent Martin, Rick Noble and Tom McBrearty.

Sharon Ramona Gregoire-Steiner
The death of Sharon Ramona Gregoire-Steiner of 226-A Restigouche Drive, Tide Head, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 14, 2002, at the age of 47.
Born in Campbellton on May 5, 1955, she was the daughter of burns Gregoire and Francis Tozer and had worked as a secretary at the Royal Bank and at a doctor's office. She was a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the united Church Women and the Lioness club. She enjoyed nature, especially the river.
She is survived by her friend, Glenn Charlong of Campbellton; her mother, Frances Tozer-Gregoire of Tide Head; her daughter, Erin Steiner of Fredericton; her sister, Sandra Ruth Thompson of Flatlands; her brother, Eldon Gregoire of Nackawic, her nieces, Karen Harquail and Colleen Gregoire, and her nephews, Shawn Gregoire, Curtis Gregoire and Brent and James Thompson.
She was predeceased by her father, Burns Gregoire, and a niece, Shelly Dawn Gregoire.
Funeral services were held on May 17 from First United Church, Campbellton with Rev. Ray Kraglund officiating. Interment in the Kempt Road Cemetery, Quebec.
Honourary pallbearers were Elaine MacRae, Brenda Murray. Sue Falle, Cathy Charlong, Willa Mann, Karen Harquail, Donna Jean Wysote, Wendy Ahier, Betty Cooling, Barb Irvine, Cathy Dickson, Colleen Gregoire and Debra Taylor.

Benoit Allain
The death of Benoit Allain of 212 BLVD. Perron, Escuminac, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 13, 2002, at the age of 83.
Born in Balmoral on January 19, 1919, he was the son of the late John Allain and the late Rose Anna Landry and was a retired taxi and bus driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, other outdoor activities, making mechanical repairs, gardening and cooking and loved animals. He served in the United Kinfdon and continental Europe during World War II, receiving the 1939-1945 Star, France-Germany Star, Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Star and Clasp.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Girard-Allain; his daughters, Jane (Keith) of N.S., Muriel (Terry) of Vancouver, Mabel (Jack) of Ontario, Sherley (Jackie) of Campbellton, Lucy (Emery) of Ontario, Julie (Berry) of Ontario; his sons, Fred (Johanne) of Quebec, Hermini (Jeannette) of Campbellton, and Leopold of Dalhousie; by his sisters, Hazel of Maine, Beatrice (Marcel) of Kedgwick, Aline (the late Emile Lejeune) of Seven Islands, and Gene (Bertin) of St. Quentin; his brothers, Yvon "Coon" (Viola) of Seven Islands, Hubert (Rena) of Montreal, Edward (Pit) of Seven Islands, and Gerald "Jackie" (Peggy) of Seven Islands; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Rosa Anna; two brothers, Raymond (Dorothy) and Gordon (Agnes) and one son, Charles.
