G.K.(Bud) McRae

The burial service of G.K. (Bud) McRae, husband of Joan and father of Carolyn and Paul was held on June 13 at the Campbellton Rural Cemetery.

Bud was born in Campbellton, the son of Pauline and Fred McRae, brother of Jack (Helen) and Mary Jane. He was predeceased by brothers Bill (Ila) and David and David's wife Joanne.

Rev. Dr. MacDonald officiated and many of the family and friends were at the ceremony and shared some special memories.

Edgar Drapeau

The death of Edgar Drapeau of Balmoral occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital On June 17, 2002, at the age of 77.

Born in Balmoral on May 31, 1925, son of the late Isodore Drapeau and the late Malvine Landry. Survived by his wife Margot Bernard Drapeau, daughters Nathalie of Moncton, Elyse of Balmoral. His sisters: Rina Bernard, Zelia Savoie, Dora (Armand) Savoie all of Balmoral, Lucille, Yvette (Ted) Mainville of Montreal.

He is also survived by three brothers, Laurent (Janine) Drapeau of Balmoral, Georges (Rollande) Drapeau of Welland, Ontario and Rec. Benoit Drapeau c.j.m. of Seneca NY.

Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gonzague, Alphe Vernard, Rheal (Simone) Bernard, Guy (Raymonde) Bernard, Laureat (Rosalie) Bernard, Gilbert (Murielle) Bernard, Laurette (Napoleon), Annette (Albert), France (Bruno), Gilberte, Odelie, Adelina.

Predeceased by one son Michel, one daughter Lisa and two brothers, Emery and Willie.

The funeral was held June 21 at 4 o'clock in St.Benoit Church, Balmoral.

William Alexandre Jamieson

The death of William Alexander Jamieson of 89 Lansdowne Street, Campbellton, Widower of Grace (Fenwick) Jamieson, occurred at Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at the age of 90.

Born in Campbellton, he was the son of David Jamieson and Lillian (Ferguson).

Retired after 48 years for the CNR, Bill was church treasurer for 27 years and for a great number of years a member of the board of Management, as well carious other church committees. He was an active member of the church's Board of Deacons for the past sixty (60) years. He was also past member of the Soldier's Memorial Hospital Board, and a member of the Soldier's Memorial Villa Board of Directors.

He was survived by his two daughters Eleanor (Herb) Mann of Miramichi and Donna (Lyle) Whitty of Campbellton. Also surviving, three sisters, Daisy Goudreau (Fredericton), Marion Crozier and Reta Matheson (Ottawa), four grand children Krista (Paul) Holleran, Karla (Troy) MacPhee, Jonathan and Justion Whitty and three great grand children Joshua and Jordan MacPhee, Liam Holleran.

He was predeceased by his sister Grace Harper, and his three brothers Harold, David (Bud) and James (Jim).

The funeral was held from First Baptist Church, Campbellton on June 13 with Rev. Doug Phillips officiating and assisted by Rev. Byron Fenwick. Harold Willbur was the organist. Soloist Jerry Woodworth sang Life's Railroad to Heaven. The congregational hymn was at Calvary.

Interment was at the Campbellton Rural Cemetery. Pallbearers were Herb Mann, Troy MacPhee, Lyle Whitty, Paul Holleran, Jonathan and Justin Whitty.

Honourary pallbearers were Howard Price, Alfie Vienneau, Joe Coughlan, Donald Hume, Jim Woodworth, Frank Brooks, Bob McLellan, John McLeod and Hal Murray.

Funeral arrangements were in care of Maher's Funeral Homes, Campbellton. .

Hazel Christina Law

The death of Hazel Christina Law of the Village Nursing Home formerly of Flatlands, occurred on Sunday, June 23, 2002, at Campbellton Regional Hospital. She was 85. Born in GlenLevit March 20, 1917, she was the daughter of Levi Adams and Elisabeth Hennigar. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, GlenLevit.

