Christine (Tina) Allain

The death of Christine (Tina) Allain, wife of the late Edrick Allain, occurred Sunday, October 23, 2005, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 86.

Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late James Connacher and Frances Ingram and the last of the Connacher clan in New Brunswick.

Christine was an employee of Aube Jewellers for 25 years, she was also a volunteer at the Dalhousie Thrift Shop and enjoyed curling and skiing. She is survived by her son: Bruce (Denise) of Saint Tite, Quebec, and daughter Gail Savoie (Patrick) of Dalhousie, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Edrick, son David, daughter Donna, brothers Stewart, Nathaniel, Hughie, Murray, as well as sisters Marjorie, Jean and grandson Peter David Savoie.

Her funeral service was held from Saint John Presbyterian Church, Dalhousie, on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, officiated by Rev. Cal MacInnis. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.

Daniel Ross Jones

Family and friends were saddened by the death of Daniel Ross Jones of Mann's Mountain, N.B., which occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on October 1, 2005, at the age of 60, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Campbellton on September 18, 1945, he was the son of the late Leonard Jones and Hope (Mann) Farrer of Upsalquitch. Danny worked for the Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator for thirty two years. He was a great husband and a very loving father, as his family always came first. His quiet nature made him a good listener and always had the right advice to those in need. Danny enjoyed sports and outdoor activities. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving is his wife Nancy (Murray) Jones of Mann's Mountain, sons Troy (Tanya) and Trent Jones of Moncton, N.B., daughter Heidi Jones of Calgary, A.B., his mother Hope (Mann) Farrer of Upsalquitch, sisters Bonnie Jones of Dalhousie, Kathy (Wayne) Borden of Robinsonville, brother Todd Farrer of Sqaw Cap, several nieces and nephews and his very special aunties. He was predeceased by his father Leonard of Toronto in 1985.

The largely attended funeral was held from Savoie Funeral Chapel on October 5, 2005, officiated by Reverend Andrew C. Fraser, Reverend Raymond Kraglund, organist Ruth Nicol, eulogy read by Troy Jones, scripture reading by Bonnie Jones, duet Nicholas and Betty Murray, with interment in the Dawsonville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John R. Ryan, Ricky MacDougall, Todd Farrer, Ken Murray, Ron Thibodeau and Nicholas Murray. Honourary pallbearers were Jean Ryan, Alberta Harris, Myrea Firth, Shirley MacDougall, Bonnie Jones, Kathy Borden, Jeannie Crossman, Dale Ryan, Richard Adams, Dale Firth, Scotty Murray and Wayne Borden.

Funeral arrangements were placed in the professional care of Savoie Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Dorothy Porter

In loving memory of Dorothy Porter who passed away at Hornepayne Community Hospital at the age of 94.

She leaves to mourn 2 daughters Bernetta Haley of Red Rock, Ontario and Ethel Haley of Lively, Ontario, and 1 son Everett Porter of Campbellton, N.B.

Predeceased by her husband William and 2 daughters Sharon and Willa and son Bill.

Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Campbellton, N.B. in the family plot.

Geraldine LaPointe

The death of Geraldine LaPointe occurred October 28, 2005, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 48.

Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of the late Aurele LaPointe and the late Mathilda Hickey. She is survived by her son: Elliot of Lorne, daughter Beanca Mallaley of Lorne, brothers Norman of Fredericton, Roger of Bathurst, Clarence of Lorne, and sisters Linda Hickey of Doyleville, Shirley LaPointe of Lorne, Lorraine LaPointe of Doyleville, Wanda Lapointe of Lorne, Jacqueline O'Shannessy of Ontario, and Ernestine F. LaPointe of Jacquet River.

She was predeceased by her mother and father, her brothers Leonard, Gerald, and John.

Her funeral was held October 31, 2005, from St. Maria Goretti Church in Lorne, officiated by Father David Ferguson, with burial in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ernestine F. LaPointe, Elliot Mallaley, Roger LaPointe, Norman LaPointe, Earl Hickey and Leon Hickey.

Jean-Guy Tremblay

The death of Jean-Guy Tremblay of 193 St. Louis Street in Atholville, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on October 22, 2005, at the age of 60.

Born in Campbellton on June 3, 1945, he was the son of the late Fernand Tremblay and Blondine Boudreau.

Surviving is his mother Blondine (Boudreau) Tremblay, sisters Suzanne (Roger) Lanteigne of Atholville and Pauline Chamberlain of Atholville, brothers Paul of Broadlands, Quebec and Roland of Charlo. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews Kim, Rachel, Sonia, France, David, Sheila, Patty and Mallinda. Predeceasing him was his father Fernand Tremblay and his sister Jeanne Sivret.

