Dr. Jean Laurin
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on November 29, 2006, Dr. Jean Laurin, husband of Denise Caron of McLeod. Born in Hull, QC on December 30, 1953, he was the son of Fernand Laurin and Berthe Mailloux. Dr. Laurin was an optometrist in the Campbellton area.
He leaves to mourn his wife Denise Caron, his parents, one sister Johanne Laurin (Michel Callaghan) Montreal, one brother André Laurin (Nicole Hébert) Mont Laurier QC, his mother-in-law Mrs. Gemma Caron of Campbellton, sisters-in-law Michèle Caron (Noella Richard), Hélène Caron, brothers-in-law Daniel Caron, Louis Caron (Claire Levesque), several nephews and nieces.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home Campbellton.

Ivan Lewis Brophy
The death of Ivan Lewis Brophy of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Marion Mary (LaPointe) Brophy occurred on Wednesday, December 06, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on February 10th, 1950 in Dalhousie, NB, he was the son of Barbara E. (Hickey) Brophy and the late John L. Brophy. Recently, Ivan was honored with his 35 years of service with the Department of Health, Province of NB. He was an avid Hockey Player, presently with the RCAF Seniors Props and had a passion for playing the guitar.
Ivan was survived by his mother, Barbara E. (Hickey) Brophy, his children, Michael Brophy (Christine Thomas) of Fredericton and Sharon Brophy (Clinton Pendleton) of Fredericton; two sisters, Barbara Ann (Albert) Bennett of Dalhousie and Susan (Fernand) LeBlanc of Fredericton; four brothers, Gene (Nancy) of Calgary, David (Monique) of Sarnia, ON., Mike (Diane) of Cornwall, ON., and John (Janice) of Edmonton, AB; sister-in-law, Mary Brophy of Hinton, AB; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and father, he was predeceased by one brother, Patrick Brophy.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 9th, 2006 at 2 pm from the St. Anthony's Church, Union St., Fredericton, NB with Rev. Monte Peters as the Celebrant. Ivan will be buried beside his wife in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery in Nashcreek, NB. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Jeannette (Clements) Williams
July 18/1945 - Nov.26/2006
Mrs. Jeannette (Clements) Williams 61 of Eel River Crossing, Passed away at her home November 26/2006. After a short battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of Edna Page (Williams) and the late Lawrence Williams.
She is survived by her mother Edna Page (Williams) of Dalhousie and her husband Robert Clements of Eel River Crossing, 2 Daughters Bonnie ( Allen Pictou) Eel River Bar, Joanne (Jimmy Maltais) Eel River Crossing, One Son Robert Micheal Clements of Dalhousie, 5 Grand-children Andre, Daniel, Francois, Nadia, Vanessa and several nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her 2 Sisters, Yvette Drapeau, Annette ( Raoul LaPointe) and of Eel River Crossing, 3 Brothers, Napoleon (Nap) , Robert (Carla) of Dalhousie and Larry of Tide Head. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St-Trinity Church on November 28 / 2006 by Father Leo Lanteigne officiating, the burial took place on November 29/ 2006 at Eel River Crossing Cemetery . Honorary Pallbearers were Andre Hachey, Daniel Hachey, Francois Maltais, Sylvie Tait, Nicole Lebel and Nathalie Hachey.
Funeral arrangement was in the care of Mahers Funeral Home in Dalhousie.
Jeanne Trecartin
Jeanne Trecartin of Campbellton passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Friday, December 1 at the age of 83. Born in Campbellton on July 24, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Ouellette and the late Laura Phillips.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeannette Trecartin of Campbellton, Rose (Rene) Emond of Point-a-la-Croix, Shirley (Ivon) Emond of Richardsville, Lina Berthelot of Campbellton, and Michelle Trecartin also of Campbellton; her sons, Gerald Trecartin of Toronto, John Trecartin of Montreal, and Roland Trecartin and Michel Trecartin both of Campbellton; her sisters, Anna Savoie of Hillsburg, ON, and Loretta Wilmot of London, ON; her brothers, Francis Girard of Campbellton and John Ouellette also of Campbellton; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 7 nieces and 7 nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Homer in 1993 and 1 daughter Irene in 1966.
Funeral services were held from the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Campbellton, on December 4, 2006 at 11 a.m. with interment in the Parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Ron McCarroll, Ronnie Canuel, Dennis Berthelot, Joe Joe Berthelot, Terry Rose and Marcel Canuel. Arrangements in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Norman Leclair
1919 - 2006
The death of Norman Leclair, age 87, of Charlo occurred at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on Monday December 4th, 2006. Born in Mountain Brook, he was the son of the late Michel Leclair and Eléonore Caissie. Norman was a veteran of World War II serving in the Lévi Regiment. He was a member of the Dalhousie Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 17.
He is survived by his wife Ethel Levesque (Charlo) of 61 years, his children Suzanne (Alvin Carrier) of Eel River Crossing, Rodrigue (Gaëtane Desjardins) Charlo, Monique (Terry Sullivan) Charlo, Marie (Roger Landry) Prince George, BC and seven grandchildren Marc, René, Anna, Charlotte, Roger, Jacynthe, Norman and four great grandchildren Adam, Nathan, Alissa and Terri Lynn. He will also be sadly missed by his two loving sisters Germaine (Jean Poirier) of Massillon, Ohio and Rose de Lima (Aimé LeBlanc) of Montreal. He was predeceased by his six brothers, infant brother John, Eugène (Elizabeth Arseneault), Napoléon (Aurore Joly), Roméo (Antoinette Savoie), Lucien (Lydia Savoie) and Hébert (Marie Bernard) and one sister Gabrielle. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
His remains have been forwarded for cremation under the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton and a summer service will be held in Charlo in 2007.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association of New Brunswick.
Weldon Alexander Clowater
1909-2006
The passing of Weldon Alexander Clowater, formerly of Jacquet River, NB, husband of Barbara (Winton) Clowater, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on December 1, 2006 at the York Manor Nursing Home. Born on April 19, 1909 in Doaktown, NB, he was a son of the late Abel and Carrie (Mitchell) Clowater. Weldon was a wood scaler with Bathurst Power & Paper for 35 years, was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a charter and honourary member of the Jacquet River Lions Club. He enjoyed gardening, trapping, fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
Besides his wife of 66 years, he is survived by two sons, Donald Winston (Kay) of Fredericton and Wayne Weldon (Patricia) of Edmonton, AB; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Stacey (Mark Schmit) and Sarah all of Fredericton, Stephen of Halifax, NS, Chrystyna, Colin and Justin all of Edmonton, AB; one sister, Inez Wood of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Emelie Hubert, Rita Seeley and Clara Stickles and two brothers, Vinta and Oran Clowater.
Visitation took place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, December 3, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with Scriptures and Prayers at 4 pm with Rev. George Feenstra. Weldon returned to the place he always called "home". Visitation took place at MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point, NB on Monday, December 4, 2006 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service took place at Bethel United Church, Nash Creek, NB on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 2 pm with Rev. Donald Fairweather officiating. Interment took place at New Mills United Cemetery. Pallbearers were Allen Winton, David Winton, Arthur Winton, Tommy Pettigrew, Eldon Clowater, and Winston Clowater.