She is survived by her granddaughter Bonnie Coffin (Ronald), two grandsons, John Law (Pam) and Kevin Law (Patsy), three great grand children, Andrew Coffin, Thomas Law and Jessica Law. She is also survived by two sisters, Lilian Froud of Montreal, Eleanor Firth of Sussex, NB and one brother George Adams of GlenLevit, NB. She was predeceased by her husband Marden Law and her son Allan (Buddy) Law.

The funeral was held on Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at St.Anthony's Church, GlenLevit, officiated by Father Wilfred Benoit. Interment was at St. Anthony's Cemetery, GlenLivit.

Pallbearers were Barry Irvine, Earl Hennessy, Curtis Adams, Kemp Glidden, Kevin McNaughton, Whitney Betteridge. Funeral arrangements in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Honourary pallbearers were Robert Betteridge, Scotty Firth, Charles Gillis, James Glidden, Gary Adams , Reginald Law, Aubrey Firth, Royce Mann, Wayne Mann, Don Irvine, Edward Irvine, Garth Fitzgerald, Don Harris, Denzie Craswell, William Beteridge, Bonar Law and Larry Adams.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Evangeline Frenette

The death of Evangeline Frenette of 1152, rte. 134, Petit Rocher, formerly of Dalhousie, widow of Albany Frenette, occurred in her hoe on June 17, 2002. She was 96.

Born on March 29, 1906, she was the daughter of Joseph Valdron.

She is survived by her daughter Peggy Gallant (Richard) of Atholville and a son Ward Frenette of Petit Rocher. Also surviving a grand-daughter Rachel Dobbins (Bernard) of Petit Rocher, two sisters Mary McCafferey of Kingston , Ont., Edith Harm of Moncton, two brothers Melvin Valdron of Petit Rocher and Austin Valdron of Dalhousie, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-grand-son, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held from St. John the Baptist Church, Dalhousie on June 19, 2002, with Rev. Yvon Doiron officiating.

Interment was in the parish cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home Dalhousie.

Noella Harris

The death of Noella Harris of Dalhousie, wife of the late Vaughan Harris occurred at her home on Wednesday, June 19, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. The daughter of the late Hector Roy and Genevieve Grant, she is survived by her daughter Karen (Doug) Marshall of London, Ont. and one son Brian Harris of London, Ont.

She is also survived by two brothers, Tony of Antigonish, NS, and Lionel of Jacquet River, NB, four sisters Violet of Dalhousie, Marcella of Omemee, Ont, Hecterine of Montreal, Qc, and Valerie of PointeVerte, NB, two grandchildren, David and Jennifer.

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers Lorenzo and Germain and three sisters Rose-Marie, Ann-Marie and Janet.

The funeral service was held from St.John The Evangelist Church, Belledune on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at 11 am with burial in St.Gabriels Cemetery, Jacquet River.

Corinne Pitre Parker

The death of Corinne Pitre Parker of 14 Blais Street, Cross Point, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 15, 2002.

Born in Campbellton, April 23, 1938 she was the daughter of Laurent Pitre and Augustine Martin.

She is survived by her daughter Joyce (Gilles) Parker of Atholville, her sons John (Karen) Parker of Richardsville and Kevin (Doris) Parker of Moncton.

She is also survived by her sisters Lorraine (Roland) Dube of Rouyn-Noranda, Leona (Pierre) Roy of St-Jean sur la Richelieu, Gilberte Rivard of Rouyn-Noranda; her brothers Lucien Pitre of Rouyn-Noranada, Leonda (Lucienne) Pitre of Atholville, Gerard (Cecile) Pitre of Miramichi, Raymond (Margot) Pitre of Miramichi.

The funeral was held at St.Thomas Aquinas Churchin Campbellton on June 17, 2002, with Rev.Wesley Wade officiating.

Donald Murray

The death of Donald Murray of 28 Renault St. Campbellton, occurred at Campbellton Regional Hospital on Monday, June 24, 2002. He was born in Campbellton on May 19; 1922, the son of the late Joseph Murray and the late Loretta Furlotte.

