Alma Marie (Renault) Graham

Passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Village Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family on December 18th, 2006 at the age of 92.

She was born in Campbellton and spent her entire life in this community contributing in many different ways. She was a founding member of St Thomas Aquinas Church and was a member of the CWL for 69 years. She was one of the first residents of the Village apartments. She was active in many of the Nursing Home Committees and was a member of the Board of Directors including Chairperson. As a result of her volunteer work she was honored with "Volunteer of The Year "Award by the New Brunswick Nursing Home Association.

She leaves to mourn her daughters Frances ( John ) McLaughlin of Oakville Ontario and Paula (David ) Lee of London , Ontario, her sons Daniel (Linda) Graham of Enfield Nova Scotia and Peter (Janet) Graham of Ayr , Ontario. Her Sisters, Frances Turnbull , Johannesburg, South Africa and Theresa (Ev) McKinnon, Tide Head, N.B. Her brothers Leopold Renault, Moncton, N.B. and Jack (Charlotte) Renault, Campbellton. Also survived by grandchildren Cynthia (Mike Drexler), Sarah (Ron Hyson), Lisa (Mark Timar), Trisha, Andrew and Emily. Great grandchildren Caitlyn, Connor and Cassidy and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Paul and her sister, Germaine Adams.

A funeral mass was held from St Thomas Aquinas Church on Tuesday December 19th 2006. Mass was celebrated by Father Bill Arsenault and Father Valery Hache.

Ida Proulx

Passed away at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on December 11, 2006 at the age of 93, Mrs. Ida Proulx.

She leaves to mourn her son Raymond J. Mallet (Dee Dee) of Balmoral, her half sisters Honorine, Jacqueline, Germaine and Gabrielle, her brother Honoré, also two grandchildren Kevin (Chantal) Mallet of Eel River Crossing and Brenda (Darin) Lagacé of Dalhousie, and four great grandchildren Anthony, Jolène, Ryan and Scott. Predeceased by her first husband Laurent Mallet, her second husband Camille Cyr and her third husband Tancrède Proulx, her father Aimé Dugas, her mother Marie Anne Allard, her sisters Bertha and Emma, her brothers Edmond and Denis.

The funeral mass was held from St. Benoit Church in Balmoral, on Wednesday December 13th at 4pm. Father Lanteigne officiating. The Pallbearers were Kevin Mallet, Darin Lagacé, Roger Bissonnette, Charles Parker, Amédée Parker and Raymond Dugas.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Balmoral.

Christine LaPointe

The death of Christine LaPointe of Lorne, wife of Justin LaPointe, occurred December 15, 2006 at her residence at the age of 48.

She is survived by her husband Justin, son Jamie of St. Antoine, brothers Coleman, Gerald, sister Jeannine Hickey and grandson Cameron.

Her funeral was held December 20, 2006, from St. Maria Goretti Church in Lorne, officiated by Father David Ferguson with burial in the Parish Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.

Ruby Dobson

Dobson, Ruby (Man), age 97, wife of the late Nelson Dobson passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2006 at the Campbellton Nursing Home.

Born in Port Daniel West, PQ, she was a daughter of William Peter Man and Margaret Edith Chatterton and a descendant of Loyalists (Man and Beebe) who settled in the Bay of Chaleur in 1784. She was the last surviving member of her family and was predeceased by eight brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her son Winston (St. Catharines, Ont.), three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held next spring with interment in the United Church Cemetery in Port Daniel West, PQ.

Ernestine Bienvenu

At the Campbellton Regional Hospital, on December 19, 2006, at the age of 79, passed away Mrs. Ernestine Bienvenu, wife of the late Omer Bienvenu.

She will be sadly missed by her 10 children: Roger (Rita Day) of Riverview, Joan (Compton Vierra) of Montréal, Qc., David (Jocelyne Morais) of Flatlands, Richard (Wendy Firth) of Edmonton, Alb., Doris of Perth, Ont., Danny (Lolita) of Toronto, Ont., Carol of Perth, Ont., Peter (Peggy Stimson) of Edmonton, Alb., Jules of Campbellton and Micheal of Campbellton; her grandchildren: Ryan, Kevin, Tracy, Shane, Julie Ann and Danielle Kay; her great-grandchild: Rebekah, her sisters: Lorraine Arseneau of Ontario, Fernande Arseneau of Campbellton and Gertrude Arseneau of Campbellton. Also, many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends will sadly miss her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Omer Bienvenu, her parents: Thomas Arseneau & Amanda Pitre, her sister, Leona and her brother, Henri.

The funeral was held on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the Our Lady of Snows Church, Campbellton, and celebrated by Father Morrison with burial in the parish cemetery.