The funeral was held from Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Atholville on October 26, 2005, officiated by Father Romeo Morrison. Pallbearers were Paul Tremblay, Roland Tremblay, David Savoie and Roger Lanteigne.

Lucien Roy

The death of Lucien Roy of Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on October 29, 2005, at the age of 81.

Born in Whites Brook, N.B., he was the son of the late Ulric Roy and the late Dianna Lajoie. Lucien worked for C.N.R.

Surviving is his wife Eveline Bourdage Roy of Campbellton, daughters Paulette Levesque of St. Jacques, N.B., Marie-Jeanne Coupland of British Columbia, Irene Comeau of Campbellton, Doreen Robichaud of Cross Point, Q.C. and Yvette Roy of Charlo, sons Roger, Maurice and Reginald all of Campbellton, N.B., sister-in-law Helene Roy of Campbellton. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, as well several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held from St. Thomas Aquinas Church on November 1, 2005, officiated by Rev. William Arseneau, with interment in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Marius Heppell

Heppell, Marius (92) - Passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 23, 2005, with his loving wife at his side.

It is with great sadness that his family says goodbye. Marius is survived by his wife, Priscilla (Mann) and his two daughters, Lynn (Tom) Cavanagh, Miami Lakes, Florida and Patti (Bruce) Wilson, Bedford Nova Scotia. He had 5 grandchildren, Carrie Schoultz, Rocklin, California, Kelly O'Brien, Los Angeles, California, Kris O'Brien, Orlando, Florida, Jacob and Lucas Wilson, Bedford, Nova Scotia; and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 sisters - Marthe, Claire and Margot all from St-Lambert, Quebec. He was predeceased by his brother, George and 3 sisters, Marie-Ange, Louisette and Jeanette.

Marius worked as a CNR Conductor and was greatly respected by his colleagues and friends. He was always quick to help out his family, friends and neighbours. The funeral was held from St. Thomas Aquinas Church on October 27, 2005, officiated by Father Bill Arsenault, with interment in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom Cavanagh, Bruce Wilson, Reg Murphy, Willis Murphy, Sean Murphy, and Dave Targett. Honourary pallbearers were Doc Berthelot, Doug MacIntosh, Ralph Munroe, Basil Kain, Beverly Kain and Frank Brooks.

Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Mary Grace Thompson LeBlanc

The death of Mary Grace Thompson LeBlanc, resident of the Village Nursing Home, occurred at the nursing home on October 23, 2005, at the age of 89.

Born in Atholville on February 22, 1916, she was the daughter of the late David Thompson and the late Isabella Firth. Mary loved to play bingo and cards.

Surviving is her husband Fabien George LeBlanc, resident of the Veteran's Ward of the Campbellton Regional Hospital, sisters Pat Murray of Glencoe, N.B., Corinne (Steve) Hrenyk of Waterdown, Ont., Joan Watt of Beetan, Ont., Colleen Gallie of Toronto, Ont., brothers George Thompson of Toronto, Ont., Leo (Shinex) Thompson of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

Predeceasing her was her first husband Bill Chesser, 11 brothers and 2 sisters.

The funeral service was held from St. Thomas Aquinas Church on October 26, 2005, officiated by Father Bill Arsenault, with interment in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Murray, Therese Murray, Betty Firth, Albert Cleveland, Donna Thompson and Diane Cleveland. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Yolande DeRoche

The death of Yolande DeRoche of Petit Rocher, N.B., occurred in Bathurst on October 19, 2005, at the age of 79.

Born in Chicoutimi, Q.C., on March 11, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ludger LeBlanc and the late Alida Savoie.

Surviving are her sons Luc DeRoche (Jeannie) of Petit Rocher and Claude (Anita) DeRoche of Petit Rocher, sisters Aliette (Marcel) Bois of Thunder Bay, Marie Paule (Robert) Paquet of Campbellton, Flora (Frank) Bois of Dundee and Isabelle (Lucien-Bob) Caron of Vaudreuil, Q.C., and her brother Leon Leblanc of Dundee. Also surviving are grandchildren Helene DeRoche (Claude), Genevieve (Luc), Robert (Claude), Daniel (Murielle), Marcelle (Luc), as well as several nieces and nephews.

Predeceasing her was her husband Arthur DeRoche and her daughter Murielle DeRoche-Gagnon.

The funeral was held from Notre Dame des Neiges Church in Campbellton on October 21, 2005, officiated by Father Romeo Morrison. Pallbearers were Robert DeRoche, Genevieve DeRoche, Marcelle DeRoche, Daniel DeRoche-Gagnon. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