He spent five years in the Air Force during the war with an honourable discharge and is a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He worked for many years for the City of Campbellton as a mechanic and also taught mechanics in night classes. Known by many for his kind and gentle manner, he will be greatly missed by his wife and family.

He is survived by his wife Rita Walsh Murray, daughters Linda Murray, Knowles, Bathurst; Susan Murray, Dartmouth, NS; Brenda Murray, Campbellton; son Allan (Angela) Murray Edmonton Alta; grandchildren Sheryl, Erin, Shannon, Holly Knowles, Kairlyn Murray, Ryan, Cole Murray. Also many nieces and nephews.

The funeral mass was held at St.Thomas Aquinas Church Campbellton, on Thursday, June 27, 2002/ Interment in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Funeral arrangements in care of Maher's Funeral Home Campbellton.

Honorary pallbearers were James Davis, Elden Steeves, Ambrose Whalen, Everett MacKinnon, William Bulmer, Archie Babcock, Robert Parlee, Kenneth Connors, Harold Casey, Ralph Mann, Murphy Felix, Graham Vincent, Herman MacDonald, Allie Mackenzie, Gordon Ullock, Dr. Robert Gillis, John MacDonald, Adrien Brown, James Woods, Gerry Duguay, William Lee, Luke Casey and Wally Poley.

Lisa Glendenning

The sudden tragic death of Lisa Glendenning, 13, occurred at Bathurst Regional Hospital Centre on Friday May 17, 2002, two days before her 14th birthday, as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She was on her roller-blades on the Big River Road when struck by a pick-up truck.

Born May 19, 1988, she was the only daughter of Bruce and Mona (Godin) Glendenning of Big River, near Bathurst. She was a Grade 8 student at Place des Jeunes School. She was a member of the Bathurst Figure Skating Club. In addition to playing softball for her school, she also played soccer and enjoyed roller-blading.

School Principal Michel Albert said: "She was a model student. She was joyful and respected and appreciated throughout the school". Teachers and fellow-students described her as a "brilliant student and excellent athlete".

Besides her parents, she is survived by one brother, Jeff, at home; paternal grandmother Dora (Smearer) Glendenning, originally from Jacquet River; her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Rose Godin, all of Bathurst; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home in Bathurst on Sunday. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, May 20th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with Very Rev.T. Gregory Culligan, Rector of Sacred Heart Cathedral Bathurst, as main celebrant. Father Culligan was assisted by Rev. Edmond Theriault, Pastor of Holy Rosary and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parishes in Bathurst as concelebrant.

Interment took place in Bathurst.

Relatives attending from Restigouche County included Catherine Brimsacle, Orin R.M. Brimsacle, Donald F. and Marlene Brimsacle, all of Charlo Florence Adams, Heather Grant, Scott, Kyle and Kealty Grant of Tide Head, Leslie Grant of Tide Head and Fredericton, as well as Myrna MacIntosh and Jean Smearer of Belldune.

Frank L. Caldwell

The death of Frank L. Caldwell of 45 Arran St. Campbellton, occurred at Campbellton Regional Hospital on Monday, June 17, 2002.

Born in Nova Scotia on April 9, 1919, he was the son of the late Pryor Caldwell and Mabel Patton and had been a City Clerk for the city of Campbellton. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Elise Hubert Caldwell and his brother William (Bill) Cadwell of Fredericton.

The funeral was held from Christ Anglican Church, Campbellton, on Friday, June 21, 2002, Rev. William Morton officiating.

Pallbearers were Owen Firth, Ralph Bain, James Targett, Boyd Poley, Donald Munroe, Brian Firth.

Honorary pallbearers were James Davis, Elden Steeves, Ambrose Whalen, Everette MacKinnon, William Bulmer, Archie Babcock, Robert Parlee, Kenneth Connors, Harold Casey, Ralph Mann, Murphy Felix, Graham Vincent, Herman MacDonald, Allie MacKenzie, Gordon Ullock, Dr.Robert Gillis, John MacDonald, Adrien Brown, James Woods, Gerry Duguay, William Lee, Luke Casey, Wally Poley.

Interment was at Campbellton Rural Cemetery.
