Dorothy Margaret Stephenson
The death of Dorothy Margaret Stephenson of Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on November 18, 2005, at the age of 68.
Born in Dalhousie, N.B., on January 10, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Peter Savoy and the late Florine Valdron. Dorothy was a Sergeant in the Canadian Air Force.
Surviving is her husband Clarence Stephenson, her sister Vivian Barthe of Dalhousie, her brother Murray Savoy of Dalhousie. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing her was her brothers Richard, Willard, Howard, Wallace and Gerald.
The funeral will be held from Maher's Funeral Chapel in Campbellton on November 24, 2005, officiated by Father Bill Arseneau, with interment in St. John Baptist Cemetery in Dalhousie. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Gerald Roland Benoit
Local business man mourned
The death of Gerald Roland Benoit, resident of 40 Water Street, Campbellton, occurred at 150 Water Street in Campbellton on November 10, 2005, at the age of 72.
Born in Sherbrooke, QC, he was the son of the late Leopold Benoit and the late Gertrude Fortier. Gerald was a well-known businessman having owned and operated Beau Brummell Clothing Store since 1985.
Surviving is his wife Marielle Essiembre Benoit, Liza (Jean-Claude) Benoit of Sherbrook, QC, his sisters Rolande Benoit, Gilberte (Leonard Girard) Benoit, Micheline Benoit, Claudette (Jacques) Benoit all of Sherbrooke, QC, his brothers Claude (Marie) Benoit of Montreal and André Benoit of Sherbrooke, QC. Also surviving is one grandson Mikaël, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Laura Alexandra Harquail
The death of Laura Alexandra Harquail of Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on November 19, 2005, at the age of 94.
Born in Matapedia, Que., on June 5, 1911, she was the daughter of the late James Delaney and the late Christina Ryan. Laura was a lifetime member of the CWL and past president of the V.O.N.
Surviving are her daughters Jean-Ellen Guy of Baie-Comeau, Que., Joan (John) Meehan of Nesconset, New York, and Pamela A.C. Harquail of Nashville, Tennessee, sons Bernard (Barbara) Harquail of Verner, Ont., and Maurice (Elaine) Harquail of Gagetown, NB, sister-in-law Anysie Delaney of Matapedia, Que. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing her was her husband O. Paul Harquail, three brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be received on Wednesday, November 23, 2005, from 9:30 until time of funeral. The funeral service will be held from St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Campbellton at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Father Bill Arseneau, with interment to follow in the St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Campbellton. Pallbearers will be Michael Meehan, James P. Meehan, Laura McIntosh, Paul Harquail, Lori Hughes Daniels, Gregory Harquail, David Harquail, John Harquail and Major John K. Meehan. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Marie Jeanne Bernard
The death of Marie Jeanne Bernard of Balmoral, N.B., occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on November 17, 2005, at the age of 60.
Born in Dalhousie, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Paradis Sr. and Elise Levesque. She was retired from the housekeeping department of the Dalhousie Hospital.
Surviving is her husband Guy Bernard of Balmoral, mother-in-law Annie Bernard of Dalhousie, brothers Arthur (Yvette) Paradis Jr. of Eel River Crossing, Jules (Jeannine) Paradis of Dalhousie, Mathias (Alma) Paradis of Dalhousie, Levi (Alvina) Paradis of Dalhousie, and Claude (Aline) Paradis of Dalhousie. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing her was her brother Maurice and her sister Marie-Ange.
The funeral was held from St. Benoit Church in Balmoral on November 19, 2005, officiated by Rev. Leo Lanteigne, with interment in the St. Benoit Cemetery. Pallbearers were Denis Cayouette, Claude Paradis, Jean-Claude Paradis, Marc Cayouette, Mathias Paradis and Marc Paradis. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
Paul H. Gallant
The death of Paul H. Gallant of Dalhosuie, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on November 16, 2005, at the age of 71.
Born in Dalhousie on October 18, 1934, he was the son of the late Henry Gallant and the late Alphonsine Arseneault. Paul was a retired paper finisher.
Surviving is his wife Alva Gallant, son Daniel Gallant of Balmoral, sisters Corine MacFarlane of Pakenham, ON, Rita Angelhart of Campbellton, Tony Bergeron of Montreal, and her brother Leo Gallant of Petit-Rocher. Also surviving are two granddaughters Karine and Veronique, as well several nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing her was her sister Patricia Gallant.
The funeral was held from St. John Baptist Church in Dalhousie on November 18, 2005, officiated by Father Yvon Doiron, with interment in St. John Baptist Cemetery in Dalhousie. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
