Laura Carrier

The death of Laura Carrier of Lorne occurred Thursday, May 30, at the age of 89.

Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of Patrick and Lucy (LaPointe).

She is survived by her daughter, Opal Carrier of Lorne and a sister, Emma Lavigne.

Her funeral service was held at St. Marie Loretti Church, Lorne, on Friday, May 31, with burial in the parish cemetery. Fr. Comeau officiated.

Pallbearers were Leonard Carrier, Laurent Carrier, Angus Carrier, Bert Lavingne, Alphie Lavigne and Lonnie Murphy.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.

Lilian M. Troy

A memorial mass for the late Mrs. Lilian M. Troy, widow of Judge Thomas Troy, formerly of Campbellton, was celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Friday, may 31.

Her son, the Most Reverend J. Edward Troy, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Saint John officiated.

The Troys had lived on Stanley street, Campbellton. Mrs. Troy was active in the church and in community and social life in the city.

After leaving Campbellton, she lived with her son at the Bishop's Residents in Saint John for many years. She then moved to the Rocmaura Nursing Home. Saint John, until her death at 101.

Following Friday's mass, she family plot in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.

Gerard Arseneault

The death of Gerard Arseneault of Bathurst and formerly of Queen St.. Dalhousie, occurred in Bathurst on June 2. He was 80.

Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Levis and Sylvia (Blacquiere) Arseneault and had been a paper finisher at the NBIP mill prior to retiring.

He is survived by two sisters. Sandra Arseneault of Bathurst and Carol Anne Miller (Peter) of Fredericton and two granddaughters. Janet, Janice and a grandson, Ashley.

Also surviving is a sister. Jear Corbeil of St. Lambert, P.Q.

He was predeceased by his wife. Theresa Annie Esligar and son Wendell

The funeral will be held from St. John Bosco Church, Dalhousie, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.E.Chamberlain officiating.

Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Paully Guitard

The death of Paully Guitard of Jacquet River occurred on Wednesday, May 29 at the age of 81.

Born in Jacquet River, he was the son of Alma (Guitard). He served in World War II and was a lifetime member of Legion branch 77 Durham and served many years on the financial committee for St. Gabriel's parish council.

He is survived by his wife. Mary (Doucet); three sons, Frank (Cathy) of Jacquet River, Larry (Karen) of Fredericton and Jimmy (Lisa) of Jacquet River; three daughters, Parsy Talbot (Nelson) of Jacquet River, Suisie MacDougall (Gordon) of Belledune and Alma Roberts (Jeff) of McAdam; 13 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and 10 godchildren.

His funeral service was held at St. Gabriel's Church. Jacquet River, on June 1 with Father William Arseneault officiating, followed by burial in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Keith Guitard, Jeff Guitard, Ryan MacDougall, Jimmy Talbot, Scott Guitard and Joshua Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were Austin Doucett, John Doucet. Gordon Carmichael, Gordon Archibald, Raymond Gauthier, Hubert Donnelly, Claude Moriarity, Todd Furlotte, Sanford Talbot and Edward Legacy.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.

Marie Blanche LeBlanc

The death of Marie Blanche LeBlanc of Richardsville occurred on May 28, 2002, at the Campbellton Nursing Home at hte age of 98.

Born in Val D'Amour on January 18, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Narcisse Theriault and the late Emelina Parent. She was a housewife and enjoyed playing cards, knitting and crocheting. She was also a seamstress and liked to sing.

She is survived by her daughters. Geraldine (Beaudet) Landry (Edmond) and Rhea LeBlanc Beck (George); her grandchildren, Marie Anne Boudreau, Jean Piere Landry, Helene Gallant, Rhea Bujold, Roseline Landry, Donald Landry, Connie Gaudet, Graig Beck and Kevin Beck; and by 13 great-grandchildren.

She was the last surviving member of a family of ten children.

Funeral services were held from May Queen Church, Richardsville, on May 30 with Father Morrison officiating, Interment in the McLeods Cemetery.

The pallbearers were her great-grandchildren, Guy and Marc Landry, Remi Bujold, Eric Gallant, Veronic Levesque and Philippe Bujold.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Cyriaque Savoie

The death of Cyriaque Savoie of 222 Notre Dame Street, Atholville, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 29, 2002, at the age of 73.

Born in Atholville on April 17, 1929, he was the son of Antoine and Alice Savoie and had worked as a papermaker for 39 years at the Fraser mill.

He is survived by his sisters, Simonne (John) Pacasar of Laval, Quebec, Geraldine (Murray) Arpin of Atholville, Alexandrine (John) Levesque of Chelmsford, Ontario, and Claire (Jacques) Boudreau of Atholville: his brothers, Donald (Annette) Savoie of Toronto; and by several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Rita (Greg) McDavid of Ontario and a brother, Romeo (Jean) Savoie of Ontario.

Funeral services were held from Maher's Funeral Chapel, Campbellton, on June 1 with Father Morrison officiating. Interment in Tide Head.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Israel Mallaley

The death of Israel Mallaley of Lorne occurred at St, Joseph Hospital, Dalhousie, on May 26, 2002.

Born on June 8, 1936, he was the son of the late Thomas T. Mallaley and Mary Furlong.

He is survived by his wife, Alfreda (O'Brien_ Mallaley and children: Adam (Cindy) of Pettawawa, Ontario, James (Mindy) of Jacquet River, Parsy (Randolph) of Nash Creek, Dean (Tanya) of Moncton, Darlene (Norman) of Belledune and Tammy (Eric) of Beresford. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, four brothers (Walter, Stanley, Leonard and Gordon) and two sisters (Annette and Marina).

His funeral was held on May 29 from St. Marie Goretti Church, Lorne, officiated by Father Benoit with burial in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were his three daughters; Patsy Darlene and Tammy and his three sons; Adam, James and Dean.

Honorary pallbearers were his four brothers.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.
