Alphonsine O'Brien Legace

The death of Alphonsine O'Brien Lagace of Lorne, wife of Hyacinthe Lagace occurred December 10, 2006 at Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 73. Born in Lorne, the daughter of the late James Lavigne & Esther (St.Onge)

She is survived by her husband Hyacinthe, sons Sherman of Lorne, Perry of Lorne, Glen of Lorne, daughters Freda Mallaley of Lorne, Lorraine LaPointe(Raymond Daigle) of Jacquet River, Peggy O'Brien(Daniel Main) of Ontario., 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, sister Hilda O'Brien of Lorne and son-in-law Gerald Hickey.

She was predeceased by husband Norman O'Brien, daughter Laurena, son Coleman, brother Manuel, Albert, Vincent, Gordon, sister Effie Hillard and son-in-law Isreal Mallaley.

Her funeral was held December 13th from St. Maria Goretti Church in Lorne, officiated by Father David Ferguson with burial in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie LaPointe, James Mallaley, James Mallaley Jr, Michael Gray, Perry O'Brien, and Jimmy Hillard.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.

Charline Beaulieu

Passed away at her residence on December 7, 2006 at the age of 60, Mrs. Charline Beaulieu of Campbellton.

She is survived by her ex-husband Jean-Guy Marcoux, her son René Marcoux, her sisters Grace Lemieux, Stella Basque, Annette Beaulieu and Suzanne Cormier, her two brothers Edward Beaulieu and Robert Beaulieu. Predeceased by her father Kingsley Beaulieu and her mother Marie Martin (and her brother Yvon).

The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Lourdes Church, on Monday December 11th at 11am. Father Morrison officiating.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Garfield Gallie

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on November 28th, 2006 at the age of 82, Mr. Garfield Gallie of the Village Nursing Home and formerly of Glencoe.

Mr. Gallie was a veteran of the Second World War who served in Italy and England and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Atholville branch.

He leaves to mourn his wife Ramona Hunter Gallie, his daughters Gilda and Debbie from Campbellton, his son Garth (Diane) Gallie from Glencoe, his brothers Vance (Phyllis), Kenneth (Paula), Ernest (Sheila), Allison (Dawn) and James (Catherine), also 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, also numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father John Gallie, his mother Hilda Dobson, his brothers Gus, Ottis and George, his sisters Edith and Aldena.

The funeral service was held at Maher's funeral chapel, 64 Lansdowne Street Campbellton on November 29th at 2pm. Reverand Gregan officiating. Interment was held at the Glen Levit United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Vance Gallie, Kenneth Gallie, Ernest Gallie, Allison Gallie, Thomas MacDougall and Randy Hunter.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

John Carmel Goode

The death of John Carmel Goode occurred at the CLSC Nursing home in Matapedia, Quebec on November 25, 2006 at the age of 83.

Born in Dublin, Ireland on July 16, 1923, he was the son of the late James Goode and the late Ann Woods.

John left Ireland as a young man and traveled extensively throughout the world as a marine engineer. He eventually took up residence in Canada. There he accepted a position in Quebec City and later Montreal with the Canadian Coat Guard. He progressed to the position of Chief Ship Inspector, Port of Montreal where he remained until his retirement.

He will be sadly missed by wife Helen Bolton Goode, one son John Jr., step-sons George and Whayde, step daughters Roslyn and Charlene, nephew Terry and niece Mary residing in Ireland.

The funeral mass was held from the Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Campbellton, NB at 11 a.m. on November 29 with Father Arsenault conducting the mass.

The eulogy and scripture reading was given by daughter and son-in-law Roslyn and Roland Lortie of Quebec City. Interment was in the Kempt Road Cemetery with committal performed by Rev. Genevieve Trudel. Pallbearers were William Busteed, Roland Lortie, Dr. Michel Fleury, Harvey Gregoire, David Downs and Danny Firlotte. Honourary pallbearers were William Bolton, Donald Downs, Roger Gray, Jackie Gregoire, Lorne Gray and Carl Adams. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton, NB.

Magella Porlier

Passed away at the Regional Hospital in Campbellton, on December 13, 2006 at the age of 72, Mr. Magella Porlier of Campbellton.

He leaves to mourn his wife Monique (Lagacé) Porlier, his daughters Eva (Wayde) McDavid of Campbellton, Line (Rhani) Porlier of Montreal, Carole (Steve) Porlier of Terrebonne, and Manon (Rheal) Porlier-LeBlanc of Bathurst, his sons Luc (Marjolaine) Porlier of Montreal and Simon Sirois of Montreal, his sisters Noella (William) Bujold of Maria and Simone Lagacé (Adrien) from Atholville, his brother Raymond (Jeanine) Porlier of Caplan. Also eight grandchildren Kim, Sabrina, Lila, Shawn, Amina, Jeff, Vincent and Antoni. Predeceased by Charles (Alexina) of Répentigny and Benoit (Loza) Martin.

The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Atholville, Saturday December 16th at 11h00. Father Morrison officiating. The pallbearers were Rheal LeBlanc, Wayde McDavid, Luc Porlier, Simon Sirois, Peter Lagacé and Raymond Porlier.

Pauline Elizabeth Court

Pauline Elizabeth Court - 55, of Kentville, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2006 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Campbellton, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late James and Augusta (Geraghty) Foran.

She is survived by her husband, Harry; a daughter, Tanya (Clarke) Lent, Centreville; a son, Jamie (Paula), Cambridge, Ontario; four sisters, Bernetta Gagnon, Mississauga, Ontario; Mary Foran, Glencoe, New Brunswick; Betty Anne Gilker, Pickering, Ontario; Joan (Phillip) Roy, Bathurst, New Brunswick; four brothers, Gary (Mary), Ottawa; Morley (Mariette), Bathurst; Robert, Port Credit, Ontario; Richard, Shediac, New Brunswick; her twin brother, Paul (Monique), Dieppe, New Brunswick; four grandchildren, Erica, Madison, Alyssa and Alexander; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kentville.
