Doug Smith

Doug Smith, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 26, 2006. Doug loved his grandchildren, Dylan, Julia, and Shelby; his children, Brenda, Brian, and Sandra; but most especially, his wife of 45 years, Irene.

Doug was a dedicated family man. He was kind, caring, and trustworthy. He believed in justice and fairness. Doug loved to play cards, travel, dance, spend time in the woods, read. Doug also loved to weave stories and people were often overheard asking his wife: "Is it true, Irene?" Doug was a jack-of-all-trades and was always looking to his next project. If something needed fixing, Doug would find a way to fix it. If something needed to be done, Doug would do it. While working on fix-it projects, caulking and duct tape were his close companions along with his "friendly persuader"... the sledgehammer.

His family will desperately miss his laughter, his smile, and his loving attention. God may have called him home, but he will always remain in our hearts and minds.
